  1. Nothing a few consecutive wins wouldn't fix ...
  2. Would I do that? I didn't see your other post, as I tend not to read every thread in detail after we lose. FWIW I share your sentiment.
  3. Come on, OD, you know better than that. Would I a prefer a full glass? Of course. Do I like the fact that we lost? No. Can I change anything about it? No. Can I do anything other than yell from the sidelines? No. So I can either say "#^R$#$!!! We lost again!" (plenty of threads for that ), or say "Hmm.. what we the good things about today?". I'll take the latter any time.
  4. Apart from the result, I had a good day at the footy. Joined the march to the G at the last minute, managed to get close to Neale, the PM and Gill (didn't realise the dill was so tall), as well as Eddie, Neale and Bill Shorten. Even managed a quick word with Neale and gave him a pat on the back. Then saw some play from the Dees that I haven't seen for some time -- dash, pace and skill. There were the usual clangers, and the margin was pretty much Cloke and the maggots, but finally some spirited footy --- just not enough of it. Call me a glass-half full dreamer (OD, your cue ), but there it is.
  5. Good to hear about the coffee place --- must try that next time I am in the area. As for the ride, I am guessing it was the Koonung Creek trail to the Yarra trail, and then down the Gardiners creek trail. A very nice ride, at that.
  6. Off your tree, OD? I think there are a few other apricots around here then ... BTW you are absolutely right about getting them straight off the tree. A ripe white peach on a warm day is something special.
  7. Don't think I have tried the yellow fingers variety (and for that matter, I don't think I have seen bananas for sale that were not yellow).
  8. So, back to the price of bananas ... I tried reading the Adam Goodes thread, but after the first 12 pages it got almost as depressing as the ones about the game on the weekend ...
  9. The newly optimistic OD, fresh from the bottom of the Yarra, would presumably be delighted with Rohan ...
  10. Congratulations WJ and family. Great news! Always a joy to hear.
  11. There is no accounting for taste ...
  12. Nah --- they probably watched porn between takes ...
  13. So eagles don't eat Vegemite? You learn something new every day ...
  14. You'll go to the footy with Moonie, BBO and Biff, but won't eat Vegemite? Crikey, it must be a weird place where you come from! :)
  15. Next you'll be telling me that Biff is Grace Sullivan's love child, and she made some extra quid during the war selling crack at the Gat ...
  16. That is the first (and possibly only) time I have ever heard The Sullivans and porn mentioned together ...
  17. There is a fine line between bravery and stupidity. Just saying ... :)
  18. Once you scrape the ice off ...
  19. Essendon and bananas in the same post? Sacrilege!
  20. Red bananas. I thought a connoisseur like yourself would know such things ...
  21. Why not? But thanks for the idea anyway ...
  22. Yes --- just realised we are fresh out of them, and better go and obtain some more. Thanks for the reminder! Redleg is probably sipping a banana daquiri in some swank US bar as we type ...
  23. True, unfortunately for me. If we have to discuss former liberal state premiers, then Bolte or Hamer for mine. But the price of bananas will always win out ...
  24. You prefer discussions about North and East Burwood?
  25. The Google map that pops up from Wikipedia suggests something a lot smaller --- basically Warrigal Road to the west, Riversdale Road to the north, Stephensons Road to the east and Highbury Road (sort of) to the south. However, given the rather weird and wobbly lines, especially the southern one, I could believe that the surveyor responsible found these boundaries via a pub crawl ... More bizarrely, the same source defines Burwood East in a similarly nonlinear fashion, with the result that the Burvale appears to be not in Burwood East, but in Vermont South. Add that to the list of stuff you know but wish you had never found out ... :)
