  1. Can't see Walker and Betts getting 10 goals combined when they come up against Tommy Mac and Jetta
  2. He pretty much wrote off Jack Watts' entire future after seeing his first couple of games, for that I can never forgive him. To have such stature and to make such public comments about an 18 year old kid was truly pathetic and classless. Not long after that I remember us playing the Lions up there and there was a brief experiment (or maybe it was only mooted) to do with him lining up on Jonathan Brown as a 'learn the ropes' type thing. Old Lethal took great pleasure in sneeringly and condescendingly implying that that Watts is just not near the calibre of the legendary Lion, coincidentally his own team, and would be 'eaten alive'. It had such a tone of hatred for our club to it I wanted to vomit. With 95 games played, many of them very good, I am yet to hear any type of recantation nor apology from this thug. F him.
  3. If we do win this week and end up 4-5 after 9 wins I will be absolutely stoked. With a very decent run from that point on it would give us a real chance to get somewhere near the 8 by year's end. The ones that worry me based on round 1 showings are clearly the top 2, adelaide and Hawthorn. I really don't want them to do to us what they did this week
  4. You really have to feel for Grimes personally - his whole career has been nothing but pain (both physical and emotional) and on Saturday the club as a whole finally got a day of triumph to enjoy and he missed it. Seems like he has had a very stiff run if his journey is now coming to an end just when it looks like we might be getting our act together.
  5. correct, and more importantly, we have to prioritise fielding the team with the most chance of winning the game, over doing the right thing for one player's development
  6. I don't know how it relates to the previous decision of making Toumpas the original sub, instead of Brayshaw, that certainly took me by surprise. It would seem that Brayshaw is rated higher in the pecking order and therefore it is hard to see them dropping AB instead - especially since AB did far better with his game time than the toump. Good post BTW, I'll be buggered if I know why so many here have it in for Toumpas so badly, we are years away from calling him a bust of a pick.
  7. "In fact it got to the point where I even started to enjoy that unfamiliar feeling when you're sick in the stomach at being so far in front that it would be embarrassing to lose but you're not confident your side can hold on." hahah "There was such a carnival atmosphere that even the trumpeteer was wheeled out of the morgue to play during the last quarter. They must have found a cure for 10,000 stab wounds to the back. Is it the same guy who used to wear the velvet jacket and once hit an amazing bum note during the music from Star Wars which provided the perfect metaphor for the Schwab years? Is it also possible that he was sitting there for four quarters at every home game in 2014 waiting to get a run only for us to win nowt but away games?" FMD I just realised this thing is nearly 7800 words long. This bloke is an animal
  8. and they get the crowd factor... which is precisely why its unfair the only vic side with an edge over the others and we are the main ones to feel that edge I guess one way of looking at it is this: If there was justice and we played every 2nd game against them at the G, it would really just mean that another game vs team 'x' would be somewhere away from the G - we also have a quota of sorts for MCG games. Therefore, every time they deny us a fixture against GFC at the MCG, it is somehow compensated for by a home game against someone else that we would not have had otherwise. I don't know if that makes sense but I think it does.
  9. we were up by 18 anyway, had he not fumbled we would still have had a 12 point buffer, its not like it would have put them in front
  10. nutshell has to be JKH for mine, although there might be a reasoning amongst the coaches that says let this first year player, who played no NAB cup, get the 'breather'
  11. That would be a despicable act of cruelty
  12. I know but I can't help it
  13. It's a good thing RalphiusMaximus wasn't addressing the players before the game. He was posting on Demonland. He is implying that if we play again like we did last week, then logically we should notch up a second win, which is a fair and reasonable thing to say
  14. a poor decision and a reflection of how much they desperately depend on one player
  15. Wait, now we're talking about gameday performance, not attendance/drawing power?
  16. I know.. that was utterly stupid. He said that winning by that much is dangerous because the players might think it's just going to happen every week. Idiot. He reckons he is some sort of prophet and he owes Jack Watts a formal apology
  17. Kent didn't do much, I would much rather have had Dawes there than him
  18. Why would we waste our best tagger on their shittiest midfielder :D
  19. well it is obviously unfair. I would wager there is no other two clubs in the competition that have this type of recent history. Why are we forced to just cop this, it makes my blood boil
  20. Are you saying that bc 11 teams have to go there it is always us bc we are the lowest drawing? I still don't get it. I just looked about Geelong vs St.Kilda, Bulldogs and North and the story is NOT the same. Why is it just US that receives this punishment? Why is it OUR problem that the overall match attendance is relatively low, we still take 100% of the loss every time because we don't get a home game at all against them ever
