For some reason, the AFL is exempted from Workcover obligations as pertains to footballers. So that’s not gonna help.

And every other day, except most of us men are just too selfish and stupid to admit it.

It’s always interesting to read dissatisfaction with our attacking game when we score 16 goals (or > 100 points). With our defensive qualities, that will win us every game, barring defensive aberrations, regardless of ‘system’. Likewise the entrenched belief that Max will be a guaranteed failure up forward. If he kicks straighter, he’s going to be an almighty headache for every other team. Simple.

Heal well A, and I’m sure you’ll forever remember … platform sandals and alcohol, not such good friends. (Yeah yeah I know, ‘thanks, Dad!” 😉).

Re Fritta (if the foot trampling rumour is true), there’s an abundance of caution taken with feet these days. Bruised (trampled) feet that are too early loaded turn into bone stress points, then fractures. Worth remembering that the feet are relatively small structures having to bear enormous loads, multiples of our entire body weight during jumping, landing and sprinting. For some of us, that’s getting up to a quarter or third of a ton! Care is best, particularly pre-season. Otherwise his training exercises as described are very core-glute stability like. Go Fritta.

Spot on @Demonstone. There’s ample proof around the world that where de-criminalisation has been trialed, hospitalisations drop, crime drops, and overdose deaths drop. It’s the logical, proven step, and nobody in their sane mind could argue otherwise. As with many things however, we are lead by the US, who have constructed industries around meaningless crime and punishment - most obviously their prison-industrial system. Our leaders don’t currently have the courage or foresight for decriminalisation. Ironically, we’ve just seen a spark of hope, with the approval of psilocybin and MDMA for treatment resistant depression and PTSD, one of only a handful of countries to have done this to now. Motivated no doubt by the potential (and it’s huge) reduction in state mental healthcare costs. It will revolutionise mental health treatment, and gradually be extended for further application. There’s no doubt wholesale decriminalisation is inevitable, it’s just the pointless waiting that baffles.

Somebody had to say it I guess. Whenever inclined to self-pity as a Dees supporter (pre-2021 of course), only had to think of the Saints. I do feel for them.

A game-changing pioneer in the history of our sport. And one thing’s for sure I’d say….“She’ll be back”.

Bit of an aside….saw such a Ute this week, with 2 bumper stickers. One side of the bumper had “[censored] VEGANS”, the other “[censored] CYCLISTS”. Sent me into hysterics, as I am both. 😂 Agree about the seeming dominance of Dees stickers, although it always makes me wonder if we’re just attuned to see them.

Hey A, that’s outstanding, and wall glitches notwithstanding, I reckon they look very well hung! Quietly confident there’ll be cause for more painting/s aroundabout this September. ps….perhaps a little filler in that cornicing above Max n Jack wouldn’t go astray. 😎

That’s actually a huge drop in the ACL rupture rate. We can only hope it’s not a ‘one swallow doesn’t make a summer’ situation. If the downward trend continues, it suggests that girls who grow up with the game are both more physically attuned to the rotational-pivoting demands, and that specific conditioning programmes are working. It might also suggest the ‘ACL vulnerable’ girls are being weeded out before reaching senior footy. Whichever way, fingers crossed it continues.

Was a great surprise, and when Billy announced him, I tried on my best ‘Go Dees!’. Got a few laughs only…..not enough Dees supporters there. Brillant gig though…..what a playlist!!!
-
A great year guys, best in my time I reckon, no less than for how you’ve somehow fashioned Demonland to be a haven of passionate sense, well considered analysis and respectful community……..no mean feat in these times of idiotic, salacious, pointless commentary.
-
Alright, I’ve seen enough, and am gonna put it out there. Kyah Farris-White is going to be a star for the Dees! He will be the random gun recruit of his generation.

I reckon it’s because this team is easy to invest in. They are so openly engaged with playing solely for the joy of the game and each other that it’s impossible not to find it meaningful. Add to that how meaningful is the rise of the women’s game in the past 7 years after 157 years of being unwanted at the highest level, and now a premiership for the ORIGINAL club - of both the men’s and women’s game, and there it is. Just great stuff!

Daisy speaks…………and once more she shows how it’s done. Selfless, respectful, just all class. The media can try ignoring her MFC association all they like, but she’s no less a Demon legend than any of our one-club Premiership skippers. And obviously she’s poisoned Mick Stinear with that same class.

Brilliant effort! This team is the personification of an integrated unit. So clearly giving everything for each other it can’t help but bring tears. Effing sensational to see their joy, and once again, I love ‘em all. BOG though has to be Tyla Hanks for me. I watched her in her first season and was sure she’d be an elite midfielder. Doesn’t have the athleticism of some, or the brutality of Eliza West (made me laugh that the umpire pinged her for being tackled with no prior opportunity, but because she dragged the tacklers about 20 metres downfield, somehow she deserved to be penalised), but she’s a star! Just saw Shannon Campbell get the medal. No disrespect Shannon, but that’s just not right.

Bad umpiring kills games. That was disgraceful umpiring.
-
All class that quarter, brilliantly deserved. Kate Hore protecting the drop for her mark, then straight kick in the wind, Daisy sensing the moment and delivering perfectly. Just love Tyla Hanks instinct for best option disposal and opening up the game. Defence great as always. Too many contributors to single out really….love ‘em all!!!!

Can’t get flogged in the last quarter like we did that one, can we?
-
Which is who he’s reminded me of since he swung forward in 2019. It’s a no-brainer, particularly as key forwards are harder to secure, groom, sustain than key backs. Might have to eat my words of course, but there’s no doubt to me that Petty’s our next gun forward.

In that case I’ve got one from Oxfart.
