The one highlight of this year with being unable to travel or book any events has been football. Being robbed of going to games is just another kick in the guts. It’s getting harder and harder to find any joy in living in this state.

If you’re in Melbourne, go get takeaway from your local restaurant tonight and save the massive food wastage these businesses are about to have thanks to a last minute lockdown. Absolute balls.

Well no need to be angry about a game in Darwin now. Seems we will be back to sunny QLD for that game. We better not miss the Dogs game at the G tho.

My Essendon mate is being very pragmatic about the whole thing. He's like "tough breaks in Covid happen to everyone". And he's right. It's [censored] for them, but everyone has suffered and every club has been impacted.

Strong suggestions that these 'removalists' were moving a lot more than furniture across state lines. Regardless they broke multiple rules clearly stated on their Freight Permit, including prolonged interaction with clients and not wearing masks. So yes 10/10 would throw them and their bosses in jail.

Two more positive cases at the G now in that MCC level 2 area. No chance we are going to the footy this weekend.

Completely agree and also a big shout out to AFL clubs as a whole. They’ve been really flexible and adapted and adjusted at the drop of a hat to keep the season going. While I don’t have massive sympathy for players earning 6 figures, they are still human and they still have families. Them being away or having to adjust their schedule constantly would be really damn hard on their partners and kids who also have lives. I know that Tmac’s newborn was in hospital this week for example. Now imagine if that happens and he’s interstate due to Covid for an extended period of time. That would be really hard for any parent, AFL player or not. So I applaud everyone involved for getting on with it and making sure the season goes ahead. It seems we’ve had an issue in virtually every round of the season and yet we haven’t had to cancel a single game or compromise the schedule too much.

Just absolute balls. Clearly the AFL knows we are heading into lockdown. Every time they get teams out of Victoria it's because they've been told lockdown is imminent. If we get to miss out on yet another Melbourne Bulldogs clash I'll spew. What are the chances we will even get to see our team play finals this year? The response from NSW has been pathetic, and now we are all in this mess. Sick and tired of this!

I’m saying that unless you live in a high density state surrounded by other high density states in close proximity with many busy border communities, and take a lot of international arrivals, it’s very easy to say how great your strict border control has been. Some of us don’t have that luxury and with all due respect to WA while their premier says he doesn’t care about the rest of Australia, the GDP of Victoria and NSW absolutely keeps this country afloat far more than WA does. How nice for Mark to yell shut the borders every 3 minutes and have it impact precisely nobody.

And you’re not at all reliant on people coming from other states and countries to get those resources?

They just said on the news Geelong will be met by police, taken to be tested and then told to isolate until they return a negative test result. NSW may have done SFA for too long, but WA is another level of hysteria altogether. Absolute clowns.

If they do cap the crowds I assume we will still be safe with 20,000. Doubt anyone is turning up from Hawthorn.
