It was about the club, not the player. So the club is not a little bird. It's gone beyond ridiculous how much this has been analysed now. If GNF's aim was to put the cat amongst the little birds - mission accomplished. -

Models himself on Selwood for leadership and courage and Wines for contested ball winning and spread Taking some time off with foot injury and some significant bone bruising but thinks he will be cherry ripe for pre-season Sounded like he had a good head on his shoulders -

Maybe he's working on the assumption that your cat's name is mossy? Good name for a cat. -

Trading partner comes in black and white and is not a little bird. Didn't need to distinguish it as not being little. Could've just said bird. Almost definitely the swans. Tom Mitchell seems to have dropped off the radar but yet to be locked in as far as I'm aware? -
The Giants surely aren't letting Treloar go anywhere. If they do they're insane.

I must admit, I've also found that intriguing. All smiles at Dawesy's bash as well, looking chummy with Bernie et al. On the surface he has pretty much spat on our club, considering all that's been done for him, yet the players don't seem to mind one bit. It can be quite frustrasting sometimes being emotionally invested in something yet hardly ever being privy to all the details. -
Jack Trengove re-injures his navicular (2014) - trade deal off

I'm with you that the difference isn't as great as some would believe, but DE stats are almost not worth the paper they are written on. Fair reflecton on Cotchin though because he is a real butcher. Martin uses the ball in attacking positions and often under pressure. When you're chipping ther ball around in the back half then your stats are going to look alot healthier. I don't think it's a matter of Trenners needing to break into their midfield. They're not downgrading 12 to 23 to have him run around in the twos. Fitness permitting, he'll play every game. I just don't think his development will be accelerated as a result of moving to Richmond. His chances are basically as good there as they are here. There's an argument that there would be less pressure on him in a better side, but I still don't believe Richmond are that much better. They scraped through to the finals where they got humiliated, and they were one of four teams that we beat. At no stage did they really look like a team that is going anywhere other than possibly making up the numbers in September where they inevitably had their pants pulled down. -
His last game for the year was a nice teaser of what's in store. How's the collect and snap for this third?

I would've been okay with him not making the 22, but to not even make the 40 man squad was farcical. -

GNF merely passed on the information he had at the time re Clark (if we are to take him on his word). Clark pulled the rug out from under the club at the last minute. Not much GNF or anyone could do to predict it. -
Thanks Andy and happy birthday Nash you old bugger

You do know how to make a grand entrance GNF I'll be deeply saddened to see Trenners go, but you are making it sound alot more bearable. -

I never said he was assured of a flourishing future. I'm saying that if he does flourish, I won't be attributing it to a switch of clubs. I just think he's had rotten luck so far with injuries and other factors. I'm sure Richmond fans will be lining up to take the acclaim however. -

Most players are renewed to some degree by a change of environment, but I don't believe that changing from Melbourne to Richmond is going to be a significant factor in any Trenners rennaisance. If he can resdiscover his early career form, I'd be far more expectant of it being as a result of getting a full pre-season, and a run of games that are injury and stress free. He can have all of that here. He doesn't have the captaincy burden. He doesn't have the same lofty expectations and responsibility on his shoulders. So no, I don't really believe it's the absolute best thing for him to leave. I believe he can flourish at our club where he has built his career. Further, there's been nothing to suggest he is happy to go. The only reports we've had is that he isn't happy, but will do what the club sees as the best move. -
