Correct.

Exactly. We felt at the game from first bounce they were ' on'. And their outside run showed us up for pace and the rest followed. I was impressed we got back into it after a bad first 1/4. but weaknesses exposed gives Goodwin something to work on for second 1/2. Better now . The pies are the real thing and wer'e not as good as we think.

Smart post. McGuire has done this before; Introducing him as a "...Superstar..." Really? I have felt he has been overrated all year and was showed up in endeavour by Joel Smith, spargo in tight spots , and a few others. I'm not sure what his tricks/strengths are either. Seriously worried if he can make it.

This guy is ready. Esp given strong handover period with Jackson in the background

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 12

Poor grammar by joffa. It should read "..THOSE demon flogs...". Sheeesh. Magpie morons. -
Brillant that oliver gets the recognition. Clearly deemed to be best inside mid. Which he is.

Salary Cap rorter @crows.. Are you kidding?

Can someone put up a link to this. It was insightful and amusing at the same time. Garry Lyon nearly"... fell off his bike..." when he heard the new yesterday, so happy was he!
-
Correct. Close this thread for irrelevancy. It about New Ltd. causing outrage so we all talk about them. Lets deny our oxygen. And of course Grundy is in - he's Collingwood, the papers main reading audience to whom this team is targeted .
-
Rounds out the vision nicely. Good work and highly believable.

Chairman Glenn Bartlett is former Managing Partner of Australia toughest Tier 1 legal firm Clayton Utz. I reckon he'll have Gill covered.

Bif day for the marketing Dept. AND the recruiting team. The sales pitch now to Gaff, Wines or anyone else of quality can be: "... how would you like to kick the ball into a Hogan/TMac forward line..." Sign here!

Give him a break. Kane Cornes tips Dees for the premiership and re-confirmed last Friday again before the dogs game on his SEN show. -
No-one seems to be talking about Joel Smith lately in these threads. Can anyone advise thoughts on him as an option?

Jake Lever injury - Confirmed ACL
Demon17 replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Success in converting strong inside 50's into winning sores coincided with lots of things, but primarily T Mac coming back, with huge flwo on effects on Hogan, and mids who finally had targets, but Lever was important also. However his replacement will merge into the best defence in the league - Hibberd, Jetta Salem, Lewis and OMac. Plus a top line midfield that helps protect them. I would be more mortified in losing Gawn, T mac Hogan , Viney, Oliver, Brayshaw,, Jones........... Just the debate on here about Lever' s replacement has thrown up 4 or 5 options. For any of the above there is no-one capable of filling any of these shoes in tersm of quality. QB will tell though -
Correct. Enough was enough for goodwin.

Brilliant first paragraph lt. The fawning by darcy at the post match was sickening. Empty vessel commentator so common on ch 7 ( excl daisy who seems smarter than all of them)
-
In the spirit of trying to rationalize levers loss i have gone over joeboys above list which i thinl is a great summary of all snd counted 15 names i would be equally devastated to lose. Once upon a time that numbet might have been 5 ish. If goodwin can fill tjis loss adequately recognising levers value may not be replicated i think the fundamentals are still sound. Q B will tell us.

Completely agree.. Again on todays game spargo showed he's made this position his own. Lowers his eyes . Chases. Beautiful kick. Hard runner. Mature beyond his years in a tight spot. Doesn't panic. Lets all move on.

Clarry "one of the best to emerge in last 20 years"
Demon17 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
As the great John McEnroe said: "...you cannot be serious.." Do you understand the various leadership qualiites? Such as " follow me" as a prime example, train hard, play hard, look how I play ... etc. -

Demon17 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Its interesting that from the start he's had a lot to say on the field at set up time, prior to centre bounce etc. , contributing to the disicussions with Jones, Gawn, Viney. He was very vocal yesterday. Just feels like a leader and belongs in the engine room. He said a few weeks ago his re-signing was a "..no brainer..." He's part of the scariest demon midfield Iv'e seen (since 1967) -

Be accurate and in context: He said: "..Not convinced just yet. Going very very well but not getting carried away. THE in form team and the way they win has been impressive..." . "... Roos did exactly what he was paid to do..." "... Lever absolutely superb..." "...a successful and seamless succession plan..." Darcy, Brown, McClure and Taylor say unselfish, modest, balanaced and can win the flag. Reasonable assessment by the Duck. He has consistently been upbeat this year. Who cares anyway - i bet Goodwin doesn't. -
That they were thinking about Lever means lost focus on real issues of game plan, structures etc. Lever's first contested win occurred in the first 5 minutes and set the pattern. Unproductive and displays lack of recogntion this is a professional game and they still have the Adelaide inferiority complex. As Morpheous in the Matrix says, they are an ' artificail construct' , not a real team like Port Adelaide or Freo. You want a career? - leave Adelaide and come to the east coast is the standard saying ex-Adelaide people say to me.

It should be considerreed for many of the younger players, esp. Spargo, that they need the experienece of Queens Birthday to prepare for finals atmosphere. Resting him this week is counter productive in this regard unless he's injured. 80,000 crowd possibly and they need to be prepared for a big stage. I have great faith in medical team. If he plays he will be OK to play and not a risk.

No it didnt. Appalling effort it final game and inability to kill a side for% cost the finals. Viney did his own thing in an effort to get back early when he was advised that 9 weeks off was needed. Look what happened. Gawn jones and watts were all effectively managed. Tmac and the team have done the right thing all along this year.
