  1. Bile is an acceptable passion. Check your dictionary. Moderators please act if not. And so is hubris which you don't mind dishing out.
  2. In reply to Daisycutter. Well if it wasn't for passionate fans who pay and still follow for the glory and love of the club there will be no professional footballers. Fortunately we are not as mercenary, dry or matter of fact as the business end of the game has become. We have a right to express our passions as we wish.
  3. The final chapter will be who picks him and what sort of package he will be on. Just dying to find out what he gave us up for.
  4. Certainly no premiership medal for him in there.
  5. A lot of this Bruce apologist stuff is so anal retentive. He had a reasonable offer. He refused it at the last minute thus giving the club the most hurt he could. He had a great personal career and took a lot of money from an impoverished club. But he played strictly B grade football. I can't imagine many genuine wanna be premiers keeping a player like him on their books for all these years. He was shown a lot of generosity. The episode of the last few years just reinforces the pathetic culture we have been subjected too. Players backed by their supporters who have performed well past their use by date kicking and screaming when they have to make way for new blood makes me sick.
  6. Reading some of his past stuff certainly shows that he was a mischief maker. There is a lot of garbage there but also a hint of prophecy and foresight and a willingness to tackle sensitive topics and sacred cows no one else would dare too. I don't think he would have the posting self discipline to get away with a fictitious persona for too long if he is still around. Shame he didn't dedicate himself to the forces of decency instead of evil.
  7. Whatever he may be he seems to have an impact. Though I don't post there I have read about him on Big Footy in reference on a post about Demonland.
  8. Is there any chance that he could be rehabilitated?
  9. It is pure co-incidence the day I joined is the same day he disappeared. I have read he may be E25.
  10. I notice many posters constantly refer to Yze_Magic. Is he a legend or an ogre? Kind of disappeared around the time I joined. Notice he stopped posting suddenly on April 3, 2010. Is he still around under another name or worse?
  11. Some people must think we play in something like a bush league where good clubmen can play for as long as they like.
  12. I don't know the character of players to suggest who might be a good leader.I can only judge by how the perform in the position. But it has happened throughout history in all endeavours that many of the best leaders are thrust into leadership from the position of obscurity.
  13. And it's about time. Good to see some ruthlessness with dead wood. It must be remembered many of the clean out players had very long standing careers in a average to mediocre team for most of their time. Their "experience" will no longer infect the club.
  14. As our highest payed player for years he did not give good value for money. The clean out is complete now. Many of the long standing players that have recently departed alI too often left an unsatisfying feeling. They bring you up in ordinary games and drop you down when the crunch came. Only McDonald, Wheatley and Whelen I felt some sadness for. The last two hampered by too many injuries. But they all got 10 years plus here and their time was up. It is telling Brad still remains. For many years he was wasted plugging midfield and defensive holes because some of his peers were not up to it. Now is is playing where he should have all his career. And I agree it was bad form by him to leave his decision for the last minute. To me it was likely he had a deal stitched up elsewhere far earlier. He left with an up yours attitude.
  15. I don't we are missing much now that Cam's gone.
  16. An old Chinese proverb that fits. "If the old won't go away then the new won't come".
  17. Thanks. A fitting Swan Song for the way he departed.
  18. Missed that game, was overseas. What happened?
  19. Not surprised frankly. This smelt like festering maggot cheese for a while. Perhaps we should look to this as a milestone for the club and a sign of a bright new future.
  20. Pointless exercise. We are the greatest.
  21. I'd be interested to know the facts of his fall from grace at Collingwood before I make a firm opinion on him. But I do notice his defensive work rate and skills are lacking something. Forwards who don't have these skills are out of fashion at the moment and are a liability the way the game is played these days.
  22. I think most of the criticism is a reaction to his stonewalling. As our most senior player he is not going to perform as at his peak but still be of value. No one is denying him an extra season. But ours is a young club short of experienced leaders. The best contribution our most senior player can offer is leadership and guidance for the group. I think many posters recognise this is lacking in Bruce and are frustrated by this messy post season episode.
