  1. They’re a very talented list. Still suspect down back for me tho.
  2. Hot take- we broke the Dogs
  3. Yze I believe is the main channel of communication in the box between himself and Goodwin on the bench. So I would say Yze. It’s quite good that Goody coaches from the bench. It means less chance of the other coaches passing it to him as they’re in the box.
  4. Hunt played deeper last week and was on Weightman for quite a bit of the game. Rivers is a better user of the footy coming out of defence which is something we need, having lost Salem. I know Hunt has the speed and dash, but Rivers is more reliable by foot. I would say Rivers plays higher up, which means he may not end up on Rankine who does play closer to goal.
  5. I think everyone saw that one coming. 0 need to risk one of our most important players in round 2, especially given the mounting injury toll to our backline and having lost Salem for a third of the year. Rivers is a good replacement for Salem from a like for like opponent matchup perspective so at least that’s something.
  6. Welcome to the circus that is the AFL.
  7. I wonder how the footy public would have reacted if Bevo behaved the same way towards a female journalist, and not Tom Morris.
  8. I don’t disagree. McCrae only having 4 score involvements is very poor considering his possession count. He is a distributor but he doesn’t create damage forward of the center. It’s why I don’t think we cared that he was racking them up. I don’t dispute that Smith deserved votes. I just think it’s a bit rich of Bevo (and again I’m assuming it was him who gave him the 4 votes), to rate his game that much higher than Clarry’s who had more score involvements and was significantly better by foot. But it’s ok because Bevo not rating our midfield suits me just fine. Worked out super well for him the last two times we’ve met.
  9. They’ve had a good list for a while. They just seem to fall apart under pressure. If they can fix that they’ll go a long way to winning a flag. But you don’t win flags if your team isn’t capable of playing high pressure footy.
  10. Yet McRae doesn’t crack a single vote?
  11. Well we had 27 scoring shots to 16 so it makes sense. Inaccurate goal kicking kept them in touch at quarter time after we had 9 scoring shots to 4.
  12. He is a good player who can’t kick very well.
  13. They are moody, inconsistent and emotionally fragile… tell me where I’m wrong 😂
  14. Viney is excited.
  15. No but do we need Lever, Tomlinson, May and Petty in the same backline? If Tomlinson is playing good footy and Tmac struggles up forward as he did second half of last season and Weideman is giving us nothing, why wouldn’t you try Petty? He is too good to play VFL.
  16. Petty can also play forward.
  17. Smith is one of the most overrated footballers going around. If he did not look the way he looks and have 15 year old girls swooning over him, he would rarely be talked about.
  18. Those conditions should have suited Brisbane. It was their home game and they played poorly. I doubt Fagan is thrilled with what they showed.
  19. Bailey Smith with 66% disposal efficiency versus Oliver at 75%. Smith 5 score involvements, Oliver 8…I know who Goodwin rates here 😉
  20. I’m wondering if we keep Tmac down back until Petty is ready to return and this opens up the door for Weideman to try and prove he belongs at senior level.
  21. Everyone hates us
  22. Jackson with a poster too to start the last quarter.
  23. If we kicked straight in the first or the end of the third quarter, this game would have been a demolition. Ben Brown and Fritta missed two gimmes in the third they would both usually kick. Sparrow sprayed one too on the run. And let’s not talk about the umpiring. Absolutely putrid one sided rubbish. So many “in the backs” for minimal contact to the Dogs. Gawn has his head taken in every marking contest, play on.
  24. Robinson didn’t get the message then. He was screaming at teammates this week. Another reason to hate him.
  25. So I’m finally watching a bit of the replay on my lunch break (thank you Covid for this WFH win!). And one thing I really love is how well we play as a team. I watched a few teams on the weekend yelling and abusing teammates for bad kicks which I thought was so poor. In contrast we support one another, we group together and chat and make decisions on the field. We don’t attack, we don’t point fingers and we don’t let anything phase us. I think that is a sign of a really good team that trusts the process and trusts one another. For example third quarter, we just took the lead back. ANB gets BB and Fritta together for a chat to point our positioning. This is a guy who last year was on the trash pile and he’s now setting up forward structures. Just wonderful to watch.
