  1. Thanks for the podcast, many happy hours of enjoyment this year. And cheers for the shout out!
  2. I've had an AFLW 2021 re-watch planned for a while, seems like ages ago and was a mostly enjoyable season. Was going to be a way to re-focus if things went awry for the men, ha! Of course, it only takes about an hour to watch an AFLW game, so I'm sure I can squeeze in a premiership-winning season game each week as well. What a time to be alive!
  3. So many ways to watch: 👹 Second half - This allows you to recapture that "Oh no!" sinking feeling and experience the momentum shift to fuller effect. 👹 Bont's goal onwards - Less impactful version of the above, slightly more time efficient, great "everything's awesome from here" vibes. 👹 The whole shebang - The first quarter was pretty good after all, and the second quarter just makes the second half more satisfying and awe-inspiring. 👹 At any point in the replay - Because why not? 👹 Backwards - Haven't tried this yet, but I'm sure it's pretty good too. Maybe even some demonic subliminal messaging?
  4. There's something extra special about a childhood fan making it to the big time and the ultimate success for the same club. Especially a former rookie with ostensibly no high-level connections to the club or industry. It's the stuff of dreams really.
  5. The only player on our current list that I can recall bagging didn't make the premiership team so... Even then it was only the lightest of criticism, more disappointment than anything. I have this weird thing where I can't be too critical of our players for fear that they'll fulfill my negative expectation of them. Also there were a lot of years where if I'd started with one player I'd probably end up listing half the team and that's a dark path to go down.
  6. Yes! Was very funny. But I also liked the way Trent handled it, just laughed and set him straight. Could have felt awkward or annoyed to have to correct a club legend on his name after just becoming a premiership player, but his feet were firmly on the ground - wasn't going to let it pass though!
  7. True, although I'd have thought it's pretty common to recall years by the last two numbers alone since the first apply to all years in that century. And I'm unlikely to forget it was the year '21 that we won the flag! 21 goals in '21. Works for me.
  8. Trying to track down your member badge, potentially worn at the PF or GF? Try this Facebook group (thanks to @Robbie57 for pointing this out on another thread): MFC Member Badges Brought Home Also adding this, mainly so I remember to watch when I can give my full attention: Center Bounce Analysis
  9. I'd like to say it was completely selfless, but it's turned out quite nicely for me too. A weird glitch made me lose all my bookmarks...luckily I've got the most important ones saved in this thread!
  10. A well timed "pause" on your video too!
  11. Petracca. Just can't go past it for skill and execution under pressure. But one that's grown on me in the re-watching is Sparrow's. That was one great kick, easily lost in everything that went on around it. Also I really appreciate TMac's goal after the siren. Yes, pressure was off etc., but it still would have taken extreme concentration to put that through.

  13. Since I can't edit the top post, I think I'll just update with comments (and others feel free to do the same). Probably easiest and it's still in one place for us all to refer to for the rest of our lives!
  14. To be fair, this poster might have 'lurked' without joining, if you know what I mean? On the topic, it did remind me of something I've always wondered. Where did the "WHAT DO WE SING?" part of the song come from? Was it always there? It feels like something that organically became a tradition at some point, can anyone shed some light?
  15. Can't for the life of me figure out how to edit the original post. I swear it's usually very obvious. Any pointers? Hmmm, I can edit this post. But on the top post it doesn't have an option, just "Quote" and "Report".
  16. For more about Ben's journey and approach to his family and footy, this is a great listen and echoes what Jaded has described. Ben and his wife Hester talk about his move to the Dees and are very candid about what they appreciate about the club's culture this year. Plus the impact on family of having players away and achieving success without them - a view we don't hear often. Well worth the listen to understand more about the many facets of a club's culture beyond the players themselves.
  17. Wow hadn't thought of it like that, even better!
  18. Thought Demonlanders might appreciate having all this gathered in one spot. Comment anything I've missed and I'll add it to the list. 19. Brayshaw's goal to put us in front took us to 64 points.
  20. To still be celebrating the Dees in October!!! Yep, I played a long game with my user name. Usually by October many of us are well on the way to thinking about draft picks, trades, or even the fixture for the next year - or perhaps just have our head in the sand trying not to think about footy at all. Not in 2021! DEES IN OCTOBER!
