  1. heading today, sitting in the olympic stand row c, whats the weather like, i think we'll be packing raincoats
  2. Kent has to kick on his right, first time I've seen that. Don't want to see it again. on the full
  3. if we kicked what we normally would, we would have won this
  4. why don't they pay throws anymore? wines just swiped it up off the ground and scooped it out, the umpire was 20m away
  5. that was a terrible effort by garland on the boundary that lead straight to a power goal
  6. starting to win some contests now. need to convert our chances
  7. Port are all over the zone, be a tuff afternoon.
  8. Kents delivery into the forward line has been woeful both times.
  9. this umpiring has cost us 2 goals, hands in the back to o mac and high on gawn
  10. My mates a bulldogs supporter and just asked what he thought we'd go like today and she said the team seemed up but half a dozen players were a bit ill, he sent me the three names and tyson, my mate loves winding me up at the same time, but the illness seems to check out. Could be pulling my leg on the other names, but Tyson was correct.
  11. once they cross the line they're fit, if they have a bit of a bug, or winter cold, then run through it for 2 hours and they're done. every club has bugs go through the team but still field 22 players. I got a text saying that about 6 players were carrying a bit of an illness. First time I've ever got "inside info" and posted it. A friend was out for dinner with someone that works at the club last night.
  12. Hurley would be the obvious one to chase with a lot of people suggesting Day, but he can have big disposal errors and not that great one on one. There's a kid at GWS that got some games early with all there injuries last year, Caleb Marchbank, Competed well for a young kid, was drafted at 193cm but may have grown since then, but I'd rather a player giving away 5-7cm and being a competitor who is a better player. He seemed quite composed and made good decisions, left his man at the right time to help out his team mates and really showed a bit. Was drafted in 2014 and is 20 years old now. Better skills and I thought better positioning then O'Mac. I hope we go after him. With Davis and the like playing well would be waiting a while for a game.
  13. while I think we will lose some of the games I looked at thinking we can win, the Hawthorn one is one that I think the players will really get them selves up for. Hawthorns midfield isn't what it used to be, and if Gawn gets on top of McEvoy then our contested ball winning mids should get first use. If we close down Smith or he has an off day, this will go a long way to pushing them. But lightly they are not being taken. Our zone seems to fail when fast players get on top and break our lines. Hawks still seem to be playing the short hit up style out of defence, which we have defended against well. As for the 8, I see our return game against St Kilda as a must win and don't think we will, they just spread too quick and break our zone. Beating Port twice and the old eight point game against Adelaide. But as a young team I wouldn't be surprised if we put in some real shocking performances against teams that we would be favourites against and then play some good games against good opponents, Like the Hawks game I picked out. Hopefully we start putting it together consistently, because our best will beat some of the top 6 teams, but our worst loses to essendon. If we can start playing badly and still beating teams like Brisbane, Collingwood, tigs, and the like with only the occasional loss then I think we will all be happy supporters playing finals or not. So after writing all of that, it looks like I'm the ultimate fence sitter on taking a punt on us making the 8. How good is it having a competitive that we can talk about winning some of these games. It seemed so far off just a couple of years ago.
  14. just had a look at the fixture, Adelaide have some tricky games coming up against Giants, saints, eagles and the roos. The us as the bye rounds come to an end. we could be a game clear in 8th and i think we'll push the hawks.
  15. I'm interested in how Dawes went, did he run out the game and also start holding some marks? I think we could use him in a hit up marking link if he's leading and marking well.
  16. GAJ should be playing forward, clearly carrying a calf, the explosiveness is gone and his sidestep and evasivness is non existent. Again I don't like Vince in the back line, if he's going to play a flank i'd prefer it to be forward.
  17. Cripps is better at streaming through the contest at the moment, but Olivers, vision has cripps pegged. I would like to see him get on the end of a few more and look to kick it, I think it has a bit to do with his tank at the moment though.
  18. Olivers hands are amazing, rarely fumbles picking it up and hits his targets by hands, but the most impressive thing about him is the vision he has and the way he constantly finds the right option and attacking option. This area of his game is already elite. The style of game he has, he'll be hard to tag out of the match as well.
  19. Gawn and Pederson caught in a change over then currie snuck forward GC 57 MEL 86
  20. Its funny, that type of play I just expect him to win that contest this year and his delivery has always been good. He has had a great game tonight, as i said earlier, I believe this is just his base now. Important player in the team.
  21. there's vince's one clanger in defense. as is tradition. at least it didnt cost us a goal. Viney making AdamFarr eat his hat. 10.7 67
  22. on que viney great finish for goal. GC 8.2 50 Mel 9.7 61
  23. I noticed Pedersons forward pressure went down towards the end of that quarter, just after he had a run in the ruck, probably a bit tired. I don't think we're missing frost, but he does sometimes get on his bike and present on the wing a bit more then what Pederson is tonight. Watts has been solid but not great. Just there and I think this is Watt's base now which is great compared to previous years bases. Its hard to tell on the tele but it seems we are setting up slightly different when the ball is in dispute in a contest, we have one player a bit further out for the long handpass out to shut it down. hasn't worked every time but has slowed them down.
