  1. And where is this gem coming from?
  2. I just don't like white....it looks insipid and too familiar to other clubs versions. I do like the red offerings as at least they stay within the same color and I cannot understand why we don't use them? As suggested we still look like a football team in the red number. Further, there seems to be many offerings with the MFC logo similar to Fitzroy's? Am I imagining or can I take from this that it stands a chance to form part of the new emblem?
  3. Was a great day yesterday run very well by the club.....all players were great with the kids. Didn't get close to seeing the new facilities which was a bit disappointing as I had hoped to catch a glimpse. (It has been nice to see Bartram & MacDonald eating breakfast in the new place - cheers C Schwab for the twitter pics!) I guess that this ties back with the fact that it is not quite yet ready/completed to show off to everyone. I would imagine the same applies with the actual oval we now use to train on. Collingwoods oval is quite obvious as it has all sponsor related signs surrounding the oval. Hopefully ours will have the same to highlight and distinguish the place as ours. I am sure it will be done over the off season perhaps? But overall am rapt we do have a place to call ours finally!!
  4. Of course...he took the greatest mark ever (arguably) as a demon!
  5. If Port want that deal...done!! Way under the odds on our part....
  6. Yeah went along with my boy today. Great day by the club!
  7. Newton surely has had his chances? Even as a comparison to Miller which seems to have happened a bit I would have it that Miller was actually more promising early in his career than Newton ever has been (except for Newton's launch at Docklands!). The guy has had his chances hasn't he? Even if not, he has to put a few good games together for Casey at least, not just the one? I can see some merit in him as a second ruck but doesn't Spence deserve just as much as a right to have a crack for some part of the remainder of the year?
  8. Chipper is a star!!!
  9. The less said about the white the better.....just don't like it. Essendon only have that larger red sash as an away, not sure if they will go with that. They are the only team I have some difficulty distinguishing at times when we play them. Now that I think about it I can't actually remember the last time we played Essendon as the home side?!!! There's a question - when was our last home game against Essendon? I know we have played them at the 'G but as the home side? Surely we wouldn't be made to wear the white as the home side? Maybe they should be made to come up with an insipid white jumper to wear against us?
  10. Bit harsh...he was ok against Goddard, a fair assignment with which to prove yourself in first game of the year! Not sure he was worth 5 votes....Trengove & Chip clearly best.
  11. Should we really run Jamar into the ground for the remainder of the season when looking at the bigger picture, ie - 2011/2012 and onwards? I think this needs to be part of the argument as the Sylvia's/Miller's that have chopped out Russian have struggled. Big Spence has a long long way to go, but IMO there is some upside to him. It was mentioned how unco Cox was early in his career (I guess this was why he was rookie listed!) but look at him now. The ball seems to find him a bit, like a 3rd man bowler trying to avoid a catch in front of Bay 13 maybe! But I reckon he could get better. It would not be good if Russian went missing and Spence carried the load. We might even sneak a peak at Fitpatrick late in the year?
  12. Nah don't second guess yourself....reckon it is very valid and it has been good to see Watts steadily improve. I think your right that Jurrah might need some more time, Gotch said as much in his VFL review. But he also added how he pretty much tore the game apart! What to do?!!
  13. Mmmm...yeah that's a reasonable point of view. Well put....but I think the sooner the better that they start to play together it will be more a benefit.
  14. SNAP!
  15. He got one of those suspensions that went over 100 pts or 125 or whatever it is and with the early plea, reduced the sentence so he didn't actually miss a week. But the fact that the charge was over 100 pts it means he is ineligible....silly really. Like the McKernan/Grant Brownlow!
  16. Cheers 13th/Inner Demon....thought it might have to do with it not being quite completed. May also tie in with the release of the new emblem? I guess if it is visible within any area of the new facility that they don't want to let anything out of the bag until everything is done.
  17. Firstly, I think this is the 3rd thread I've started today so sorry for bombarding those that are nonplussed!! Anyway, it was mentioned last week about the lack of publicity that our new training base and home at AAMI Park/Goschs Oval had received. I find that a little bit disappointing to tell the truth considering the many years we have had to wait for a decent 'home base'. Unfortunately I work long days and may have missed any news reports on this but even still I think we have lacked highlighting this great move. Is everything within the training facility actually completed? Is this a reason for the lack of publicity. I am taking my son along to the junior clinic tomorrow which is being held at the new training base so hope to get a better look then.
  18. To those that know what this emblem looks like......please share!! Am hanging to see it!
  19. Had a read of the game day thread yesterday and yes that thread was nothing but a load of tripe really!! The negativity there was astounding and it was obvious the people who were not at the game. Glad that some can stay a bit sane when reviewing performances. Can see your point Eth, I am very positive!
  20. Just had a read of the of the game yesterday and Hanneberry was impressive again. Seemingly will keep this pace for the remainder of the year. Going to be a tight race this year.
  21. Riv won on his composure and courage for a 19 yr old. His strength in reading the playing and taking courageous marks. His strength is still his ability to zone off but he needs more in his game, running off half back and using it.
  22. Agree agree and suggest that people look at St Kilda....the A-graders are obvious but they drop away for PURE talent IMO. Just that they are so well drilled to perform their role each week.
  23. Red Sox

    Ben Cousins

    Well said guys!!
  24. I think it was Whispering Jack that nominated Tom McNamara as Demonland Missing Player of the week this week. Seeing as Strauss has been injured Tom may have been given a chance with Grimes injury. Pity that we wont get to see him as I think he could offer something it is injury such as Grimes that will get him an opportunity. Not good timing for Tom to be the recipient of the award this week!
  25. I'm pretty new to Demonland.....have been astounded by the amount of negative threads/posts about another certain youngster of ours who I think is looking better each week but also just as surprised at the lack of threads/comments on Skull & JT. Maybe I missed the early excitement? Two of the more exciting youngsters that I have seen come onto our list in my time and we are all very lucky that we will get to watch them, together for many years to come. Is it that we have a certain expectation of them already that it has been a bit quiet? The two of them are going to be 'genuine stars' of the game.....hopefully superstars!
