I agree... use the PSD #1 to get a smokey 19 to 21 year old... a la Jurrah. But if there is someone of quality such as Burgoyne, Lake or any other established, proven performer then utilize it for that.

I'm with you Deestroy All.... The guy simply cannot play and if he is worth anything right now may be worth zilch by this time next year.

I think our list is in great shape at the moment when you consider we have a multitude of young key backs in: Rivers, Warnock, Garland, Frawley A good couple of key forwards in: Watts, Jurrah and to a much lesser extent Newton Then when you add the multitude of capable midfielders including the addition of Scully and Trengrove it is starting to really take shape. So IMO the only thing we need now is to target 3 x Key Position Forwards with picks 11, 18 and 34. This would be wise simply because the odds are most key forwards never come along so we must draft as many quality KPF's as possible. The only area i think we may be lacking in is the ruck division having said that we do have a number of young guys that may still come along such as Meesen, Spencer, Johnson (who i do think is quite good but cops a lot of flack from MFC supporters) and of course Jamar.

I'd be happy to get Burgoyne but i'd rather get our hands on PA's pick 8 or 9 (whichever one it is) in exchange for Jamar and pick 18.

Jamar is nowhere near the quality of Darren Jolly but having said that we are lacking experienced, mature bodied ruckmen. Considering we now possess picks 1,2,11 and 18 i would suggest that Melbourne do not trade Jolly for anything short of pick 9.

Absolutely magnificent result for the MFC. I was convinced that after the inclusion of both Scully and Trengrove (who i think will definetly be playing round 1) that Mclean was going to be pushed out of our best 22. Number 11 and 18 i would think HAVE to be used on key position forwards as i feel our midfield is going to develop quite well when you consider the young talent in there. Scully Trengrove Blease Strauss Jones Moloney Sylvia Grimes Morton Bennell Jetta Davey Petterd We are starting to see the makings of a quality side when you add our growing list of key position backs coupled with the emergence of Watts and Jurrah.

Greetings All, Long time reader, first time poster. I have to agree that we do not require any picks higher than 34. With picks 1, 2, 11, 18 and 34 along with Number 1 in the PSD why would we need any more picks? How many players do you expect to be delisted/retired? My count at the moment is 4 in Robbo, Wheatley, Whelan and obviously Mclean. Obviously if we can engineer a pick under 34 but preferably in the first round then it would be worth going for in order to have a chance at receiving a key position forward such as Temel, Panos etc.
