Bloody good to have footy back. Yeah we were a bit rusty but it was nice not to be at the top of our game and still smash the Joeys. Remember it’s the FIRST practice game of the year after winning the premiership after 150 year drought and we still look fit and hungry. GO DEES.

When I was a kid and had just moved up from Melb to Qld I went into my local Sportsco and wore my Dees jersey with number 2 on my back and an older fella came up to me and asked how long had I followed the Dees. My answer was naturally, all my life. He proceeded to tell me that he new Robbie and I asked how and he said he was his brother, James. What a small world it is. He then asked me if I wanted a job at sportsco which I said hell yeah. Funny how things turn out.

It’s never a good sign when players defer negotiations until the end of the season. The way the afl clubs work it wouldn’t surprise me if he has already “verbally” or similar agreed to a deal with another club. One thing I do know is that we are now a successful club which comes with different challenges one being keeping all our quality players under the salary cap. Time will tell.

I got this watch for Christmas. It’s actually a lot nicer in person than in the add which was a pleasant surprise. I also got a premiership jersey, bar runner, stickers, cap and flag. Very spoilt this yr but as I said to my kids, it’s easy to buy for dad when we win the premiership. (This is the first year they haven’t had to really think what to get me!). Hope all demonlanders had a great Christmas Day. 🥃🏆
