stef martin was more of a backman than up forward so we could throw him down there... look at collingwood with cloke, dawes, leigh brown and jolly its a similar set up really.

I see a fair few people putting up Grimes I like him but he is too injury prone, he hasn't shown anymore leadership on field than chip. I also see alot of people talking about the media does this really factor into the choice of the captain? You don't see Newman of the tigers doing too much. Once again I state my case Frawley is our best player, is young and leads by example IMO he could be a backline neitz.

I love Brad Green don't get me wrong 2010 was fantastic for him but he isn't captain material have him step down and he will perform better. But on to the topic at hand CHIP, just about the only bloke who goes at it every week, is strong, fast and makes plays, his only downside is that he is terrible infront of the media but I dont really care, throw Watts in front of the camera he seems to like it.... Let's get it done people. CHIP FOR CAPTAIN.

I think Sylvia is right up there in the best players just look at the 2011 stats. 1st in Tackles 1st in Inside 50 3rd in Goals 3rd in Disposals gotta be in top 5....

ive been no fan of Bartam in the past but his last 2 games have been great, against the crow he hard 20 disposals at 100% nothing like the bartam of old.

I can see the difference although it isnt as much as they made it seem i still like it, now all we need to know is the numbers on there backs

My team.... FB: Garland - Frawley - Grimes HB: Davey - Warnock - Rivers C: Bruce - Sylvia - Morton HF: Bate - Green - Watts FF: Jurrah - Miller - Wonaemirri R: Jamar - Moloney - McDonald IC. Johnson - Scully - Trengove - Martin EMERG: Petterd - Spencer - Jones - Blease OTHERS: Bell - Newton - Cheney - Strauss - Bartam - Dunn - Maric - Jetta - Bennell. Ok my reasoning behind the team, first off Grimes is put in the BP to provide the run in deep back to give off to centre or to Davey to pin point a player and to take the kick out providing that Garland is good to go,(if not I'm guessing that i would throw in Bennell and swap Rivers down and Grimes up on the field). Now to HB I thought Davey was amazing on the half back setting up all the plays and jumping in the centre when needed Warnock to take the big CHF and Rivers covering. Bruce floating around the field as he usually does, Sylvia in the centre but moving down to the HF to get a rest giving Trengove a run, and letting Bate take a rest, I see Morton playing a similar role to Bruce floating the the HF?HB setting up the smaller players for the runs and pin pointing forwards. Now the Forward line, Bate to play a Wing/HF like he normally does, Green playing right on the 50 taking grabs and booting long range either goals or delivering it into FF, Then Watts playing a similar role to Bate getting game time and confidence to eventually take over from Green in the next couple of years. Miller finally having a good crack and actaully being the big target (put him in the FF instead of CHF because of his shorter range and less accurate kick than Green), Jurrah to run around leaping and bounding around and little Wona pulling almost a Neon Leon around the goals. On to the followers, the big russian doing most of the rucking with Johnson coming in and coving the big fella when he needs a break, Moloney need I say much we know what he does, and Junior providing great leadership and work rate showing the effort needed by the team to win games. The Interchange... most people won't agree with me but IMO Johnson is the next best ruckman and when he gets going I believe he will be great for us, Scully swaping in for Junior getting the handball out to Sylvia or Beamer and Martin been what the MFC is turning him into a utilty player.... Still not 100% on it all but I can't really fault this team. CHEERS.

IMO I believe that Green should be CHF and Miller deep in FF because of Greens longer range kick and millers bigger body taking the FB and letting Jurrah and Watts run around, it could end up been one potent foward line with the likes of Bate, Wonaeamirri and even Sylvia and Davey swaping in and out.

I'm a little worried about him turning out a bit like Bartram i have only seen a small amount of him but he seems indecisive but only time will tell.

I would want to keep all three of those players, Miller is need to teach little Watts how to go for the ball maybe not kick but to mark at least and Buckley has showed promise is definitely going to be good with a pre season uninjured and bell well i have a soft spot for bell but he has shown more promise than some other players on our list and they deserve to be dropped more than Bell does *cough bartram newton cough cough* PEACE OUT

I dont believe Rivers will be going he is highly rated at melbourne and finally got a full year under his belt he is much more pivotal to melbournes defence than most people give him but we will soon find out. I have no idea about the Everett trade but i dont want him at Melbourne.

Honestly Jamar had a pretty stand out year maybe wouldnt player for player but very high draft pick (a pick we wont use anyway) and i reckon you have yourself a deal.

I would like to see Jurrah with the numbers 5 or 24, 9 to Scully hype up Neita's old number, 13 or 31 to Trengrove but im really not too concerned about it.

Hi guys first time writer, long time reader i hate to see brock go but he hasn't improve on his game enough to warrant him staying, this year he has become slower IMO, I think now was the right time to trade him as IMO he wasn't going to get any better, I'm quite happy with pick 11 we could use it to free up trade deals or draft another player, still sad to see him go though.
