Nothing’s been clearer to me than us going on to win the flag if we stayed healthy. We were just about ready to peak into the finals. Then losing Gus emotionally became a bit too much for entire club really… that’s what it felt like anyway. Reckon we might’ve been cooked even if we did end up getting past Carlton. Was a brutal ending 2023 Our “One that got away” story.

I honestly think that Petty will eventually play a forward role too. It makes a heap of sense. Tmac has demonstrated enough that he’s still good enough to play alongside May & Lever - if Turner cant take his chance in the early rounds, I think Turner position could be strife & Petts will replace him & pair up with JVR. A fit Petty is a totally different proposition to his output of last year (foot / no pre season & form). He’s 197cm, can clunk a mark & plays with some mongrel. A lot more confident with JVR & Petts then any other available KPF combination for me. Fritsch will get off the chain if these two play good footy this year.
