You describe the solution well. Giants are not grabbing market in Western Sydney and never will. Gc folding likewise for the same reasons. But requires afl to admit mistakes. They are incapable of that. And a 20th team in Darwin with a population a bit over 100k is fanciful.

A wonderful Saturday morning. Blues flogged Cats flogged. Now for Dee's to win by .......
-
Just going by history but will be fascinating to see who might slip. I reckon cats are in trouble
-
10.am. then club members after that at 12 or 2 I think
-
I reckon final 8 is now set. With pies finally making it. Probably best 8 teams. No going to brissie for finals this year.
-
This week and next can see us consolidate Top 4 for now. The results so far show GWS has beaten no-one of significance- yes the Pies but they were rubbish in Round1, and same for Cats. Now both their slides commence having been over rated by the media. Our 6-3 so far would have been grabbed by many on here if offered befroe start of season. Blues game had positives in many regards but showed problems that the MC have time to seek solutions. Some players due back also wil improve. 3rd or 4th is ours if we want it badly enough, and under Max and Viney et al that will be the case.

I suspect we're witnessing in slow motion the demise of the cats vaunted midfield. Selwood gone danger at 34 and soft tissues cam Guthrie etc. Hawkins finishing up. Scott will struggle with this I suspect

Reserved seating is the issue price wise.
-
Plenty in Geelong have no hope of affording a seat at the new stadium. Elites only unfortunately

It's simply to avoid losing viewers who switch off. Like me. Always do this talking up the alleged drama. Keep the interest. Sheeesh

Me too wa. I think last night could be the fire the team needs to get the job done for rest of year. I'm not pollyanna but have us 3rd after round 15 on my ladder predictor and our run home could be worse. As Goody said at the presser the boys were hurting after the loss. Others watching the final 1/4 will take notice of the resilience as did vossy in his presser

I was expecting to win one of cats or blues. 6 -3 so move on as you say. Proud of this team and we had a psychological win over blues tonight that will stand us well in September. Still have forward woes though. But my effort on ladder predictor has us 3rd after round 15 and carlscum 9th

They ARE starting to respect us!

On the Couch last noted I think by Buckley and brown noted last weeks Cats game was Goodwin's finest coaching effort strategically. Lyon also noted there's no discussion now on Demons culture (thanks Doggies, MRO and other newsmakers) but was bemused that "...some..." media scribes still have an issue for "...unknown reasons..." Fantastic exposure opportuniy this week for the team. And those 5 players with less than 10 games. Great grounding for finals-like atmosphere. -
Steven May said post match the predominantly demon crowd noise positively impacted last night. Kudos to your lot leading the passion. Watch frittas goal again and zone in on the individual scenes of sheer disbelief and mayhem behind the goals of many demon army members. Worth a highlight reel of its own imo

I wonder if turner has an effect. He looked like he belonged last night and imposes himself being one more big forward who's good in the air and needs a good defender. Does this assist Harrison? I think we saw our best forward set up last night. Should have had 5 more goals with improved composure.

He's a commentary lightweight now and should retire. It was emabarrassing last night on how thoughfully Jack Reiwoldt dissected the game and provided sensible comemmenary juxtaposed to dermie who was basically lazy. Saying the Cats could have won had they kicked better, , but ignored the dominanane of the Dees in 3rd quarter by only kicked 2.7 from many easy chances. Same - same. I'll look forward the Joey Montagna's take tonight then basically ignore media prognosticators rest of the week. (Not) looking at you Kingy

Possibly. The difference is that Gus had been clear fro 5 years and conquored the concussion issue. Wright well and truly stopped his career. Murphy sadly was being concussed more regulalrly in recent times. John Somerville ( with whose son Peter I worked with year ago) said the same about his late father. I called this out ro a good Pies friend who was mouthing off about the issue. Didn;t like it and it touched a nerve.

What a way to start Game Day. Reading the Age's back page lead article this morning on big Max. Greatest ruckman of this century says Luke Darcy (with Cox), and has most AA selections of any ruckman, level with Madden and Cox. Nice one Max. But leadership qualities to go with it. Like watching Petracca and co its a blessing to be watching this team and probably a generational talent pool of a players group. Worth a pre-game read to settle the nerves.

Except the 2021 prelim that is.
-
Just call out Maynard for what/who he is. The Duncan Wright of the 2000's. Forever has the legacy of forcing Gus to retire.
-
Great insight from Jake Lever on last night's on the couch. I love the way the afl Community talk of May and Lever as a unit. They are forever linked. And BTW. Notice how Buckley commented that Jake left the Crows to join "...a big Victorian club...". That's the Dee's I guess. Good one Bucks. Pert would have loved that. I did.

So doesn't that tell you something after the heroics of Adelaide? After 5 minutes everyone at the ground could see we were cooked, for whatever reason and theories abound (short breaks, sleeping ina hotel for a week, lots of kids on tour, away games, emotional high - I'm a fan of all of these contributing) , but that's the situation. They owned us and we lost by only 22 points, another paradox. On Anzac Eve, as predicted by Fox panel, both teams were rusty in the extreme, and class showed out once warmed up. Problems sure but we need a deep breath taken on here. Iv'e always been a huge fan of Disco's since he played a blinder of an first game opening 1/4 before I think his jaw was broken from memory. Big take out from this week's game. Upside a - plenty. Go Dees

“Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but the highest form of intelligence.” My apologies to original poster, as noted by Oscar Wilde's original quote from yesteryear. Go Dees tonight.
-
Fabulous result given the shambles that has been the first 6 rounds of the season fixture and location-wise. Go Dees and thanks George .

I love sarcasm even though it's the lowest form of humour. I'll keep an eye out for it in future.
