I 100% sure they will have a massive crack at him. B) Scully is perfect for them and they will leave no stone un-turned to get him. You can bet your house on that one.
We will just have to sit back wait and watch how their (Tigers) season unfolds, which will determine their ability to get the job done.
I'm just hoping he is prepared to "stick fat" with us for less money. However, only time will tell on that one.
How would the Tigers be able to offer more money than us?

Good to see you here Chop.
Theres a few old Demonologists here, you will spot them!
Welcome

But but but...f-f-f-facebook says he isn't a fan of us!!!!
-
I cant believe we are even considering another training venue after just moving into our state-of-the-art facilities just a 10 minute stroll from our admin department at the Gee. The spacious gym is shared with Storm and Victory which promotes the "Melbourne" sporting brand and an obvious cost saving for us.
If it is going to be better, then why not? And it would be a 1 second walk to our admin department, because it would all be in the same place.
Im sure we wont be moving from a spacious gym to a broom closet - we would be getting even better.

Bail deserves one just as much as Bennell IMO.
Having said that, I'd rather see him stay 44.
Im pretty sure Bail requested 44 IIRC so he wont be changing

Aaron davey talking to him on the phone for ten minutes? is there a chance thats cause hes the new skipper?
Petterd had lunch with Howe and also has been spending alot of time with Jack Viney.
Who says we dont have any leaders?
-
So...
Who's a fan of shunning Col Sylvia the No. 12 guernsey and gifting it to young J, Viney???
Reckon Jack would be keen on wearing his old man's number?
Will he want to carve his own path ala G. Ablett Jnr?
No thanks. Give him 11

Up to 15,123 today. Up from 14,292 on Monday. Busy staff in the membership processing department since Monday!
-
what is he then genuis
Would have thought that means he can play other positions on the ground. Not that hard. He is saying he is a backman, but not solely. Cant see why the need for the smartass reply.
-
you could be disappointed and without a membership for 2011.
i can't understand members who sulk and react the way they do - such as this - when decisions are made in the clubs interests by the club and not the fan. taking a stand against a giant being quite possibly rookied - 'rookied!'
Did you miss the bit where he said "not really"?
-
I wouldn't necessarily assume anything - it could be a courtesy to a player who has given good service to enable him to training at AFL level to maximise his opportunities. Same with Tom McNamara.
That said I do think we need to rookie a mature ruckman as back-up for Jamar and Spencer - if both of them got injured our whole season could be de-railed.
Yeah I don't believe I was assuming anything. I, like E25 am certain we won't, but I can't see why he would be training with us.
-
He deserved a couple more years on a rookie list. Hasn't had enough!
-
Well said on both counts MikeyJ.
Agreed. Well said Mikey Jackson.
-
Hmmmmm PJ...didn't think he would be rookied but looks like it's a possibility

But yeah, it doesn't seem the FD are really showing much confidence in our current structure...
What The Hell is going on with reports they are now looking at Ash "WAFL King" Hansen?!?
Obviously they think we are one extra tall short, but gimme a break - neither Hale nor Hansen could even crack a game in the Kangas/ Worst Team In The AFL, and now we wanna bring that type of shite into our emerging squad? [censored] please!
All we really need is another ruck to make his mark, so Jamar can have a rest/ be tall target - was a good pack mark at FF, but i guess can't really be the long term answer...hopefully the rooks develop quick OR an actual key position player of some quality (as opposed to being Best Of Whats Left!) becomes available
There are no reports we are looking at Hansen. There is, however, [censored] poor journalism stating we will probably be interested.

Viney. Lock it in Schwabby

A few thoughts here in E25's thread

This is going to be such a huge year. In year's gone by we'd be praying for HUGE improvement from about 6 guys, of which one or two would get better, and 3 would drop off, with maybe one big surprise. As it is, only 3 or 4 players on the list you would say don't have any improvement left in them. I couldn't see Jamar, Frawley or Green playing any better than they did... The list is going to have a massive upswing either this year or next... And I'm picking this year.
Oh Frawley will get better, no doubt. This is just the beginning

The website today is showing 14,292

I understand all of the above comments, however we also now have 3 tall forwards under 21, and although Howe may be of size Watts and Cook are still lean. Hanson is a premiership player and to have him on the rookie list to try and guide and teach our young forwards isn't the worst idea.
That said, if there is young good talent available for the FD to pickup in the rookie I would certainly suggest taking that first. Sorry just abit of devil's advocate
He may be a premiership player, but he is an absolute shadow of that premiership player.

I can not see one logical reason (apart from the fact he was a demons supporter as a kid
) to draft Ashley Hansen.
I find it bizarre that we are even discussing it at this length

Two words daisy....off season

but if he played AFL in his younger days, he would have one a browlow.
Slightly exaggerating GM?
EFL Div 2 - not a bad effort. I wonder why he doesn't play at a higher level (Div 1 or VFL). Do you know him GM? If so, does he just prefer the local club environment?
-
Gullan writes: "The shock axing of Hansen less than 24 hours after the national draft has been the talk of recruiting circles over the weekend as clubs look towards next month's pre-season and rookie drafts."
It would appear that at least some AFL FD officials hold a different view.
Yeah that's excellent. But we just delisted a mature underperforming 27 year old forward didn't we?
Some might be, but I doubt it's us. Would be extremely surprised. Why would we want a quick fix? He isn't even a ruck/forward like we wanted.
