  1. They won't kick us out rpfc But if they were to successfully sanction us in a serious manner Then it could mortally wound us. We would probably struggle on past 2015. But I don't think that will happen ( seriously sanction us) as we will go to court My comment was initially based around the fact that I think the AFL sees us as expendable in the medium term. I know you will not agree but I still believe it.
  2. Yes Vagg spot on Lets hope he can grip the ball as well as they grip trees
  3. BH can you please give me a couple of punctuation marks it takes me ten minutes to read your comments.
  4. Is he actually going to play much this year? Did he not have a knee reco late in the 2012 season. I would think he would be out for the first half of 2013 and being a rookie he has to wait for a spot in the seniors
  5. No it is not just you. If this is photo is accurate his hands are the biggest part of him
  6. Deeko you are correct that this is the first year Tappscot has had a pre season. So lets hope he is much better in 2013. We need more than a couple of good recruits recruit from the Bailey period. I hope Tappscot can be a good player for the next ten years
  7. Yes you are right dc most of us knew after 2 So I guess we can afford to give Barry two at least.
  8. So far he has played 29 games for 4 goals Not exactly a ringing endorsement for a goal kicker so far
  9. The kid is a skinny junior who has just joined the club. Lets give him a couple of years to show his worth. I hope he is good enough to play a few in 2013 but 2014 might be more likely. If we could afford Bennel 4 years we can give this kid a few
  10. I actually think dc that they got taken by surprise on the night. Then when the full impact started to unfold the only way out was silence. Well the way they took perhaps. Media commentators IMO operate on if we shut up now our part will get lost in the overall story. only MFC people will remember our part and they are less than 1/20 of the general public.
  11. Either I have said it poorly or you are not reading it properly billy. If North had gone to the GC there would have remained 16 teams in the competition. When they rejected the offer the AFL created GCS thus 17 teams. They then added GWS to make 18 If North had gone to the GC we would now have 17 teams. Oh god not sure why I am continuing with this!
  12. Only if in the medium term someone watches the games. How many watched the Dees vs GWS last year on foxtel? based on the attendance at the ground I would think about 20 000. Do you think Collingwood or Carlton supporters spend their time watching 2nd last play 3rd last on a sunday afternoon. Not much value to an advertiser.
  13. We are not going to agree on this one rpfc. They could not give two hoots about the survival of the MFC, North or the Bulldogs in the medium term. They will not force the issue but they would love one of the above teams in Tassie around the end of this decade. North must be the most likely but if the MFC went out backwards they would give one blink before moving on. The rest in window dressing
  14. If North had gone to the GC it would have remained a 16 competition. By not going it became 17 teams when the GCS were created. Add GWS and we now have 18 teams. Too many in my view but I seem to belong to a small group on this subject.
  15. It may seem strange but I realised that was your opinion a ways back rpfc Yes I do feel better that someone at least acknowledes the possibility.
  16. bb you are concentrating on the personalities and not the process. The AFL know the MFC will go to court, we have to as our very existance is at stake. They therefore have to make sure this in run properly. Any attempt to use the AFL as a Kangaroo court will lead to them losing big time. They cannot go outside the laws of the land here. It will IMO not be a AD led get rid of this problem . There is IMO a long way to go before this resolved.
  17. rpfc I have a different view on this I think that as soon as the AFL was forced to hold an inquiry their attitude changed. From "Clubs don't tank"to We will root out tankers and punish them. IMO they don't give too hoots about the MFC, they would probably be happy to have one less Melbourne based club. The MFC has made itself an irrelevance over the last decade and what would the competition lose if there was no MFC? A small amount of the viewing audience, a small amount of lost merchandise sales. Whatever talent the MFC has and the money they give us could be diverted to GCS and GWS . The MFC needs the AFL way more than the reverse IMO they have the MFC in the gun and are doing their best to penalise us. We are in a fight for our existance make no mistake
  18. Yep me But every time I raise it I get criticized for being alarmist or pessimistic. The guy has had two knee recos and now a long term Hamstring in 3 years. Has not played for 18 months. I have serious doubts his legs are up to the rigours of AFL. But hell he is fine!
  19. This could make a great "Caption Quiz"
  20. It looks poor but surely they are not that stupid. What if there was a very late change of response?
  21. Just heard on the Radio the AFL has acknowledged the MFC delivered their response at 7. PM last night. I wonder why at 7, they have had weeks. Tactic perhaps?
  22. Sure looks better than the last 5 years efforts Hard to be worse than Pink and Maroon
  23. That is another way of looking at it. I just think we expect too much from "media People" We know the beast just use it for the value it gives.
