I think nobody remembers Oliver in his early days. But it says a lot that he’s never been dropped once in his entire career. He came in and dominated from day one. But Bowey is no different. Composure in such a hard part of the ground is insane. He reminds me a lot of Salem with the way he attacks the footy and uses it.

Jackson would be stupid to leave now. He can sign for 2 years, nab himself one or two more flags and then reassess. It’s not like in 2 seasons he won’t be any good and West Coast and Freo won’t be wetting themselves at the thought of getting him home. But to leave now is to throw away the best chance he has of being a multiple premiership player. Besides he has the opportunity to enjoy his footy and do what he likes while Gawn gets all the attention. If he goes to a club with lesser rucks the ride will be much harder for him.

It’s so important for us to keep banking those 4 points any way we can while our backline is held together by May, a 9 gamer and a bit of sticky tape. The one area that I wasn’t pleased with last night was the connection going inside 50. We cooked so many entries that we would normally eat up. I wonder if the conditions just sapped us of energy. Jackson and Bowey were superb, but you can’t not give Trac the 6 votes. 40 touches, 8 score involvements and 14 inside 50s is absolutely elite. His disposal wasn’t as good as usual but he absolutely won that game for us.

I thought Smith was really good. Defended really well. Was composed with ball in hand. Nothing wrong with him game. Really wish the club was honest re: Lever. If it’s gonna be a month just tell us. We really miss Petty!

For obvious reasons I watched none of the Hawks Port game and I assume nobody here did either. But what happened? Port bad? Hawks good? And how long does Hinkley have left?

It doesn’t sound like Lever is coming back anytime soon. If Hibbo is ok to go then he comes in for Hunt. We all know Goodwin won’t make more than one unforced change so I won’t even bother with anymore than that, although Tmac is on thin ice. His form since mid way through last year has been very ordinary.
