  1. Very ugly hit. Because it's GWS he'll get one week down to 0 with guilty plea.
  2. Ouch! Gonna get a few weeks for hitting the helmeted midget
  3. Better footballer than Bryce Kicks well with either foot.
  4. Is a fair dinkum drop greater than a normal drop DAG?
  5. Mono, it didn't stop them letting the Dogs get away with plenty of dubious handballs in the GF last year, nor during this season so far.
  6. At the moment, just finishing the game uninjured is a pass
  7. I remember watching Greene in his first couple of years and seeing bits of play that made me take note. I kind of liked his cockyness and raw talent. I have no idea how much of a dh he might be, and I appreciate Roos' policy, but imo it was clear he had ability yet needed direction and focus, something that I thought was Roos' forte. Thank god it wasn't Bugg and Bunting plus 9 for 2, as the second link suggests.
  8. And so master coach Roos, why didn't you buy the packet of chips?
  9. Very true. Boys (and girls) grow up wanting their dad to be proud of them. I have no doubt his dad would be very proud of the legacy he's left in Jesse. It will have a massive impact on Jesse and he should take all the time he needs.
  10. Peter Jackson might borrow it for his mellon.
  11. Isn't he their captain? Cut from same cloth as Bucks. Can't see him going elsewhere at 30
  12. Was a late, but not really behind play. Gus didn't appear braced for it at all
  13. Talking Footy about to discuss concussion with vision of Gus' hit
  14. We've lacked leadership for many years. Jones has been our best leader over the last 5-6 years, but many others should have stood up. Dunn wasn't a leader. Don't think Dawes was, but he wasn't on the park enough to lead. Vince a leader, no. Watts, no. TMac, no. ATM Lewis is the best we have. I've banged on in other threads about our opponent's leaders the last two weeks and how they inspired their team to get over the line. Fyfe, Sandy, Cotch, Martin, Riewoldt. so who are our future leaders that will make a difference? Oliver? Stretch? Salem?
  15. Yep, he has an amazing ability to know where everyone is in the contest, which direction they are facing and their momentum so as to put the ball to their direct advantage and away from an opponent. That dish off to Garlett last night where Jeffy streamed in to kick the goal is but one example. Often this happens in a fraction of a second and when he himself is travelling at speed, making the task all the more amazing.
  16. Nixon is the football equivalent of mark latham
  17. Any feedback on this @dazzledavey36?
  18. Can't help injuries. Can help suspension. Hard to judge importance when the guy got himself suspended. And here I was at trade time thinking he was the smart leader we needed....
  19. I differ in opinion. 'Incredible' is not the word I'd use because many you mention are either not defenders or poor defenders (Hibberd, Hunt and maybe Jetta excepted). Last night Rance highlighted what we do not have atm. As did Dusty, Cotchin and Rievoldt. We have youth, we have no A graders and limit players with leadership. On top of this we have depth of questionable quality. Get Fyfe/Dusty or similar, get May or another good KPD and we are much better placed going forward. Experience, leadership and high quality players
  20. IMO we still have many areas of deficiency on our list. Our 'depth' isn't anywhere near as good as many claim. We need a number 1 kp defender (Tmac is not this), we are at least 2 experienced A grade mids down on other clubs (Clary will be this in 2-3 years, but not as a 19yo) and now we have no real ruck left. Combined with guys like JKH, ANB, Harmes, ben Ken, etc who would struggle to get games at most other clubs and our list appears wafer thin. Poor depth is hardly depth, especially when they are picked regularly enough. The other elephant in the room is our lack of true leaders. We've managed to plug some holes over the last 18 months, Hunt and Hibberd are good additions, Clary will be a star, and (until injured) Max has grown in stature immensely, and so on. But our midfield lacks quality and depth, we have many C and B graders trying to play roles beyond their capabilities. I include Jones, Vince, Viney, Tyson in this. I'm hoping Brayshaw, Trac and Salem lift above B level, but that's still 2-3 years away. Look at Richmond last night (which I don't rate that highly). Rance, Rievoldt, Martin, Cotchin. A graders and All Australian players in my view. All grabbing their teammates and demanding "come with me and win this!" Who are our A grade leaders? My priorities at seasons end would be a FA such as Martin or Fyfe and trade for May from GCS, or similar. We have enough youth, we need 25-26yo high end to come in.
