I feel really sorry for Rohan, every time he's starting to show what a superb player he is, he gets cut down by injury. Yes, it's good for us if he can't play next week, but I'd rather it was for something less significant.

I seriously cannot recall when I last saw a game with the atrocious skill levels on display currently in the Saints v Carlton game.
-
Have to agree it was extremely poor fixturing considering the AFL must have had a pretty strong inkling that Essendon would be going down in their trial... due to that uncertainty, Essendon should not have been considered at all when planning season 2016.

Well as someone who does make the very occasional trip to Melbourne from Sydney, I would have to disagree with you about that... particularly as someone who generally uses points to fly and accommodation is often not so readily available.
-
I had the same thought... it means that one game would have to be allocated to Friday which could be taken from either Saturday or Sunday's fixture, making them both floating fixtures until the Friday game has been settled upon. Would also make it difficult for anyone planning ahead to travel to Melbourne (or wherever) for the game.

I t6hink I tipped a 75 point winning margin to the Hawks. On track at the moment.

MFC 2016 Membership - Record Broken. Next stop: 40,000
hardtack replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think that before the season kicked off most of us would have been hoping to break the record and only just, so the fact that we are so close to the magical 40K is a bonus... but who knows, a good win in such a high profile game as Monday's coupled with the Big Freeze event, may see a sudden spike in memberships that are both performance and sentimentally based. -
Look at post #5 above and all will be revealed.

Rohan Connolly couldn't find a place for big Max in his mid-season AA team (had Goldstein as first ruck and Nic Nat second)... so it's no surprise that the media don't notice Nev.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 12
hardtack replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
The Garlett decision is obviously a tough one. Should they have risked playing him and have him misfire again, or should they send him to Casey to regain his form and confidence so that he's firing when needed next week against a much tougher opponent in the Swans? I'm happy to think the club made the right decision. -
Around the grounds, round 11.

I'm looking forward to the Freo v Bummers game... it's going to be interesting to see how Freo can lose this without being too obvious about it (if they win they will move up to 16th and lose valuable draft picks). -
Don't worry, the ground only holds a tad over 100k at full capacity.

In what way was that selfish? He had a clear path and took the kick... terrible kick, but definitely not selfish. -
Apart from the fact that Garland is out for 3 weeks with a cheek bone injury? Frost may come in?

One of these days, if we can find anyone willing to have us desecrate their venue and when we can find a convenient way of getting all seven of us down there.

My band is playing on the afternoon of the election (poster below) The bar is owned by friends of Albanese and is in his electorate of Grayndler... be nice if he popped in for a tipple - regardless of your politics, he's a nice guy.

Agree on Tree of Life... I bought that on BluRay based on the praise I had heard.... BIG mistake. However, the film I have hated more than just about any other would have to be Independence Day 4.... apart from a few decent effects, the thing was, to put it nicely, pitiful! Most films of this ilk I can appreciate on a level of "so bad it's good" and have a bit of a laugh, but for some reason ID4 couldn't even elicit that kind of a response from me... when I first saw it in the cinema, all I could feel was anger.
-
Ok, what have you done with him?
-
Wow... like the film, I'm speechless! ;-)

The Speilberg film about the truck? Are you kidding? That is one of the best suspense films I have seen...
-
In order for that to happen, you're assuming that the ball is going to get to their forward line

Unless they turn them 180 degrees and run on the tops of their feet, I doubt that should be an issue.

I've not seen a single episode.

True story, a friend of mine was curator for aboriginal art at the National Gallery in Canberra and he told me that when the gallery was getting ready to open in the early 80's they had mock-ups created of all of the major works so they could hang them first to get the groupings on the walls looking right. After they were done with, they decided to hang the mock-up of Blue Poles in the staff room. Before the official opening the then Minister for the Arts was taken on a tour to familiarize himself and when they stopped in the staff area he commented on how lucky the staff were to have Blue Poles hanging in their room and how fresh it still looked (the paint was yet to completely dry).

Saty would be the best person to answer this I suspect.
