  1. Petterd is OK. He hyperextended his shoulder in the second quarter (I think it was the second quarter) and copped a corky in his butt and an ankle injury also, but he played out the game. If there is to be one inclusion, Bail in.

  2. If Russian can keep himself in the contest in the ruck (which I believe he can, considering his recent form) and if we can handball as swiftly as we did against Brisbane (which suits Etihad, it's a fast ground) we're in with a good chance. Especially considering our recent troubles against North were mainly to do with tall players, but now we have Frawley and Warnock to hold up Hale and Goldstein and Jamar can easily take MacIntosh IMO. But our ground work with the ball is now one of the best parts of our game and better than North's.

  3. Only one thing has changed.

    Our level of belief.

    Can't disagree.

    It's amazing comparing our efficiency with our handball compared to last year - we were handballing to stationary players, putting ourselves under pressure etc., but now we move it so swiftly through our defence/midfield ready for a penetrating kick to a forward - I remember counting about 10-15 handballs in one short passage of play where no handball went to a stationary player and we worked our way right around those Brisbane players until a kick was made into the forward line. It was amazing to watch.

  4. Well, Scully performed better in a winning team and has had good results for the past three matches also. The only issue for him could be the public profile if NicNat.

    NicNat will get it because there's so much hype about it. But Scully, Trengove and McKenzie have been in the running every week, where as NicNat has been inconsistent, so from that point of view NicNat shouldn't get it.

  5. ok they have two good young players, oh that will keep them up in the 8

    Oh no it won't. The only good young Crows are Dangerfield, Vince, Rutten, Tippett and Porplyzia. And Thompson's getting on a bit I think. I rate them about the same as the Sydney of last year - great experience, but no youth.

  6. I honestly believe it's because of idiots who ring up and complain about the "health hazards" of really loud speakers. I agree that there can be a level of sound that's simply too loud (to the point that it hurts), but we need to find a middle level, where everyone's satisfied.

    There can't possibly be a noise limit. Think of how noisy some blockbuster games are (especially when the game is close), such as Melbourne vs the Filth, Melbourne vs Carlton, Melbourne vs Essendon...

  7. Trengove is going to be a superstar. XD

    Followed by Grimes who will be the captain. :)

    Grimes the captain, Trengove the superstar. Featuring Watts, Jurrah, Scully, Morton, Frawley, Gysberts, Wonaeamirri, Petterd, Sylvia and co...

    Sounds effing awesome.

    I want an 'all of the above and MORE' option.

  8. Geelong - Ablett/Chapman/Bartel/Selwood/Johnson/Scarlett (Corey/Ottens/Ling)

    St. Kilda - Riewoldt/Hayes/Goddard/Dal Santo/Montagna/Koschitzke (Ball/Gilbert)

    Thing about these two teams is that their second best 6 is still a really great bunch, as they'd read:

    Geelong - Corey/Ottens/Ling/Enright/Mooney/Rooke

    St. Kilda - Gilbert/Jones/Dawson/Ray/Milne/Gardiner or King

    They'd be better than Richmond's best 6. Wait, their bottom 6 is better than Richmond's best 6. :D

    Thanks Hannabal for this great post by the way

  9. You have to remember that Richmond probably regard us as one of the few beatable teams they will face. They are going to throw everything at us to get themselves up off the bottom of the ladder for a while. I expect them to hit us hard early on and put a lot of man-on-man pressure on the team. It will be very much like what we did to Collingwood.

    That's true. But the fact remains: we're playing Richmond. PERCENTAGE HERE WE COME

  10. Not at all!! tHE WORST THING WE CAN DO IS GO INTO THIS GAME THINKING IT IS JUST GOING TO HAPPEN. You cannot take any side lightly. Get ahead of yourself or begin to believe you are better than what you are and you can be beaten by any side. Don't get carried away.

    Yeah, but we're playing Richmond.

  11. exactly. every error he makes people on this site scrutinize. also i think his directing of traffic goes unoticed. dont get me wrong he makes errors, sometimes due to lack of confidence/judgement/skill

    all is well to voice your opinion, but i think this needless bruce/bate bashing is uncalled for & ignorant. wake up.

    I'm wide awake buddy. And I am voicing my opinion, my opinion is that for such an experienced player, Bruce shouldn't have made so many mistakes as he did in the first half. I'll admit his second was much better though.

    And I'm not a Bate basher, I really like the guy :D

  12. Also has a penetrating kick, as shown by that out on the full beside the behind post. Against the wind and about 55m. Did anyone see if Newton actually got a hand on it as he claimed?

    He definitely did. I reckon if Jamar hasn't fought that contest Newton would've scored something because he bumped Newton going for the ball. I was just undercover directly behind where it happened an I was like 'hang on, why isn't the ball being thrown in?'

    I actually counted ten whole free kicks Melbourne should/could have been paid. None in the second half of the third quarter or the last funnily enough.

  13. I'll just delete that post so I don't look like a complete retard. *deletes post*

    And my opinion about the banner:

    Davey = Yes

    Bruce = Maybe

    Moloney = Maybe

    Morton = No

    Jones = Maybe

    Watts = Yes

    Jurrah = Yes

    Candidates - Green (for Morton), Grimes, Petterd, Bennell, Sylvia

  14. Yep the hands were resting on his back (basically Garland using them for touch on Burton) but definitely did not extend his arms & Burton made the most of it. Frawley should get the most dangerous forward every time because he has all the tools to shut them down... Burton could have iced kicked uus out of the contest before half time if he had kicked straight.

    Thankfully Tippett was close to worst on ground so didn't need to shut both of them down.

    Saw it clearly on the replay. Garland did have his hands on his back, but Burton dived forward as Garland stretched is arms out to take the mark. That was what indicated the push - it sort of looked like he pushed Burton and went for the mark in the one motion. But replays indicated his arms were bent and practically unmoving when Burton dived.

    Also, Tippett WAS worst on ground. Five disposals, three marks, one out on the full to three quarter time and he came off injured sometime in the last quarter.
