Brad Green?

3 votes for Scully come brownlow night.
Knowing the umpires, that won't happen
-
Lock in Goal of the year for Bennell!
Just wait for Jurrah to come back and take Mark of the year!
Yes please
-
I think we should rally up every Melbourne supporter on this website and spam their emails with stuff about the umpires.
This [censored] can't keep happening
-
Perhaps, but I have simply stated the truth. His turnovers, particularly when he was running under no pressure, were very poor and cost us.
I will add that he also kicked a pinpoint pass into the 50 for a mark and goal that took my breath away. The kid is amazing, but I stand by my call. He needs to improve his consistency by foot to compliment his other abilities and then he will be a multiple brownlow winner.
Read what you quoted.

That's the first situation where I've seen a player get twice as many disposals than his age
-
Of course. We have a fair contender tonight in Bennell, and no doubt we'll see plenty more during the season. I'll back us to take it out.
Oh yeah, forgot about that one, it was a great mark but somebody will probably take a better one.
-
I agree it was a great game, but his shocking turnovers by foot really hurt at times. He really needs to work on that. Fortunately, he seems to be the type who puts a lot of work into his game, so we can hope that he will get better.
Everybody had a stupid turnover tonight. It was the fact that Sculls got it 39 times that made him have more than the rest.

Hit the nail on the head brett. Both times the goal umpire was going to signal a goal. NO BALLS!!!!
I think whoever overruled them has less brain cells than the goals that were overruled.
-
Don't forget mark of the year.
Are you talking about this year?
-
6 - Scully
5 - Trengove
4 - Grimes
3 - Bate
2 - Bruce
1 - Bennell
I like the look of the top two.
-
I think we can almost award these now.
Goal of the year: Jamie Bennell
Non-goal of the year: Brad Green (it was a goal, replays proved it)
Goal assist of the year: Ricky Petterd
We're good at this.
-
Agree. Those pink umpires cost us at least two goals in the last. Someone should be shot.
+1.
It was Bartram who handballed it to the ump. And Brad Green has now kicked the non-goal of the year.
-
Gary Rohan's gonna have to get 50 possessions and kick 5 goals.
Screw Nic Nat, this is between the Scullgove twins.
-
Words fail me...
My head's sore now.
The umpire who overruled the first one should be sacked. I was at that end, and clearly hear the smack of leather on leather, even from Level 4. The replays showed it wasn't touched as well.
And also, a paragraph from AFL.com's article on the game:
The match is likely to be remembered as much for its close finish as for a number of contentious decisions that went the Bulldogs' way, especially in the last quarter.

I was thinking Hawkins, since he's stinking the place up at the cattery. But he's not much better than Anthony.
God no, not Hawkins. He's a dud.
Anthony's a FF who can at least take some strong marks and kicks dead straight, unlike some people...COUGH MILLER NEWTON COUGH
-
Haven't done that yet...thought i would do the right thing!!!
It'll save you $40...
-
THAT'S MORE LIKE IT.
-
I doubt the AFL's gonna do anything.
But I'd like the 2000 flag, I can say I've been to a Grand Final where we lost and won.

As has been suggested on here by several scribes, is Rivers being played now to make him a more valuable trade next season given that is the only way to enhance your list for the next two years.
It is an interesting question. If we were to trade, given our accumulation of first round draft picks, what sort of players do we want. Once we have everyone up and running, where are our glaring weaknesses?
Perhaps I could start with where we are strong: backs tall and medium; on ballers great once the young develop; forwards terrific potentially once we get them all back and JW matures.
So what do we need? I still believe we badly need a David Neitz type of player ie large body, very strong, quick lead, strong mark, long accurate kick. There Is no-one on our list that's near that except maybe Fitzpatrick when he matures. Secondly, a second ruck. I don't believe either meesen or Spencer cut the mustard here. PJ potentiaaly might - it will be intersting to see how he performs at the weekend. Gawn is a long term (ie 3-5 years IMO) but extremely promising prospect but we need someone in the next 2-3 years capable of dominating finals football ie a Jolly type. I don't believe we have one on our list at the moment.
What do others think? Any other gaps? Any players in particular we should target?
John Anthony's out of favour at Collingwood, maybe he's worth looking into. And I also think Jamar's perfectly capable of dominating the ruck, but players like Johnson, Frawley, Dunn and some of the younger players (Gawn, Fitzy) are perfectly capable of playing ruck when required, although the last two will probably take a while.
But I'd really like John Anthony in red and blue if Malthouse doesn't want him.

Not sure about any other changes
Just go ahead and predict 'em, I wanna see if you get them right
-
Hey demons007, will there be any other changes? Seeing as you're so good at this...(PLEASE MARTIN FOR MCKENZIE)
-
According to one of the articles they did last year, offering a long contract with lots of money; Jamar chose a 1 year deal with MFC.
Yeah, just read about that
-
Uhh, why do we want them? I think our team's pretty good as it is.
When do we rest the Scullgove twins
