  1. Hope it is great occasion, Redleg. A Demonland social function will always run a distant second!
  2. An admirable show of faith, BBO. Pity about the result, but the boys did respond with their lowest losing margin of the year. Gotta count for something, I guess, such as it is this year...
  3. I thought they were North's mascot for a minute. Might put me off banana cake for a few hours.... :-)
  4. Whoa! Sounds like too much information to me!
  5. Sounds like a chocolate, or perhaps a biscuit ... :-)
  6. A sign outside saying "Diet banana cake swap meet"? And another saying "The foxes went *that* way" for the alpacas? We could also just ask everyone to sing 'Its a grand old flag' in public, as you would have to be true red-and-blue or certifiable or both to do that ...
  7. No alpacas, though ... :-)
  8. Great idea, Redleg. We could also discuss how the boys are training the house down under the new coach ... :-)
  9. I thought it was the number of slices of banana cake to be consumed by the end of the season ...
  10. Glad to hear it was a good trip, OD. I am a native of Bendigo myself, but left when I was a baby, and have no connection there now. Should auld acquaintance be forgot .... (dimly recalls singing that in the distant past :-))
  11. He'd be better off with a rather large banana smoothie ...
  12. For me its like banana cake ...
  13. All the best, DC. Hope it goes well, and you come back here better than ever.
  14. Glad to hear you are alright, OD. Certainly puts things in perspective. Good omen, I guess, as it seems that luck is on your side on the things that count.
  15. That's the spirit! The Dees certainly provided the hell on the weekend ...
  16. Sounds like it will be more enjoyable, even if we win by 100+. Any victory for us this season will be sweet, but soon forgotten; a weekend catching up with old mates will surely be something that lives in the memory for ever. Hence don't think of it as an omen, but the right decision.
  17. If by "here" you mean on this thread, then no problem. On some of the others, I think three months would be akin to a sentence for daylight robbery ...
  18. Sorry to hear it, OD, but you know the saying -- there is always next week!
  19. Ditto. I did think in the last quarter that OD and BB made much better choices for the weekend ...
  20. Yeah, no point in saving banana cake -- carpe bananum and all that ...
  21. Sorry -- brain fade -- yes, of course. And a big yes to blueberry muffins.
  22. Now you are talking!
  23. If it is up for nominations, I nominate date scones (fresh, of course), and it sounds like Redleg would nominate vanilla slice. Come to think of it, what do OD and BB have against proud custard tarts?
  24. Maybe. I see it more as him not putting himself into a corner by saying that he wants the job, but then having nowhere to go if he doesn't get it. He won't say that he doesn't want the job, of course (even if that is the case), and if he does he would need the team to win more than lose over the next four weeks or so, which makes him a hostage to fortune. So he says the above as a typically polite way of saying "too early to tell". FWIW Provided that one of Craig, Williams or Eade wants the job (and understandably none of them have.openly said so) I don't think we could go wrong with any of them.
  25. No, but there are few others that may have postings, but not a lot of worthwhile content ... :-) FWIW I planted some roses recently, and in a certain corner put a red one and a blue one (well, as blue as roses get - more like light purple ) One day I hope to be able to put a navy blue one next to the red one, or better yet, a hybrid one that produces red and blue flowers, starting in late September ... Is that better, WJ? :-)
