Well I have always stated that I want to be a one team person and I said I would wait until the end of the season to make a decision. However I would like to be part of a premiership before my days are finished. As an unrestricted free agent I would like to reserve my decision until the end of the trade period.

That about covers it Redleg. Nothing else to report.

You might have to pay the last 4 years to my widow bb! Not sure if just free bananas alone will swing it. Perhaps an addition Banana sundae after each game and a banana daiquiri on Friday nights. Over to you PS it has taken me 35 minutes to make this post. Demonland is now officially worse than out team

Tigers North and Hawks are awaiting my final offer TBF. The Roos are not demanding as high a dowry as they other two. Might just mean they are desperate. I might just hold out for a while I am confident it will cost me less closer to the trade window closing

Yes TBF I am going to offer myself up for a trade, To the recipitant club I will offer a significant dowry .

Not sure we want to burden Centre Link that much TBF

That is true bb, IMO the system is crazy why do the Dees have to pay the same total amount of money as the top few sides. Clearly we have a large number of players who are below the standard of AFL. It beggars belief they have to be paid the same as the Premiers. IT is a bloody Players union rule. Crap I think.

I would love to see the player payments list at the MFC. I have spent the last few days watching successful clubs getting players or making bids for them. I look at Freo, Richmond, Sydney, GWS, North etc and wonder how much we are paying to a large number who are not AFL standard. If we are paying close to the cap then we are grossly over paying a large number.

I think there are quite a few others who have that title still firmly in their grasp dc.

No vote was held bb and I think this is another case similar to CS trying to hi jack the MFC. I vetoed the Trade. It is still a confirmed Banana thread and yourself and Redleg are still foundation members. What will TBF try next? The way he swaps Avatars I suspect he will try changing the Dees back to Fuchsias.

I did say " I know it is early days in the drafting/ trading period" Nice little single malt is improving the night.

Well after the Buddy deal and Sylvia leaving as expected I feel the MFC is sitting in a similar spot to the last seven years. A playing list that is largely not AFL standard and low prospects for the 2014 season. Now I know it is early days in the Trading / drafting season but so far not much talk and no action. I hope Roos is JC and can preform a few miracles with the current list because we are sure as hell are going to need them. However In Castlemaine on a near perfect Spring day typing, it just proves there are other things in the World that Football.

I would agree with him WJ. I feel more deflated about our chances of rising today than I have felt all year. The overwhelming feeling I have is that we and 3 or 4 clubs in Melbourne are doomed to stay in the bottom half of the ladder and die a death of a thousands cuts. The situation looks very dire to me today. My only hope is that the AFL will knock the deal on the head. Not much chance though I guess.

You are not Robinson Crusoe bb! I think we will be rewarded by being admitted to heaven. The big Pete will look at us and say thye have spent all their time on earth in Hell. Come in guys you deserve some joy

Pity Redleg is not here he would be screaming about the Botany Bay hypocrites saying we should not get a PP. Year after Year they get nearly a million extra in their salary cap. I am not a fan of GWS but how are they supposed to get better when their neighbour rapes them at every turn. The AFL is now a dog eat dog world that I find less to like with every passing week. Might retire to the AMOS and enjoy my dotage!

Not doing either TBF I have a great daughter. I cannot decry her decision years ago to follow the Bombers she has seen way more wins and a number of GF wins However I will keep my powder dry till the "Essendon Player Problem" is resolved.

Topical My daughter just emailed a EFC membership request form. With the tag "Dad sign up at least we win games most weekends!" What a Darling, Wrong team but perhaps the right sentiment!

After an enjoyable weekend following the Hawks and pretending they were my team and trying to forget I have followed the Dees for 53 years I have thought long and deep about following one side in a team sport with so little success for half a century. The joy I have seen from most other team supporters over that period looks fantastic from the outside. Unlike a lot of others I have seen two flags but to be honest I can barely remember the first and the second and last is beginning to fade. That joy I have not seen for 49 years. I have asked myself numerous times over the last two years why I go on. If I am very honest it is that while the MFC exists I cannot leave. Strange to continue to put myself though such pain with almost no chance of getting the ultimate goal in my lifetime. Late last night I ask myself ( over a single malt or two ) would The worst thing be for the MFC to disappear? The answer for me is no. The worst thing for me would be to go on producing results like the last two years. So I will go on buying memberships and going to games with a forlorn hope of improvement. However too many more like the last two and I think I am done. But can the bloody MFC improve to the point Where I can look for to winter weekends with a chance of winning games? That is all I ask, not too much is it?

Glad to see we have added to your enjoyment TBF. A joke or two is always a necessarity I hope we have a small amount of success to discuss in 2014 mate.
