  1. Prepare for more Hogan going home threads.
  2. Sounds like Gil would be all for that.....great idea.
  3. Realistically it is highly unlikely that all of those you mention will ever reach what is hoped of them, but even if half do, yes, exciting times ahead.
  4. Just waiting for some here to label him an injury prone dud :-(
  5. OMG I hope he delivers one hell of a lot more than H ?
  6. Are you serious? That would mean the AFL treating MFC and EFC in an even handed manner, like alternating home games and not having one club monopolizing for a decade.
  7. Just love your positive outlook, jumbo. When will the next species-extinction meteor strike occur? Gosh, could be next year’ grand Final day ?
  8. I believe that Garry also thought that Mark Neeld would be Norm Smith reincarnated.
  9. You cynic - Col just needs one good preseason to be a superstar.
  10. praha - surely you are aware that the AFL have never had the slightest interest in a fair system: they want one that maximizes revenue by ensuring that the “important teams” have a near monopoly on prime time games, ensuring the cycle of dependency for the “lesser clubs” who play Sunday twilight.
  11. To those in the know - what do you see as his rôle? inside / outside mid, flank?
  12. Have only seen these highlights.....does anyone who has seen more of him (Callum Coleman Jones) think he could make that missing forward / ruck back up position, rather than just a back up ruck (who may not get much opportunity hopefully if Max stays fit and in form)?
  13. Chazz. No doubt he is fully aware of what he needs to do to stay on the list without being told straight out.......and if he doesn’t know then he doesn’t care enough to be retained.
  14. Well Gil follows the compulsion of his predecessors to make at least one rule change every season. Pity he can’t think for himself, and / or leave the rules alone for at least one year.
  15. But then, nor are half hearted tackles.
  16. I couldn't agree more and I have made the point before. It is time these guys learn to work their butts off to make their number famous, not cling to the coattails of those who have gone before them. Jack Viney is a classic example - could have had his dad's number (after Col moved on) or just about any other number that was not in use, but chose to make number 7 famous on the basis of what he chose to do. Liam Jurrah #48 - an absolute excitement machine: #24 not even half of what he was before.
  17. More the surprise is why they recruited him in the first place, given their penchant for kicking skills and competitiveness
  18. Jesse is clearly angling for a pay rise as he can’t afford socks, or a jacket that fits him.
  19. Maybe now he is (looks) a lot more physical he will play at a higher level too.
  20. That what our players thought before the final round this year.....and several times in the past. Nothing is a Monty until it is. Surely not being in a professional environment is no excuse for turning up NQR.....many amateur non footballers run themselves into tip top fitness without being told to.
  21. I guess ever if he doesn’t actually join in training he will surely be at the club and involved getting to know and integrating with his new team mates. Only took 10 posts for the name JW to be mentioned ?? Presumably the word he is generic and all inclusive. ?
  22. Nice goal - but then I kicked one nice goal in the Ammos U19 s once too, way back when MFC played finals every year.
  23. I tend to agree - other than his well publicized brain fade he just works hard and often unnoticed. Hopefully he will return chastened and with all to prove. ( Still regard him as a fringe player - the “incident” will make or break him IMO.
  24. If Jesse could play with half the dedication, commitment and never say die attitude as did the Ox we will have a genuine star. One of the reasons I asked earlier whether Ox does any time at the Club, mentoring or guiding. (Hopefully could help the Weed show what his true talents are) Presumably never saw him play live, especially the end part of the 94 season. IMO, and this is a forum of opinions, Ox is a very natural media performance with none of the absolute BS meaningless banter, usually mistakenly in the name of humor, we hear on just about every other commercial station, sporting or just general drive (better termed drive with a “l” at the end).
  25. I would like it were he to spend some time with Jesse and Weed ( and maybe Tommy) advising and encouraging even if not in any formal capacity.
