  1. In the 6 or 7 weeks left this year, Tapscott will do well to be competitive for 4 quarters at VFL level.

A possibility for 2011 debut for MFC.

Chuck him and Blease in for the last couple of AFL games, look what it did with Grimes

  2. Just something I wrote on Melbourne ruckmen Mark Jamar. Very much improved and a key in Melbourne's future. His tapwork with Beamer Moloney has been exquisite. Thoughts on the article and Jamar's season so far? Haven't been on the site for a while but the revamp and banner looks sensational. I am not a dees man but they are my second team and I try and go to as many Melbourne matches as I can when my team North Melbourne is not playing. Good luck for the rest of the season and hopefully Jurrah comes back and Melbourne and North are fighting for top spots in the years to come. Cheers.

    JOOOOEEEEEE, YOU STAR

  3. IN: Sylvia

    OUT: Watts

If Moloney had 10 disposals this week, would you drop him? No. Same goes with Gysberts. Two great games and then one where he had low impact (playing against his former favourite team and some idols) doesn't call for an omission.

  4. There is no way we will make the 8 this year. Next year we are a decent chance if things fall our way, but this year we are going for upper half of the bottom 8. If we manage that I'll be thrilled.

Well, we've already proven better than Port Adelaide, Brisbane, Richmond and Adelaide, so we should be right for 12th or higher

  5. Thats good you have come down from 10 more wins to 8 you are starting to see the light.

mathematically it is 7 and a half for 12 it keeps getting better.

Re-read my post. We WILL NOT win 8 more games this season.

    Here, I'll prove it:

    Round 13: ADELAIDE - WIN

Round 14: ST KILDA - LOSS

    Round 15: ESSENDON - WIN

    Round 16: FREMANTLE - LOSS

Round 17: SYDNEY SWANS - WIN

Round 18: BRISBANE LIONS - WIN

    Round 19: RICHMOND - WIN

    Round 20: HAWTHORN - LOSS

Round 21: PORT ADELAIDE - LOSS

Round 22: NORTH MELBOURNE - WIN

That's me being pretty damn optimistic. I counted six.

  6. Essendon made it with 10 last year that is only 5 and a half to go.

    Duu

Because St Kilda and Geelong had, what, 38 wins all up? That's out of 88 total wins for the season. That meant wins came by less often which means there were less to go around.

12 wins will pretty much guarantee you finals. We won't win 8 more.

  7. Players who are 50/50

    * Cheney - Interesting one as won't get a chance and altho reserves form is good he doesn't get enough possies or isn't damagin enough from half back. Unfortunate that we also drafted Macdonald who would also be ahead of him and is in the twos.....maybe time to go?

    * Maric - I'm happy to persist into a third year as first year was injury interrupted. Get the feeling he will be better in the ones where its a bit cleaner than the twos. Needs a better work ethic.....

    * Spencer - Peoples views are split here but im happy to persist into a third year. Ruckman don't peak til 25 but id be looking at Warnock or Hampson or a trade for a good ruckman

    * Hughes - I really haven't seen enough of him. Hands look ok but has been around a while, maybe one more year?

    * Miller - A bit either way, maybe we need to be ruthless and finally cut him?

    * McNamara - A depth of key backs with Frawley, Rivers, Garland and Warnock. As much as people say throw some of them forward it's obvious they all are best at the back. We should look to trade him as he has been unlucky and shown good VFL form. May get a reprieve for 2011 based on thin draft because of gold coast.......

Cheney - NO FRICKIN WAY. He's much better than Joel Mac.

Maric - Pretty good small forward. Keep him.

    Spencer - Agree

Hughes - Tough call, hasn't had much of a go

    Miller - Agree

McNamara - He's playing well at Casey. Keep

  8. Firstly, I didn't realise that Strauss, Tapscott, Blease, Fitzpatrick and Gawn were in our starting 22 atm. Gysberts isn't in our best 22 either YET (at the moment he's just being blooded). I think most people thought captain JMcdonald would be retired by 34, so reasonable prediction at the time.

Scully and Trengove are the ones who are in the 2010 best 22 which I missed, obviously impossible to predict that.

Considering the turnover of our list over those 3 years, and Mclean and Buckley playing for different AFL clubs, it wasn't a terrible effort

Gysberts is just about in our best 22 IMO.

Good job anyway on that guess, I know it's impossible to pick the draftees

  9. Still Jamar aside, Sylvinators team is not far off.

Yep, it's just missing Junior, Trengove, Scully, Gysberts, Watts, Strauss, Tapscott, Blease, Fitzpatrick, Gawn, McKenzie, Jurrah, Wonna, Bennell and Jetta.

  10. How about we keep it like it is - 22 games, except you only get to play five teams twice, preferably the bigger teams. For example, Melbourne play Collingwood, Carlton, Geelong, Hawthorn and Essendon twice. Then the top 8 play finals, which makes it a little harder to get in. Should make teams fight more for it.

  11. B Cheney Warnock Strauss

    HB Grimes Frawley Davey

    C Morton Trengove Viney

    HF Tapscott Fitzpatrick Watts

    F Jurrah Petterd Garland

    Fol Jamar Scully Gysberts

Int Sylvia Moloney McKenzie Jones Bate Blease Bail

Green won't have retired by then. He'll be in there.

Edited in Petterd + extended bench

  12. This. Possibly put a few more Jurrahs in though.

Enjoyed the new sig too, Jaded... crisp.

Shouldn't it be ball gets Jamar?

It's reverse, so really Jamared gets ball makes no sense.

I might change mine, the Soviet Russia jokes are pretty funny around my school...maybe, in Soviet Russia, pwned gets Collingwood
