Ok then let’s go back and see how many quarters we won. Or won by less than a goal for instance it used to be win 4 goals a quarter on average you win the game . I feel embarrassed unti we kick our first goal because I am not sure we will. against Carlton who scored first in each quarter. Even the last they got a goal within 30 seconds . i just think we need a better strategy going forward and better coaching in that area. effort. I hope we win against the eagles, but it’s only hope,

There have been 10 rounds less the bye 36 quarters of football. in 19 of those we have scored less than 3 goals. Four with zero goals five with 1 goals five with two and five with 3 goals and every game has had one quarter where our scoring has failed for a number of reasons Not all in the forwards. of course that leaves 17 that are acceptable. About 50% players. But that is not the consistency of scoring for a successful finals team. No its Melbourne for the past two seasons. i totally accept that we have been more successful in the past few years than ever before. But we are nowhere good enough to trouble the top 4 sides. Perhaps the winning ratio of the last couple of years means I do not want to tolerate mediocrity.

The number of times in the rounds so far that we have scored zero or one or two goals for the quarter Tells you we have serious attack problems ( as if we did not know) that have not been addressed. no finals team with a chance can afford this error we need a dedicated forward coach with ability and expertise in the forward line. This is not to denigrate existing coaches but it is not good enough. it is wasting the talents of Gawn Viney Petrarca and Oliver not to mention Salem May and Lever These players were too hard to get to waste. One flag is not enough it’s a fail !

No it was not why we lost, the first quarter did that, but poor umpiring should not be acceptable and if one particular umpire only pays frees one way. There should be questions asked. we should ask the head of the umpires why. Make them justify those decisions. make ourselves heard. Not necessarily in the media.

We need a rethink, something is not working, in 7 games we have kicked a total of 13 goals in the first quarter. Two games we got 4 and 5, a number of quarters where we only scored 1 goal. and 4 quarters where we scored no goals. Top 4 we are delusional. His often tonight did Carlton kick a goal in the first 30 seconds of the quarter. MFCSS Feels like a warm coat!

Great comments, can I use them on my mates? We are better than last year when we gifted the game. Bowey in makes us better. Petty usually keeps his form once he is up to speed. and we have Leb on a wing. and Disco is providing an alternative to our Mr Smith. and I do not think the Captain’s run took much fitness away from us.
