I don't think seeing every glass as half full changes much. For too long too many at the MFC saw every player as half full The result was the 2012 season. Not every player makes it. It is a handy excuse to just blame ever player assessment you don't agree with as a half empty glass analogy. This year we have taken I think 12 players off our list. These were clearly half empty players In the case of Tapscott I started by simply saying I have seen little to suggest he will be more than an average player. I await the 2013 season to see if I am wrong.

The jury is well and truely still out for me. I know he has had a bad run with injuries but I just don't see anything that suggests more than Average Player. I have only ever seen a quarter here and there. Where do you suggest is his position? He will need to show a lot more in 2013 or could be following Morton and Gysberts IMO

The big problem as I see it RB is he may not want to. Players coming up for free agency IMO would be mad to renew until the end of the season. Especially players at clubs down the list. although not as old as Rivers he will be in a similar situation. If the Dees don't make big improvements in 2013 why stay. Get a good contract with a team capable of finals apearances / winning games To see out your last few years.

I agree rpfc However I don't really care what number any player wears. What i really care about is winning games. To do that we need good players what number is on their back has little apeal to me. Just win games

Under the new free agency rules I find it hard to believe that CS will be at the MFC in 2014. If he has a good year in 2013 the offers will come in from the other clubs who see they can get a good player for free. If he has his usual year under the new FD they will not want to offer a contract at the same amount as he currently gets. He will then seek another club who again can get him for nothing besides his payments. IMO the only way CS will be at the Dees in 2014 is if the team improves considerably and he wants to stay and enjoy the possibility of finals in 2014.

I am not sure how you exempt Tippett, I know his managers were probably tell him everything is ok. But at the end of the day he had to sign an agreement. Try saying to a bank after you have signed a loan agreement. "I was only 22 and did not read it properly / understand the wording" when you cannot pay.

He has never been close to winning a club best and fairest I think that says it all. I hope he has a good year in 2013 because we need him to badly.

Today's news is the best news in 2012 as far as I am concerned. Finally an MFC that stands and fights for its position. Perhaps we do have a place in the 21st Century. Thank God and pass the ammunition!

Agree with most of what you have said btdemon. IMO that will get us about eight wins and a considerable reduction in the number of 8 -10 goal losses we endured in 2012. If we finish with eight wins and a reduction in big losses it will have been a big improvment on a year were we not competitive in 90% of games.
