  1. The game was lost when we didn't kick straight imo. So many blind pings at the sticks thay went out on the full too. Didn't deserve to win but could have with a bit more polish on the execution in front of goals. Keen to see VanRoyen, Chandler, Barry and a few others get a shot next year. Hoping Salem can stay fit and recapture his best form too
  2. We limped to the end of the season in more ways than one. Still out best will be good enough for a few more seasons yet. 🤞 for a better run with injury and form next year. Go dees
  3. I think we'll smash the lions and book ourselves a prelim spot. After that anything is possible. Carn boys
  4. JVR vs TMac for the Lions match. And will they pull the trigger or stick with the same structure that smashed them in the H and A?
  5. I said post match that harmes would be our only change through suspension. That didn't eventuate. I think Joel Smith, Roo or even Weid has to come in. We need more marking targets. I'd keep Milkshake in even though his game was very poor. He's had some good games, including against the lions I'd probably drop Spargo who hasn't done a great deal for a number of weeks. I'd be tempted to rest Petracca but I trust the doctors to make the right call. Going to be a long week!
  6. I'm predicting no change but wouldn't be surprised to see Harmes get a week for his late hit tbh.
  7. Honestly if Melksham and a few others hadn't had terrible games we could have won. Small moments matter in finals and we [censored] the bed in front of goals in the 2nd half. stings hut we have a 2nd chance
  8. I obviously don't watch enough footy Is, Is there another ruck in the squad aside from Gawn? Absolute Monty for 6th jacket and probably the C too
  9. Keen to hear you all discuss the Backline make up in this game, and moving forward. Salem's withdrawal didn't seem to effect us all that much, with Rivers in particular playing with some noticeable dare and dash. Is assume Salem must come back in, so there will be a finals hard luck story in the backline again this year by the looks.
  10. Thankfully the last month of footy has also helped me get accustomed to dealing with big match nerves 😅 I'm not really fussed who we play, where or when. Confident that our best trumps the rest.
  11. Conjecture aside It's great to see the lads play with heart and confidence. That come from behind victory against the blues could be a real spring board for us.
  12. When we play good footy it's hard to make a case for many changes. Salem is arguably my favourite player but even still it's a tough call to drop bowser for him TMac getting back is wild. Not sure who would make way for him structurally because Milkshake has done very well. Tmac as a sub could work
  13. Hunt was great. Great op too Never thought I'd see the day but we didn't miss Salem. River played a blinder too
  14. So just admit you don't want to pay for the airfares and park the melodramatic hand wringing after our best win of the year!
  15. Richo said it was something about a family member. Good to see the boys fly the flag for their mate
  16. Leave it out. Just destroyed a fellow contender in their home deck. Smiles all round
  17. I don't discount it completely. My issue /difference in opinion right now is the time left in the season. I can't see how we have time left in the season to lighten loads and and freshen up to the extent that we'll be swarming forward and playing a considerably different brand of footy than we've seen of late. These guys are coming off a very high fitness base so I think the improvements will be incremental rather than significant. Add to the equation that were playing finals like games whilst the tappering process is presumably being played out - to assume that a week or 2 can have such a significant impact seems like wishful thinking to me. Most of the guys are spending alot of the week recovering from niggles.... If I'm going to steadfastly assume we'll recapture the 2021 finals form, I'm almost more likley to side with those that talk about Goody playing ropeadope coaching tactics. Perhaps the improvement come finals will be a refinement/tweak in style against an opponent that has studied our Home and Away method to death and is unable to react to an in-game change to that method. More realistically I think were playing at a level that is quite close to our best footy and we're facing stiffer opposition from the other contenders in what is a unprecedented season in terms of competitiveness across the 18 sides in the league. Agree to disagree
  18. The unwavering faith in our ills being predominantly fitness related is impressive. I think we stack up well against the Lions so I agree with the predicted result, but not because our side is an incrementally fresher team than the one that took on Carlton in a brusing affair.
  19. Great listen as usual. Surprised that Binman is still talking up Loading as being such a major factor to our form. There's 1 round to go not 6. Sure we can be fresher but the difference between 1st round of finals and now will be incremental at best.
  20. Has anyone watched the replay and found this? It needs to be turned into a gif haba
  21. Agree with the sentiment of the OP (no change is likley) but i think Spargo and maybe Sparrow or Jordan needs a rest. Freshen up the forward line a little and add some dash - hoping it would provide a similar outcome to the recent re-addition of Hunt in the backline. In. Chandler, Harmes Out. Spargo, Sparrow
