  1. Yes, the reality is we are in the 8 and a real chance at playing finals this year. That's a fact, not a shadow, a false gospel or getting all "moist". Some on here conveniently don't want to accept that we are as much a chance of finals as we are not. But if you wish to keep wallowing in your MFCSS then as you say, knock yourself out. I too have been around the block, have seen many false dawns, but no premiership. I'm realistic enough to see this list is in a good shape moving forward with a coach that is learning and growing with the team. I think we can probably agree to disagree. I'll leave it at that for fear of going off banana topic. Go Dees!
  2. I really wonder if you and WYL would actually enjoy sharing that beer Bub. Truly. Some on Land are fixated with the failures rather than the advancements we've made. That's the prevalent MFCSS. We are all disappointed at the losses, especially Sat night, but on the whole we still are a real chance at finals this year and certainly next year. Add Gaff or similar to a healthy list and there is much to look forward to. I am always optimistic about what we can do next week, next year. I hope. IMO what holds us back as a supporter base is the culture of negativity and the fall back into failure and blame. It's what I hear over and over from other footy following mates. You can choose to not expect much, or you can look forward to next week and be positive about what lies ahead. Let's enjoy the journey together, through the ups and the downs (nothing is perfect), but i honestly believe there will be more ups over the next 5 years. Rant over.
  3. Blake Caracella. Out of contract at end of this year.
  4. Surprisingly, I'm with you Daisy. And I'm still confident about finals this year, despite the company that loves misery here
  5. Except then his kick was terrible and he then didn't man up sufficiently on Hawkins to deny the easy mark at chf with 10 sec we to go, resulting in final goal. Frost is not the answer. But well done Gus. Great signing. Will get better and better over the next 3-4 years
  6. All upgrades, but not sure we have the leverage to get them all, or even most of them
  7. You really don't watch much football involving WCE, do you. The guy hits up targets regularly, including longer kicks. Previously an outside player, Gaff has taken his game to another level this year with improved inside work as well as 1%ers. If I was a betting person I'd be putting money on the double of him winning another B&F and finishing top 3 in the Brownlow. He's exactly what we need.
  8. C'mon WYL, next your going to tell us Donald Trump is the new messiah. Spirits, ghosts and curses are ok, but a big NO to religions? Hahaha! The king of all inconsistencies!
  9. WC upping the years and dollars would ensure they get best compo when they lose him to free agency. Imagine the SC pressure if Gaff were to accept and stay, especially after signing on McGovern to big money. They'd be releasing contracted B and C graders during trade week quicker than a plane dumping fuel in an emergency!
  10. He'll never be good enough to win a B&F with West Coast. Mark my words
  11. His curse or ghost is not. I agree with the cloud fairy part, but curses or influence beyond the grave are equally ridiculous
  12. Anyone notice how much space Lewis gave Menzel on the wing with 30 sec to go? Would it [censored] hurt to man up defensively in the dying seconds and not give the guy 30m space to receive and set up a training drill goal? For all that Lewis does well (and he does do many things very well) his turn overs, fall overs and lack of accountability at critical times costs us dearly every week. Lewis in circle on the left, Menzel on right next to umpire:
  13. Jeezus, doesn't misery love company? WYL, are you the poster who uses the term 'cloud fairies' for religions? Can't quite remember, might be Bub. So how exactly does the ghost of NS still hangs over us? Get over these silly superstitions. They are irrelevant to today.
  14. Restricted FA. Should WCE match what he is offered elsewhere, a trade must be done, or he goes into draft for Carlton to snaffle up. Most clubs would trade beforehand IMO, like Cats/Danger
  15. I blame Norm for every loss we have had this year. It is directly, 100% hos fault FMD
  16. I had a good chuckle Krazy. Not unlike my household on the night. As a slight aside, I've been to training a bit over the last few years and NEVER have I watched them practice or simulate a situation defending or attacking a close game at the end. Goodwin talked about lack of composure in the final few minutes, but what point is talking about it if they don't practice set plays at training? It's not as if lack of composure at the end has cost us many games over the last couple of years ?
  17. JKH unlikely to be with us next year imo. Omac is our long term kpd. We are missing Lever and now Hibberd which take the heat off him. That mark and subsequent kick in the last with 1.35min to go showed more maturity than Trac, JKH or Jeffy's efforts in the dying minutes
  18. Despite the final result last night, this guy once again proved he is in the elite category for everything midfield. Happy 21st Mr Oliver, and we look forward to another 10+ years in red and blue.
  19. Great to hear a player say it like it is. Common knowledge, we all think it. Gil won't like it though. Probably serve him with a limp 'please explain'
  20. Smart play by Danger. Dumb effort by the umpire who got sucked in and should've called play on. Clearly Danger had no intention of going for the ball and at that point lost his right to the free. It was a set up, the ump was played like a guitar, we fell for it too and paid the price. If this rule and the 'protected zone' rule isn't changed, it will make the game a joke. On the other hand, how did the umpire not pay a free when Nev ran into the Cat forward front on with his eyes not on the incoming ball? A blind mole would've paid that.
  21. Would rather a player and a pick than two picks. Despite Tayor's magic, draft is always a gamble. Look, I truly hope Hogan stays long term and fulfils his potential, but ATM I see another two high quality mids as a priority. If Hogan continues with this on again, off again form next year his currency will change. I don't doubt his ability, I doubt his consistency and value going forward. If we land Gaff as FA without a trade, this may change the picture somewhat, but not the issue above
  22. Really? Seriously one of the stupidest post written on Demonland. Congratulations.
