There aint much not to like about the man.

Weetra has been playing quite well the last few games, especially after moving to the forward line after half a season wrecked with hamstring injuries. Hayes named in the Seniors and Reserves, I thought the kid was good but that is taking it too far.

Not I. We have some stability and you want to screw with it.

According to the Herald Sun permission was given for Bartram, Holland, McLean, Pickett, Sylvia, Warnock, Weetra and Wheatley to all play for Sandy and for Didak, Goldsack, Holland and Medhurst to play for Willie.

It was down on the right HFF from where we watch the game and there were other players between Lyndon and us, so I didn't really see anything. From memory though he dropped an easy mark and was injured in his second attempt to get the ball.

Colin is not listed in the Sandringham squads.

Garland was impressive last week at Sandy, Byron has reached his weight target and Holland proved he was over his hip injury.

I was very impressed in the first half by a more team orientated display than normal from Poyas, and the rewards flowed in the second for all the hard work, he is a very dangerous player and if teamplay is to be an extra dimension to his play this year then Sandy will be the winner. Sandy kicked something like 1.13 for the final quarter it should have been a much, much greater winning margin. One very learned follower (supposedly) has predicted (after watching the first quarter) that Sandy will finish last this year.

I got there a little late and missed Jones' first goal. First half CJ was in everything. Neitz left the ground in the third quarter after chasing from the goal square to the wing and around in circles for a while. He looked ill at 3/4 time, did not reach the huddle for a good couple of minutes after everyone else and then stood apart for sometime. I thought we played all over the Tigers from fullback to half forward where we really broke down. No crumber, poor disposal bombing the ball, the Tigers had plenty of loose players back there, which may have been why we were so dominant around the ground, except for the last 5 minutes of the second quarter. Bizzell was good off halfback if you neglect the idea that he has an opponent (I think he does) cool in a crisis, great in a straight line going forward. Rivers was not allowed by the Tigers to play halfback, whoever he was on dragged him back to the goal square. Wardy runs the ball just about as good as anyone but then turns it over, nothing new there. Browny runs and carries and runs out of room and just gives the ball off to anyone, even when they are surrounded by three opponents; nothing new there either. Chip Frawley has alot of confidence in his ability to evade and loves to run with the pill. Buckley shows enough to be in calculations for round 1. CJ has already been inked into the starting 18 IMO. Interesting that Bate opened the last quarter at CHF. Of the team from yesterday, 4 drop out because there was 8 on the bench, another 1 hopefully for Brock. That is 5 changes to that side. The game was played between a team in our Melbourne jumpers and a team in light blue jumpers. Melbourne jumpers- Jones, Bizzell, Miller, Neitz, Ward, P Johnson, Yze, C Johnson, Green, Bell, McDonald, Robertson, Rivers, Bruce, Jamar, Carroll, Whelan, Hughes and topups. Light Blue jumpers- Buckley, Holland, Bate, Frawley, Dunn, Petterd, Garland, Brown, Neville, Weetra, Newton, Godfrey, Pickett, White, Ferguson, Warnock, Neaves, Hayes and topups. Some of the matchups Buckley and Yze played on each other and both did some nice things. Bizzell on Garland, Garland was good early but I don't think he played much after half time, Bizz was very good the second half. Holland and Neitz didn't really see much of it. Neitz odd in the last and Dutchy cleaned up one of the smaller topups which resulted in a goal after advantage was called. Bate and Jones were matched up for a while and both got plenty of it, I don't think Bate played much of the second half and Jones was on and off all game. Rivers and Dunn, Dunn had the better of the battle IMO, kicked two (one was a 9 pointer I think after a 50). Hayes and CJ, Cj played very well, Hayes had a little bit of trouble in the increased tempo, but I think that will come. Doggy and Green, Greeny won the battle got some very good supply from The Bruce. Frawley and Robbo, Frawley did some nice things but Robbo would have come out on top. Neville and Hughes, Hughes has the ability to find space at will, and if used does very well, excellent mark for his size and uses it well. Neville did some nice things as well. Whelan and Weetra, Weetra was very good early and Wheels was consistant all game without being dominating. Godfrey and Bruce, Bruce was back to his elusive best and Godders hardly got a touch, but in his defence has had an interupted pre-season and when you rely on your stamina the Godders does that really hurts. Warnock and Miller, Warnock was hardly sighted and Miller was disappointing. Carroll and White, neither really stood out abd then White copped a heavy knock to the face and was taken off not to return. Neaves and White Vs Jamar and P Johnson, Jamar was the best big man came off at halftime to rest for Sunday I would say, Neaves and Johnson were Ok. Can't remember who Petterd was on in the first half but did some nice things didn't notice him in the third but walked to the 3/4 time huddle with what looked like a ice pack on his left hamstring. AND just for you Fan Bell and Newton, Newton didn't get a sniff and Belly was sensational, a couple of tackles where he pinned the loose arm to get free kicks were very good. Did not play - McLean, Sylvia, Johnstone, Bartram, Moloney, Wheatley, Davey and Bode.

Ward played on Hughes, who got the ball nearly every time after it had been turned over after Wardy ran off him. Ward plays loose unaccoutable football from halfback and gets caught out frequently.

Just went that is all. Didn't shine out and at times his disposal was sloppy.

I never knew Troy personally. My son knew of him through a friend, but I enjoyed watching him play football, and I believe he would have filled a huge hole that our club has, a fast tall defender with courage to put himself in harms way. In reality he put himself in harms way to save someone very precious to him, his wife Trish. Troy was a hero in every sense of the word but probably never felt like one, he was probably just doing what came natural to him. R.I.P. Big Red Fire Engine, gone but not forgotten.

Peace on Earth and a Melbourne Premiership may be a bit too much to ask for, but lets aim high :D

Agreed Tim, it will ocme down to what Melbourne can offer Juice in the way of a career plan, whether he stays with us or puts himself in the draft, and with the madman from bomberland yelling for uncontracted players to present themselves to the bombers then anything is a chance to happen.
