  1. I was JUST thinking that. The margin got cut back to 33 earlier. I may not have Foxtel, but I could tell Adelaide were slowing. Three goals from that and it's 15 points, which isn't much of a lead in today's game.

Now it's 25 points. If the Dees come out and nail the first two, it's gonna get good.

  2. I have been visiting the demonology site for a fair while and only occassionally visited demonland, one of the reasons I have become a demonland member is because of the petty happenings on demonology and the spiteful comments made to other members, and after signing in tonight and viewing the Ricky Petterd signing on topic I see that some demonland members are getting into other members because of either a spelling mistake or a typing error, let's keep the site more friendly - I presume we are here for one common purpose - supporting the might red and blue and hoping for that elusive premiership

I think as Melbourne supporters we should all know how to spell Petterd.

    Or Wonaeamirri

  3. A matured Watts and Jurrah?

A fit Bate or Sylvia(didn't play in round 2)?

    A Tapscott or a Trengove? A Morton?

Petterd was fantastic in that one game against the pies and good in a few others.

To say no other players can take a mark inside 50 is wrong.

We were missing, for one reason or another, nearly every alternative in that particular game.

I agree he did straighten us up greatly and looked a class above, but we're yet to

    see that consistently.

    (Green is 29).

Remember Petterd has had a few injuries. We haven't seen it consistently because he hasn't been fully fit.

And who can mark inside 50? Petterd and Green can. Jamar can when he pushes forward. Dunn when he's lucky to get a game. Sylvia and Jurrah can mark. Am I missing anyone?

  4. Not sure if anyone heard on AFL Teams tonight but Tony Shaw made the comment that Melbourne 'will', not might but 'will' win a flag in the next 5 years. Made the comment that we have a lot of good players playing VFL who can't get a game.

Also on the show everyone agreed that Jamar would be in the All Australian Team to this point of the year and Pickering was pushing hard for Frawley to be in the All Australian Team also.

No major news really, but it is nice to see that some people are starting to take notice.

    +1.

    Wait, no.

    +1 quintillion

  5. I think Bate is much better than Petterd at this stage.

Ricky is more than just slightly smaller.

Bate is a freight train and he runs and runs and runs.

He also kicks long goals from outside 50. He can busts packs.

He has done this for years; Ricky had a few good games at the start of this season.

Petterd and Green are the only two players who can take a park inside 50. Green's 30 (?), he won't be there for that much longer. I agree with what you said about Bate but the loss of Petterd hurts our forward line more than you think. We wouldn't have got close against Collingwood in Round 2 without him.

  6. Why do you rate Bate ahead of Petterd? IMO Petterd is much more valuable, although he is slightly smaller he plays above his size.

Petterd is currently more valuable than Bate as he creates space and he's the best contested mark for a forward - Jamar's a ruckman. Bate is a half-forward who doesn't seem to use his height. It's almost as if Petterd plays like a player Bate's height and vice versa.

  7. Fair enough

I would have him in the team before:

Bartram, Bruce, Garland, Watts, Rivers, Gysberts, Dunn, Jetta, Miller.

Which is not to say I advocate dropping these players I would just have Jordie ahead of them. Such is my opinion of him.

Minus Garland, and that's spot on. McKenzie's easily doing more than anyone on the list.

  8. Yeah, I know. But your a bit late with those Sth Aus rumours, they were goin' around last year.

Mind you, we still have to sign him too, or announce it.

I know all about the rumours of last year, but I wasn't on Demonland then :)

Jamar was just an example - another player not playing in his home state with his contract expiring at the end of the year. Both have rumoured to be re-signed by Melbourne. So aren't they in the same boat?

  9. IN: Sylvia

    OUT: Miller

Miller is a Casey key forward.

    McDonald is 50/50.

So Gysberts had one not-so-good game. He had two rippers before that.

Watts needs the AFL experience, and...tell me three names in Adelaide's defense that are half-decent.

  10. There was talk going around at the Players Ball that Jamar has re-signed. If true, the club might be waiting on that being finalised or maybe even a couple more signings to announce them as a group.

So there's been unconfirmed reports that both Petterd and Jamar have signed contract extensions with Melbourne. So why don't we start a thread about Jamar possibly leaving?
