Davey misses.

It's our standard opening gambit.
You bet, goal to Duffield.

One inside 50 so far to Freo's four

i'd like to see dunn run with him, although if he spends significant time in the forward 50 chip would be a good option.
They're both midfield/forward type players. Chip would be more likely
Raining at Subiaco. I am thinking this may help Melbourne...
We're a good team in the wet
-
I have a feeling that they may well be in this game up to their eyeballs.
I want to see a really competitive performance.
Two keys today are nullifying Sandilands and stopping Pav. Pav has killed us the last few times.
Will Chip take Pav? He should

I'm sick and tired of us going interstate and not putting up a whimper.
Are we any chance today or what?
Depends on what Bail and Morton can do with the extra space IMO. Considering Fremantle lost to Richmond they may either bounce back or drop off...you never know what could happen in footy.
Fremantle by 27 - let's keep it under 5 goals

Have to agree with Hannibal. Jones has the body of an inside player but is naturally outside but does not have the skills to match. A midfielder at 22 (as long as they show work ethic) should not have much to improve on development wise aside from consistency in their game. They dont suddenly wake up with better skills, athleticism and decision making. Jones fits a need at the momemnt but I expect him to get overtaken as other players develop. If does prove me wrong good luck to him.
Separate point, if you think that Ablett and Judd are outside then I dont know what game you watch.
Considering that he'll be 26 in the year I expect us to win the flag (2014) he'll be at his peak - he has plenty of time to improve. If he gets overtaken I think that will definitely say something about the quality of our midfield.
-
I don't understand why Jones is one of few touted as a player to "give way"!! He is 22 years old and imperative to our in-and-under play!!! He's a tough nut and we need those type of players at Melbourne as we only have himself and Moloney and perhaps McKenzie as those types of players!
I thought I was the only one
-
Yeah, I was about to put this up myself. I think 12 in a match may have put him a little further up the list in the AA selectors' minds.
Goals wise, LeCras over Green.
Stats wise, Green over LeCras.

B: Colin Garland, Jared Rivers, Clint Bartram
HB: Jordie McKenzie, James Frawley, Cameron Bruce
C: Jamie Bennell, Nathan Jones, Brad Green
HF: Lynden Dunn, Jack Watts, Tom Scully
F: Colin Sylvia, Matthew Bate, Liam Jurrah
FOLL: Mark Jamar, Brent Moloney, Aaron Davey
I/C: Joel Macdonald, Paul Johnson, Rohan Bail, Cale Morton
Pretty good team IMO - only Grimes, Trengove, Junior, Gysberts, Petterd missing from our best 22. I wonder how we'd fit em all in if everyone was fit?
The bold players could make way - but there's always injuries, so there's almost no such thing as a best 22 anymore. More like a 22 with five/six players that cover injuries, suspensions etc.

God knows. We seem to have a player of the month that people jump on and rag for no other reason that one poster highlighted a mistake they made. I'm assuming that he didn't follow a directive and that is why he got dropped but the boy has talent coming out of his wazoo.
He reminds me of a skinny kid the Saints drafted way back when. Could play back, forward or mid but needed a bunch of years to get the body to dominate games. That kid might be Capt of the AA team and might even get a chas this year.
Morton will be a 200+ player gun and if we win a flag I would be very surprised if he didn't get top 3 in the NS.
And they were both top five picks.
He's always reminded me of him
-
Nic Nat. Lock it in.
And I will get crushed by a washing machine chucked by a two metre tall midget with no arms who just bought fat free food from McDonald's
I'm a little bored
-
Yeah he has been a gun for the most part and the last 4-5 years especially.
He did cop flack because he was a bit, not quite soft but at least no where near hard enough at the contest. It is a massivecredit to him that he changed that, which was also given a push by him not being included in leadership groups. Maybe a bit insular as a player.
But yeah, so much credit to him cause he has a ton of talent, certainly is a gun. Captaincy would be fair reward, obvious how he can lead with his talent on the field, but some of those issues he has had, would also be a good leader off field.
When you look at those stats, you'd think he should be All Australian. Well, I do.
IMO the next seven rounds will determine whether the B&F goes to Jamar or Green.
And I think that, despite me liking the idea of him being captain, he won't be selected as he probably wouldn't perform as well. Moloney does seem like more of a leader, but who knows, Junior might continue on next year
-
yeah i think dustin martin has played some very good games and would win it if eligible.
Trengove is a very good chance, he has been very consistant and very good!
I thought Jammie Bennell deserved a nomination for his game against Port in Darwin - 3 goals etc. Fyfe got the nod taht round, but JB's stats were better. Guess that becasue he's not a high profile draft pick he doesnt get noticed ?
Yarran's nomination in round 1 was laughable....
Bennell played more than 10 games last year, he's ineligible. He got 16 touches and 4 goals in Darwin, but Fyfe got 23 touches, 7 marks and 5 tackles. It would've been 50/50 if he was eligible though

I caught the train to Etihad for the St Kilda match from Prahran station and Steven (i think) Febey was on it. He was dressed in casual attire. I am sure it was Steven and not mouse, one of them is regularly spotted crawling out of Revolver or 161 at 9am in the morning chewing face.
I sat next to Steven in 2005 (at a guess) one game

I thought they canceled the remaining rounds after the Franklin goal(s). Every commentator in the country creamed over his goal. Bit like Nik Nat having his name engraved on the Rising Star trophy before the season actually started!
Are you saying Buddy won't get Goal of the Year? Because Nic Nat isn't getting the Rising Star
-
Was honest and went:
Hannebery
Trengove
Rockliff
Sculls would be fourth, but then again, you never know what could happen
-
I wonder how long Trenners will be out? Between him being injured, Cloke getting suspended and Porplyzia getting dropped my supercoach side has taken a hit
Yeah, well I traded Trengove for Goddard last week and I'm not silly enough to have Porplyzia
The loss of Trengove hurts. In fact I don't think we'll win anymore
-
I'll start it off, Matt Little of Williamstown is a mature aged player who has been kicking bags in the VFL.
Should've picked up Sautner years before, but I guess we had Neita kicking goals...
Matt Little sounds interesting, how many has he kicked this season?
-
BWHAHAHHAHA! What are you smoking? There is no way that three players from a bottom 8 side will make All Australian.
I said squad, not team.
-
Please swap Jurrah with Watts and I will agree
Jurrah's more of a full forward than Watts
-
I reckon you're right but we do need one big forward to crash the packs and create opportunities for these mid size and smaller forwarder
Jack Fitzpatrick.
HF Sylvia Fitzpatrick Watts
FF Green Jurrah Petterd
That will be hard to match up on
-
Sharks sounds best at the moment. Dolphins is too soft, Suns is weird and Stingrays is taken.
