  1. Yes George, lots to be excited about. Tayla will hopefully deliver a la BBB. Eliza West who has been regularly praised by @Dees_In_October, won the Debbie Lee award (VFL’s Rising Star) and starred in US college basketball. Meggs is looking forward to seeing her play. Go girls!
  2. Q1. Dees 0 Pies 15 Q2. Dees 16 Pies 15 Q3. Dees 17 Pies 22 Q4. Dees 41 Pies 22 A practice match win. Must have been windy at Casey Fields. Hopefully someone can share news on who played well etc
  3. Meggs unfortunately can’t make it. Is anyone planning on attending and reporting?
  4. While Meggs concurs with the sentiment, there are 5 or 6 teams thereabouts. The Magpies have a great list and several guns (we apparently and not surprisingly tried to poach Chloe Molloy during the off season), Brisbane, Adelaide, Fremantle and North Melbourne are all strong contenders. A lot of things have to go right for us to win it. Our backline and lack of finishers will determine how we go as our midfielders and running game are our strength. Meggs loves Kayo and has watched all last season’s matches (he hopes Goldie plays each week-Sean Wightish).
  5. Yes, Tommy should stick with number 32, it’s his premiership winning jumper after all. Cam Bruce went alright and of course there are some famous players from other teams in the number 32: Timmy Watson, Mark Riccuito, Buddha Hocking and Paddy Dangerfield.
  6. Great summary DIO. Really looking forward to seeing who shines in the pre season. Definitely fancy our chances in the upcoming season. Depth is very good. Rucks, mids, forwards and running backs are strong. KPDs are Meggs only mild concern. Gaby C certainly improves each year and hope she makes it big. Selection will be fascinating given the competition for spots.
  7. Meggs replied to Dingo's topic in Melbourne Demons
With Big Carl, his 25.5% win:loss ratio probably improves not counting games he where he was suspended or injured. He made his team walk taller. Loved the big man!
  8. Or D’oh!
  9. Meggs anticipates Ollie Wines to vote very strongly but expects Jack Steele to surprisingly pilfer the Charlie. With 5 All Australians, Meggs can’t see one of Clarry, Trac, Gawn, Lever or May accruing sufficient votes to win it. But he’s still hopeful one of them can…after all it’s the year of the Dees!
  10. Mr and Mrs Meggs said hello to Neil yesterday. He was taking his daily constitutional along the Anniversary Trail and appeared in good spirits. A trip to Perth would seem unlikely given the number of barriers. G Lyon would be an acceptable choice to present the Cup. It should be a cracker of a game….go Dees!
  11. We’ve got a game to win first Garry. We can start to dream next week if we roll the Cats.
  12. Hawkins kicking has been very good. Dees forwards take note. We need you to kick straight next week!
  13. Has Melbourne ever beaten Geelong 3 times in a season?
  14. Daisy just said 4th free kick inside 50
  15. Meggs has foreseen a Cats win once Swans couldn’t get the job done last week. No Greene or Green means the Giants’ chances are low. Have the Dees ever met the Cats 3 times in a season and won all 3?
  16. Does anyone think GWS can we win? I fully expect to play Geelong so what’s the best match up. No change.
  17. Just watching the replay sober. We really dominated the second quarter but it could have been so much more. Getable set shots missed by Jackson twice, Langdon and McDonald, Petracca missed twice with snaps and an ANB hit up of BBB went too high. Potentially 7 goals which ended up 6 points.
  18. No more Toby until 2022.
  19. If you hate Geelong like I do then you want Sydney to win. GWS without Greene and Green will struggle next week. Swans will too but they look more likely to take it up to the Cats. History shows the losing qualifiers win the second week.
  20. Doghouse 2 throws missed by the muppets. I am seeing things?
  21. Dangerfield can throw too, nice.
  22. You are allowed to hit Gray in the head but not Selwood or Dangerfield. It’s a new rule apparently.
  23. Gee Port look hot 🔥
  24. Our 3 gun inclusions haven’t fired a shot
  25. God I hate Dangerfield but we have stopped
