  1. This thread is a hoot. After all that abuse I copped from Robbie for calling Abbott what he is and foretelling what was to come, the moment he hits his back pocket, he turns on him. Forget all the raping of the poor, unemployed, elderly, youth, families, disabled, scientific community, public service, environment.....Robbie has to pay extra tax, therefore Hockey and Abbott are no good. Never change Rob. Never ever.
  2. It helps when the Speaker is your puppet. Literally (keep your eye on Pyne on the right)
  3. Mark Jamar - Russian Col Garland - Judy Michael Evans - Pickles Jay Kennedy Harris - JKH (or JK) Jake Spencer - Spencil Tom McDonald - T Mac Dean Terlich - Terls When in doubt, add a y: Bleasy, Grimesy, Wattsy...it's the Roosy way.
  4. Tiges just looked to be regaining some confidence and form in the match against Geelong. Plus they'll be going flat out for this one for obvious reasons. It suddenly looks pretty close on paper, which you couldn't say this time last year. I badly want to win it, if only to hear all those microwaves firing up..
  5. Apparently his lip towards Murphy on the weekend was along the lines of him being too old and past it. What a little champ.
  6. It has developed far beyond what it should have. I was merely pointing out that grand statements should be tempered a bit when he's played 4 games. Pedantic? Maybe. This all has a bit of twilight zone about it. It doesn't seem long ago that the bulk of demonland it seemed was saying Jetta had no future and I was one of the ones advocating for him to be given another chance. He beats Eddie Betts and now he's our most valuable player. Very odd.
  7. My confidence in him is slowly building. Whilst he kept Griffin relatively quiet, he now has a bit of a calming presence down back that was missed on Saturday night. Besides which Griffin is struggling to get back to his old form anyway. I'd hope to see him back there against the Tigers.
  8. This is a load of garbage. It is your perception which is so far detached from the reality. It's a forum where someone states an opinion, and anyone is entitled to rebutt it. As happens in just about every topic. You come in like a crazed teenage girl defending her favourite boy band, and make it personal. Making insinuations about the poster being a comedian, or having little going on in their life, or some other nonsense. Have you learned nothing from the Neeld debacle, where blindly defending everything and everyone and attacking anyone who dares to question it can bite you on the backside? Seriously fella.
  9. It really is pointless having these discussions with you because you wilfully overlook fundamental points being made. Last post cause I really can't be bothered with you when you carry on like this. For the third time now, I agree he is a valuable member of the team. All I said was that we should steady on in calling him as valuable a player as we have. Once you start endorsing those kind of statements, others can become meaningless. Is Nathan Jones more valuable than Neviille Jetta? Of course he bloody is. master's points if you dissect his post, whilst harshly expressed, were: Point 1: I still think he just lacks interest in being a difference maker (which he can be) Point 2: a passenger until he gets a one on one contest (which he often wins and does well in) or until he can tackle someone. Point 3: I really wish he had the fitness to be a midfielder and tag at times. Point 4: At the moment you have to put him on the best forward from the other team because he only seems to rise to a challenge You addressed NONE of these. You did what you always do. Take it as some sort of bizarre personal affront and insult the poster. You want to be a self appointed representative of the players? Start acting like one.
  10. In responding to master's post you didn't address any of the points he made. Not one. You insulted him, and then summised with "Jetta is playing a role". This is YOUR issue mate. No-one else's. You see every critique as "negativity for the sake of it", when quite often it is nothing but people on a football forum expressing their observations and seeking feedback from fellow supporters, in the hope that they won't be insulted for doing so. I think saying Jetta is as valuable a player we have after he's played 4 games, after being on the brink of delisting, is jumping the gun just a tad. It wasn't meant to be snide, just fact. We need to keep praise in perspective so that it doesn't lose value. He has played his shut down role well. Hopefully the expansions to his game that master alluded to will come.
  11. A potshot? From Saty? How odd. No-one is disputing he has been valuable. I'm chuffed to see him return to the side in good form. Just keeping it in perspective with regard to a player that was recently hanging on to his AFL career by the skin of his teeth. And thank you for explaining the importance of playing a role... I know you respond to every criticism no matter how constructive like people are insulting your grandchildren, but you need to get it through your bonce that we don't all worship the ground they walk on like you do.
  12. Just getting a tad ahead of yourself saying he's as valuable as anyone on the list. Not to downplay the excellent job he did on Betts, but generally speaking I think Jones and Tyson rank slightly ahead of Nev Jetta.
  13. He's playing. Check the Casey match thread(s).
  14. I wouldn't put it totally beyond him.
  15. At least we get a chance at redemption, although it will be a tough ask at Etihad. I wish we got another crack at St Kilda.
  16. Roosy himself has said that if the umpires don't pull the players up then it's fair game. e.g. Macaffer's questionable tactics in tagging Cotchin. If the umpires are allowing it, the response should be to fight fire with fire. They might have man handled a lot more. They also came away with the W.
  17. Not really, it wasn't as though it was off the ball and he's attempted to lower his arm. 1 week was all it deserved and I'm glad that's what it got because this bump business is getting a bit crazy. Viney was (hopefully) the pinnacle of how manic it has gotten.
  18. The Tyson / Salem deal is starting to look like one of the best trade deals of recent times. Let's be honest though. We were due.
  19. I'll qualify it by saying I'll take this feeling every time over the standard post match feeling over the past couple of years.

  21. I really think the defending of Watts is now more out of hope than anything else. Rusty is spot on. His core strength is poor and he loses the one on one battles so often it's embarrassing. Yes he made a couple of good tackles and his intensity has gone from zero to existent, but how often does his seeming lack of desire for the ball or the man cost us? It was happening again tonight and it's not good enough at this level. His strengths get overshadowed by his glaring weaknesses. Tired of watching it. I want 22 desperately hungry players. That's what you need.
  22. Garlo was good without being excellent. It's nice not to get that tight feeling in the chest when one of our defenders has the ball.
  23. The Cross free kick was almost as bad as the Crameri one. Almost.
