The good thing about this year is that because of the closeness of the competition you almost feel like every week is a big week. Upsets and close matches are happening so often that you have to bring it every week.

I think I just threw up a little. No way in hell do I want our coach or players becoming anything like the whining fl0g Scott who always paints his club and players as victims. The only thing I wish the club had done was make this an exchange of apologies, fan apologises for putting his hand on Clayton and the club apologises for Clayton's comments. Both were in the wrong.
-
I agree tbh. Grand scheme of things it's pretty low in the pecking order. He's only in his second year and where I think a lot of players start getting abuse hurled at them is around the 21-22 mark when they hit their straps, he's getting it at 19. This is a learning season in so many ways for him but he'll be fine. Adelaide this week, let's move on.

Certain reporters seem to have this right favourites. Doesn't make great reading if you're on the other side but it is what it is. Haven't got the chance to read too many papers yet but is Nev Jetta continuing to be the forgotten man? The fact he still doesn't get recognition for his craft when for me he IS the best small defender in the game is mind boggling.

They probably had he better of the play, they're a developing team where we were 2-3 years ago, and we were expected to win despite our injuries (which I definitely feel have been underplayed by the media). I'm happy for us to go back to flying under the radar.

I hope the club follows up with a little statement of their own saying something along the lines of "on this occasion we felt Clayton may have overstepped the mark however the fan in question should be cautious in the future about making any physical or verbal contact in the future. The players have enough to concern themselves on the field and should not have to deal with unnecessary physical contact from patrons." Clarry's comments were probably too far, didn't need to say he'll kill the [censored]. But this idiot shouldn't get off scot free either, the price of admission doesn't cover you getting up in the face and touching the players. If he's a member, Carlton should put him on probation. Both were in the wrong in their own ways.

This guy is clearly a typical slimy Carlton fan dining out of his 15min of fame. He's probably done this sort of crap to 100s of other players hoping for a reaction and when one comes his way and he goes sooking. That said, Clarry needs to keep a cooler head and watch what he says. Hell if he'd said, "don't ever f****** touch me again" then I'd say no troubles whatsoever. But to add on "I'll kill you" was hot blooded. But as many have said, he's 19 years old!!!! He's copping so much crap because he's having such an amazing year for a youngster and done one thing, ONE THING that people perceived as soft. That fat [censored] should jump the fence and see how he'd go in the middle of AFL scrimmages. He's the weak one. A mouth (and face) like that I'm sure he's had a few clock him over the years.

I would imagine the "you" was plural as we were well beaten by the Swans last week and have lost key players to injury.

Wasn't named in the best by AFL.com.au, still somehow flies under the radar. Certainly not for Dees fans though. I love that little guy!

Ever since Oliver copped the elbow to his chin he has become a target for every keyboard warrior and weak dog protected by a fence at the footy. He is 19 years old and while he's got a very good head on him and doesn't seem to worry about giving it back, look at how many players are starting to come out saying they have depression etc. These fl0gs seems to feel like it's their right and privilege to get stuck into a bloke who's only crime was being clocked on the chin and being a bit stunned by it. These people are weak, they expect him to get abuse and not give it back, one has learned that's not the case. He should have his membership put on probation for abusing a player.
-
I pretty much expected whichever way it would go it was going to be very scrappy and very tight. This win can't be underestimated, many of our key players missing, and against a team that has been difficult to finish off this year. This win won't go down as big for the media people (they'll probably focus on Oliver's incident with the fan), but it's big for our year.
-
Earlier in the year he was very uncertain in front of goal but boy that has changed (I too hope I'm not putting the moz on). He seems to have a very set and clean routine that's just working a treat.
-
We've moved him there out of necessity, but he's really enjoying his footy and he's got some of the best hands at the club. I think we've pulled a new Neitz out of the bag (good defender turned forward). He's looking very much at home there.
-
That was the impression I got on the radio, they were mostly praising him. Sounded like he did a few important acts of courage.

I think Vince should be dropped. The club has taken a hard nosed policy in the past with various players, Vince is a leader but is having a very poor year. He started well, but then he copped the toe injury. I'm not sure if it's a hangover effect from it but he's been making a lot of bad decisions which has nothing to do with his toe. Stretch as well could benefit from the VFL time, he's been up and down this year playing some very good games but some very poor ones. This was certainly seems to fall into the latter.
-
Hogan has played enough games and will be better for the run, I would've been happy for him to return through the VFL if that was his choice but he's a gun and will do better from getting the pace of AFL back in his system. I think it was a good move playing him further up the ground, got him more involved in the play even if he wasn't particularly great. Make him a true CHF for a while, play Pedders as a second forward and then when it looks like he's got his mojo back swap them around.

Richmond, Geelong, and GWS have got away with a few as well. It's that kind of season. No one is a safe bet (I get the feeling the bookies have done well this year), but games like this when you know your side wasn't the better team on he day but somehow got the win are so crucial to the overall season. Blues fans would be frustrated right now, but they were the better team in just about every stat except the one that mattered. The scoreboard!
-
Totally agree, how is a kid that's been put with a shoulder injury straight back in after one game? Seemed like a very strange selection when we probably needed someone with senior experience given our injury list.
-
And can they just go ahead and elevate Nev to the leadership group? Has been huge this year.
-
Can someone rate how the leaders went today? Obviously "Plugger" Mac did his role, how about everyone else?
-
Ugly but a win is a win!
-
We can't seem to get it out of our defence.
-
Blues would be saying the same thing about Cripps. We're missing players, they're down 2 on the bench including one of their most prolific midfielders.
-
Leaders!!!! Step the F up!!!!

All I'm reading is poor by Lewis, I didn't even hear his name called.
