  1. Stringer would not kick any more than 4 on georgiou
  2. Hopefully this inspires those fringe players currently in the seniors. Perform or go back and play with this mess.
  3. This year we've seen a real consistency in the team line-up. Yeh, Roos has tried new things (Frawley forward, Howe back) but he's stuck to it. Also I don't remember seeing so many "unchanged line-ups" in one season at this club. Though I could be wrong... Maybe it just feels like a lot... Anyway, I'd be happy to see them throw up a couple more surprises and experiment a little a bit. NOT Paul Johnson at full back experiment, but a few things we haven't really seen this year or at all. I mean we ain't playing finals so now's the time to start looking for things that can be taken into next year. I like the idea of Dom Barry coming in to play a 'run with' role, but that kinda goes against the whole 'banging down the door' mantra we've got going. But then again, who is banging down the door at Casey? Yep I've now changed my mind mid post. I'm with Jaded - like for like.
  4. I think playing Frawley up forward has lowered his value in the eyes of Melbourne supporters and increased in those of the opposition. We now know that we can get the job done without him down back, and he just ain't that good a forward. For me personally, I just don't feel like his place in the team is as relevant this season in comparison to previous years. Other teams though, will seriously take note of the fact that he can go forward if needed. But stay or go, I really don't care, I just want this to be settled sooner rather than later. The speculation of a players future carrying on throughout the season gets a bit tiresome to hear about.
  5. I'm pretty sure that's what they do in the NRL and I always thought it was bizarre. A player committing to another team but still playing with his current one. After the introduction of free agency though, that arrangement all makes perfect sense.
  6. I've always loved the way his gone about it. Characters like Brown are a dying breed in our game.
  7. How sensitive do you think AFL players are? And just an assumption, but I'm sure Jimmy Toumpas was well aware of sites like 'Demonland' and 'Big Footy' well before Saty mentioned it to him.
  8. From the team that played on the weekend? Riley. Trengove has already proven to have the ability. Just has to get his body right.
  9. Yep game isn't over, but that margin is awfully flattering
  10. I'm all for the Roos brand of footy, but that was pathetic. The players don't seem to have any intent to take the game on
  11. Should we thank Leppa? Uhh no. Rockliff is a gun. Tyson looks like he is going to be a gun. Salem looks very, VERY promising. Josh Kelly also looks like he'll be a hell of a player. I think all three clubs are very happy.
  12. I'm just really looking forward to hearing from him
  13. Grimes has been consistently putrid
  14. I think it's more about the precedent that this decision has set.
  15. If Viney didn't brace himself for the contact the way he did, he would've left the field on a stretcher. Showing a 'duty of care' works both ways and when you've got over 90 kegs of muscle coming your way at full speed, surely you should be entitled to protect yourself.
  16. I must admit, I definitely reassessed my expectations after the first round or two. Fair to say we've had some pretty awful moments this year, (injuries, west coast game). But now that I have a more realistic understanding of where the team is at, I'm pleased with the improvements we're seeing. Stats are clearly showing us to be a harder team to score against. It might be ugly to watch at times, but nowhere near as ugly as watching the opposition kick 20-25 goals each game. Without looking at any statistics it's fair to say our disposal count would be waaaay higher than last year. We're seeing the side try and control possession of the footy and tempo of the game. 'Try' being the operative word... Overall I'm quite pleased with the effect Paul Roos has had on the team. There is a long way to go just yet, but after 5 rounds I'm pretty confident in saying he is no doubt, the right man for the job. Despite being an understatement, It's been almost a decade since I've said that with such confidence.
  17. What I loved about Giorgiou, is when he floored buddy he stood his ground. Even when franklin got up to remonstrate he stood his ground. Sure, that's kind of a non-negotiable, but I was impressed.
  18. Because every now and again he does something that sparks a little bit of hope that he might just be that elite player we've all hoped he'll become. But I am well and truly done with defending Watts. Young players make mistakes, that's expected. But there is no excuse for his lack of effort and weak as F intensity at the contest.
  19. Don't like seeing Howe down back. He's such a dangerous player in the forward half of the ground and it's also really exposed the fact he needs to add a few strings to his bow.
  20. Some things are bigger and more important than footy. Like, for example, your mental well being.
  21. In the same article Mahoney said Dawes was a week to two weeks away. He is nowhere near as far off as Clark is.
  22. Our injury list looks a lot better than a lot of other clubs. http://www.afl.com.au/news/injury-list Geelong in particular is having a horror run. Christensen and Motlop are both very, VERY, good players and at the very least are another 2 months away. Now Vardy goes down with an ACL.
  23. Yeh I couldn't agree more. Macrae looks to have had a really good pre season. Has filled out nicely and there's quite a bit of Pendlebury about him. Would choose him over Wines any day.
  24. How long is it supposed to take to arrive in the mail? Signed up a little over 2 weeks ago...
