  1. Harmes won’t be in the seniors any time soon with what I’m seeing.
  2. North have had a little purple patch where they’ve had a little control, it’s got scrappy.
  3. Weids struggled this quarter but delivery to him hasn’t been good.
  4. All he can do is get on the end of kicks, and kick the goals. I can really see Sam moving on to another club next year is TMac keeps him out of the team. He’s too good to be playing VFL.
  5. Tyson’s out there is he? Yeesh if he’s not cracking into this North senior team he’s really struggling. He was a solid get for us, we got what we needed from him in the short term and managed to essentially turn him into Ben Brown through pick swapping over the years.
  6. Wish Weid had taken the kick then, a bit more accuracy and finishing and this could be 40+ already ?.
  7. Hit the post! ?‍♂
  8. What’s really pleasing is Casey are playing very similarly to how Melbourne play. There’s a clear sign that both playing groups know how the entire club top to bottom wants to go about their business.
  9. Weid with a good contested mark and finishes with a goal. He’s got two early and the margin is 24pts already.
  10. Weids on the board! NM 0.2.2 Melb 1.1.7
  11. Playing devil’s advocate here, if hypothetically Brown has a quiet couple of games how much time do we give him? Particularly if Weid is showing solid VFL form?
  12. It’s a bit of tough luck for Weid, he’s put in the hard work over pre-season and basically set himself up as the partner to Brown. When Brown went down with his injury you would’ve banked on Weid becoming the number 1 focal point and then he got injured himself. Currently it’s hard to see him getting into the side if TMac continues his sold form (he’s had maybe one sun-par game for the year). Unless he is smashing the door down and one of Brown or TMac doesn’t perform (or if there’s an injury) it’ll be really tough to see him get games. His job is simple right now, make the decision as hard as possible for the selection committee. FWIW I kinda agree that it’s harsh Weid didn’t get first crack when he’s had the better VFL form. But Brown has runs on the board and knows Hobart better than any player in the team.
  13. Very much hoping to be back in Australia for the latter part of the season, quarantine will be totally worth it to watch the Dees live at the G!
  14. I’m excited as anyone but I’m going in with lower expectations, if he kicks 3, has good connection with the midfielder, and gets through unhindered I’ll be happy.
  15. This is very likely MFCSS but we really have to be mindful of not sculling the bath water, we’ve had a great win last week but I want the boys switched on from the outset. The coaches should be pointing to our depth and saying, “if you don’t perform there are guys ready to take your place”. Stay focused Dees. I’m glad BBB is playing but I’m also a little sad he’s not debuting at the MCG. Surely Melksham makes way. Weid very unlucky but TMac in such great form.
  16. Great result for us, a prime time slot also gives good promotion for one of our major sponsors in Tourism NT. It being at night means it will very likely be quite chilly, which you would imagine favours us, not to mention we have experience of playing the ground. I will get there at some point but sadly not next year.
  17. Not having a crack at OP but why would we want him back? His position in the team would be in an area we are currently quite well served. He’d be surplus for our needs. I don’t really have anything against him, I was disappointed we didn’t try harder to keep him but it really did annoy me when he openly said one of the reasons he was happy to be going to Collingwood was to play as a forward. Did nothing as a forward for the Pies, got moved to defence and suddenly commentators were hailing the move as genius. ?
  18. Wait so are they getting upset about how Kozzie got taken high and then decided to point to the scoreboard after he kicked the goal? I’d say that’s the simplest cheeky way of giving a little back, it’s not aggressive or anything, it was the spooky tigers who decided to go on with it afterwards. Reiwoldt’s done plenty worse than that.
  19. Rivers’s spoil was huge (the commentary couldn’t even work out who it was). Highlighted the desperation we had. Totally agree with the sentiments regarding Spargo, I watched the replay and there’s no doubt in my mind his tackle on Houli was a momentum swinger.
  20. If you’re referring to Dusty to be fair Hibberd had put a blanket over him before his injury. Though I do agree we have had some luck with other teams going a man or two down at points during the game.
  21. 100% agree with this. We haven’t won a game in Hobart ever (despite being so close so many times), and we have shown a vulnerability to windy conditions in the past. I think tinkering with the list and not respecting the opposition can blow up in your face big time. By all means give players weeks off if they have niggles but I really believe each player doesn’t want to give up their spot because they’d be worried about getting it back.
  22. I’m not surprised to see where up the pointy end and it’s interesting to think that most of the top clubs in previous years have tended to be up there. It’s because quality players force the opposition to go harder at the man which forces free kicks. The tigers lost their heads big time towards the end of the match and aside from Clarry’s flop I can’t recall there being a lot of really soft calls that went our way. Kozzie’s was 100% fair, Kozzie bumped back into him to get separation and the tigers player copped him high. The deliberate for Nibbler’s amazing snap was harsh but they paid it that way all night. The commentary were harsh on second the Nibbler free kick but he very clearly got him over the shoulder. I actually didn’t think the umpiring was bad this week, it’s just excruciating to hear them constantly yell “stand” for the mark. Particularly one umpire who sounds like his voice has been digitally modified to sound lower.
  23. Much as I want him to improve his kicking he’s getting free kicks for flopping, it’s not the greatest look. That said it was fun hearing Richo sook about it, he was down the moment he realised it was our night.
  24. I just wonder whether we might give Kozzie a management week off, he copped a knock to the knee and a few other niggles throughout the match. Maybe give Bedford or Chandler a go in the small forward/pressure role. Fritta looked totally unaffected by his hand injury, same with May so no need to rest them. I’d be looking at giving Jackson more than 50% ruck time this week, really set him a challenge of being the no 1 ruckman on the day.
  25. Yet another great test of our maturity to not go into the game thinking the 4 points are in the bag. Very common for teams to have a come down from a big match when coming up against lesser teams. Bring the same forward pressure as we did against the tigers and get ourselves a big win.
