  1. Given I was the last one to quote a "source" before your post Jaded I assume you are referring to me The source is real. If you choose not to believe that is fine, you don't know me so there is no reason you should. Personally, I like to read what other people have heard and I just passed on what was told to me and I must admit I found the masturbation reference a bit tacky.
  2. So this is what I was told today. The source is in the industry. This might already be common knowledge As reported tonight Suns met with Dees today re Howe. Expect him to be playing north next year. We are keen on Dixon if he doesn't get to Power due to trade We keep inquiring about O'meara but he has a contract Source reckons Melksham is a dud Aish to Pies, Treloar to Pies
  3. I'm happy about this. Along with Jones and Trengove I hope for Colin to experience success after so many years of disappointment. It would be a wonderful reward for their loyalty and dedication to the cause
  4. Not a great job for him. Reckon Daniel will find it difficult to run out on the field and not hunt the ball and tackle blokes. There is only one runner allowed I think these days. You need someone who doesn't go near the ball and can run all day, but he left to play for GWS.
  5. I'm an avid AFL follower living in Far Nth Qld for the last twenty years. I've never embraced Rugby League but in my opinion tonight's GF was way, way better than yesterday's game. Plus it had JT, the man is brilliant
  6. Probably my favourite Titus musing involves Colin and neatly summarises his chances of making a comeback http://titusoreily.com/colin-sylvia-ross-lyon-little-chat/
  7. Best mature age, plucked from obscurity Melbourne recruit since Guy Rigoni?
  8. I know that words written on a club website won't influence potential suitors but that season review for Jeremy sounded very much like a 'used footballer for sale' advert to me
  9. Absolutely agree. He is a very good player and we need mids but I am against the mega-deal offer to any one player. Always just one injury from disaster.
  10. Exactly. This is not a fist pumping Hogan extends till 2021 signing but rather one where the 27th best player who can play back, forward and pinch hit in the ruck extends for the minimum time you can for, no doubt, a modest salary. As a supporter it is a signing you think about for two seconds and go "yep, fair enough"
  11. I agree with that list but I reckon you could add Jeffrey Garlett to it. Something good generally happens when he is has the ball (aside from set shots)
  12. Oh my, well that was fun to watch. The goal at 2.08 where he is on the angle, inside the square and his teammates are pointing to the goals made me laugh. What was that, a 70m kick?
  13. You had better make that two. Goodes was an exceptional footballer and has rightly enjoyed the accolades of success but the cheap shots behind play and staging were unbecoming for a player of his talent. A bit like Joel Selwood and the head ducking that will taint his legacy on retirement
  14. Exactly!! It would be indefensible if we picked up one of the tainted 34 only for him to get banned a couple of months later. The other reason I hate this idea is because for the past 2 years I have fervently hoped that everyone involved in that disgraceful cheating program would be given maximum penalties. If we have one playing for us I'm going to have to barrack for him
  15. Given both Jack and Angus Brayshaw were both drafted as mids, were similar draft picks, are a similar height and both have shown leadership potential at a young age, I figured it may be interesting see how their first years compared Jack - 2010 Games 18 Disposals 343, Ave 19 - 9 kicks, 10 handballs Marks 63 Tackles 75 Clearances 44 Goals 8, Assists 3 Angus - 2015 Games 21 Disposals 267, Ave 13 - 8 kicks, 5 handballs Marks 54 Tackles 99 Clearances 37 Goals 5, Assist 17 Given we rightly laud Brayshaw as a future 200 game player and hopefully one of those to help lead us out of mediocrity, it is good to remember just how good Trengove was. It is bizarre to think that if Angus were to follow the same career path as Jack he would be captain of the club in about 18 months time.
  16. The bloke rightly had a mortgage on the coaches award for a few years. Jordie has squeezed every last bit of talent out of a body that really has no right to be playing AFL footy. Whether you want him pulling on the red and blue or not it is impossible not to admire him I like Jordie for the same reasons I liked Simon Godfrey I am a computer philistine so I can't post it here but YouTube Jordie Mckenzie smother or my favourite tackle that makes me laugh, Jordie McKenzie tackle rnd 14 2011 and check out his desperation on tackling Dusty Whenever Jordie walks out of the club for the last time he will be able to do so with his shoulders back and head held high
  17. Someone on here posted a Yarran highlight reel a while back that was breathtaking. The problem with him though is that his good is as good as you'll see but it doesn't happen often or consistently enough. It would come down to what you would have to pay for him and given Carlton has been watching its discards tearing up the comp lately you would imagine he wouldn't come cheap
  18. And I'm not sure if Bernie knew Adelaide we're going to bundle him off to Melbourne
  19. You are dead right poita but wouldn't that have been a very weird few words to write just a couple of years ago.
  20. He is a riddle wrapped in Jack Viney tackle inside a Jesse Hogan contested mark. Nothing will work him out of there. The singularly most frustrating thing about him is he should be easy to fix. A small change of attitude that makes him to want his tackles to stick, to see ball and desperately want to get ball. A tiny bit more desire and he goes from our 18th most valuable player to easily in our top half dozen. Personally I can't see him going. Is any Club going to value him high enough to offer a worthwhile return on him? Will any Club want to take over what is, no doubt, a fairly handsome contract? I hope he stays and I'm guessing he will
  21. And for feel-good stories if Jack can get over his injuries, time out of the game, being stupidly made the youngest AFL captain ever and being drafted to a Club that rocked from one disaster to another it will be the bestest feel-goodiest story AFL story of all time
  22. Risk V Reward. Given Jack's injury history it is difficult to see him getting back to the form that justified his No. 2 draft spot in his first couple of years in the AFL. High risk But if he can we will have a readymade player who is a great mark for his size, a very good decision maker, has good disposal and exceptional leadership qualities. Also won't take backward steps. High Reward
  23. Agree with all the positive comments so far Brayshaw along with Hogan, Viney, Salem and hopefully, Petracca will form the core group that will drag us up the ladder. Those first four blokes don't possess a backward step between them and will set the tone for this footy club for years to come
  24. Absolutely agree. I can guarantee that the boys that helped coach the women's team (Jacks, Viney and Grimes and Chris Dawes I believe) would have learnt something beneficial in the process. There may have been something that the women's team did differently or in having to think through how to explain a drill or perhaps an alternatate view on things from coach Michelle Cowan There is no way this is just a one way relationship and will certainly be one of the things from this era that we will be able to look back on with some pride.
  25. Must admit I wasnt expecting Collingwood to be the biggest beneficiary of the Clark/Varcoe/Lumumba merry-go-round. Heritier was top 4(?) in the Pies B & F last year and finished 16th for us this year. Started the year in ok form and went slowly backwards from there. Perhaps has an injury that kept from achieving his best form? Either way I'm hopeful of seeing him play some better footy with us next year
