  1. when was all this 'proven' about AB? For mine, nobody has 'proven' anything until they've done what they do in an AFL game for premiership points on a consistent basis
  2. I just picked Grimes as the 'best' example of the player who is missing out for Brayshaw, not sure how much their positions come into it, I doubt it made much difference in the selection.. but IF howe is playing HBF you can clearly argue that he is the one who pushed Grimes out.. if that is the case then yes, you can probably say Brayshaw took the spot of M.Jones (not Grimes).
  3. That's just not true though. I am no Grimes fan boy but he at least gets amongst the best players now and then. I bet you were glad he was playing in the moment captured below in my signature. He's played 86 games which counts for something, that's why he was handy in defense in that close win. The percentage play, in order to win the match, would be to select him over a zero-gamer. That's all I've ever said, and it can't be called 'wrong' it is basic logic. edit: oh it's not there. I'm talking the adelaide win where his most notable effort was to textbook spoil dangerfield who would have certainly put the crows in front
  4. Hmmm keep dodging - will Brayshaw have more of an impact than Grimes would have, simple question
  5. Few people in this thread better hope Brayshaw has a big impact tomorrow. [censored] snipers.
  6. I asked what you think Did you just blindly back everything Mark Neeld did too
  7. FFS what are you even talking about we are favourites to lose the match it is more than likely any debutant is not going to have much impact what part am I making up
  8. so you're declaring now that Brayshaw WILL play better than Grimes would have hypothetically played, and therefore his selection increases our chances of winning the match?
  9. no i'll be saying 'that's all you can expect from a zero-gamer'
  10. I said I would stand by whatever decision is made. It's a day early to be saying whether it's right or wrong. Odds are still in favour of Brayshaw doing nil and us losing comfortably.
  11. would that be the Roos that doesn't watch Casey
  12. I argued this during the week, with particular regard to Brayshaw.. honestly I am right on the fence with this one, the stats say that the less experience you have out there the more games you lose, simple as that. However - Bail, Grimes, M.Jones and McKenzie for Brayshaw, JKH, Vandenburg and Toumpas - I don't think I could bring myself to make that swap if it were my decision. It would certainly boost our experience but does it count when you consider the quality of that experience? It's a tricky one, and one that can never really be answered. PS
  13. Thanks for this - I was going to ask if anyone had the stat.. did you do it manually or source it somewhere? I know you can get it on footywire but only after the game Interestingly our 71 games is actually +6 from our average last year. I guess Lumumba+Garlett-Frawley is the difference?
  14. I'd give these lads a call to confirm they show fox footy http://www.fishcreekhotel.com.au/index.php/contact-us
  15. That's exactly how I feel - I just want to see that they (coaches) had a plan that they tried to execute to kick a winning score. Too many times last year we just wasted inside50s with seemingly no plan whatsoever on how we were supposed to convert them to goals. I wish Dawes was in.

  17. Disagree. With 7 minutes to go we trailed by 13 points. Despite kicking four more we somehow conceded three ourselves (one was a freebie to Ablett). Obviously that could have easily played out in our favour. It was an open ball game for at least 3.5 of the 4 quarters
  18. Michie is a just a typical run-of-the-mill midfielder with low consistency, low damage and zero standout qualities. The MFC has been a factory for these types for a good decade which is probably the main reason we have stunk so badly. Given our dearth of better options, he might warrant selection but he, along with a few others, symbolise where we are at as a club simply by their inclusion in the 22
  19. Cos he's underdone, something goes PING in the first 5 minutes and he is red-vested. Jonesy then goes head to head with their sub for the game
  20. It's the new way of the AFL The constant threat of your best/most favourite players lining up for the opposition The fans love it
  21. McKenzie was certainly on him with 7 minutes to go, when he got a free against him for 'blocking' Ablett at a ball-up in our defensive 50. It was rubbish. Of course he went back and kicked it, extending the margin from 13 to 19.. we kicked 4 goals to 2 after that but we ultimately lost by 8 pts. Could well have won the game if it wasn't for that gift.
  22. not to mention he is in a rubbish side limited inside50s generally not to his advantage almost no other big bodies around to help him I'm not expecting anything at all from him on Saturday
  23. couldn't agree more. I am already looking to Saturday arvo with dread, as I know the likely outcome is another poor showing and comfortable defeat
