  1. whoa whoa whoa easy there tiger! don't even raise that as a possibility or you will get called all sorts of names and this thread will be locked for no reason it's just luck OK, really, really, really bad luck that happens every year
  2. i'll go with Jeremy Howe the 'some boys back' must be Jordie? Rivers?
  3. I remember Barty playing a few games that were reminiscent of Matty Whelan, if he can get to that level consistently hes in my best 22 every week without question
  4. not one Jewish person died when the 7-11 on the corner of punt and toorak collapsed
  5. we've been over this but gambling is like alcohol, cigarettes, bungee jumping and junk food, all are hazardous to your health if incorrectly used and it is up to the individual. Whether deesbet exists or not will have no influence on the amount of total gambling, they would just roll the dice with someone else and no we are not in the finacial position to do anything, have you seen our injury list
  6. did you know that 'the world is round' was once a conspiracy theory!
  7. the other thing for me was the way Mike Sheahan questioned him if he or his family had spoken to GWS, TS denied it, and he ashed him again like 'are you sure?' and he denied it again.. it really sounded to me like Sheahan was certain he was telling porkies. Im no sheahan fan but I wouldnt expect him to be fabricating things like that especially since he is a deep-in-the-closet melbourne fan. Could be that Shehan's source was wrong of course but it seemed to me like he was pretty certain
  8. That and losing his old man in his second year
  9. yes thanks for that that's the bit that made my heart sink as it clearly leaves the door wide open
  10. which means we will see a presser on the MFC site saying that 'we regret to inform Tom Scully is leaving' it will still mean that he has never lied won't it?
  11. You make a good point but I still side with Belzebub on that, I can't imagine the offer that is currently available for Scully could/would differ much from the one gets from us later in the year, regardless of what happens on the field. He's a clear cut goer, in every way, there is no doubts over him like there is Watts and Naitanui for example. I'm sure the club is aware of how xritical he is to us and has not held anything back with their offer. We are all just whistling dixie on this though really
  12. disagree with that, if he was to leave there is nothing he has said that can be called an outright lie. He said he hasnt spoken to anyone yet. That doesnt mean he's not going to speak to someone later. That is why i wasnt thrilled with that presser because as KB said staright after 'he didnt totally put it to bed'
  13. let's not speculate on whether swan was a GWS target. It is clearly very reasonable to assume that he may have been as was reported. The fact is he was able to work out with his club a way of getting the deal done with specific clauses so that everyone is happy. They did this because they know it is just bad news for the club to have things like this hanging over their heads. We, on the other hand, have not been able to do this and as a result our supporter forum is chockers with these unsettling discussions. I am asking why is it different. beezlebub is right that there is something a little off about the situation
  14. WTF. I'm not sure i've ever encountered someone with a poorer ability to comprehend and respond appropriately to what someone is actually saying and it's very annoying so i'm not talking to you any more.
  15. well gee that is so not the explanation i was looking for
  16. ummmm it was in the papers buddy, i'm not surprised you don't know what you're talking about. He is a big fish like Scully, out of contract, rumoured to be on the GWS radar and he signed, PROVING that this 'is in his best interests to wait' argument doesn't stand up. Why can't we have Scully sign a similar contract to the one Swan signed, there are a few extra clauses in it. It's a straightforward and perfectly reasonable question. There may well be a perfectly good reason why it's good for the goose (Swan) but not for the gander (Scully) I would appreciate if someone could point it out Now please respond only to the things I have written, don't just mention other random things that cross your mind.
  17. your problem is that you respond to things that the other person hasn't said. All I said was that somebody pointing out 'there's heaps of guys out of contract' means nothing because Scully is the big fish in the eyes of a club who can easily outbid us, so we should be more worried about losing him than other clubs should be about losuing their mediocre players. Surely, surely, surely that is not too difficult to understand.
  18. we'll win everyone in the side knows the challenge is STAY IN FIRST GEAR FOR FOUR QUARTERS we've shown in most games this year we can play brilliant footy in patches, they just need to keep focus for a full match
  19. AGAIN why has Dane Swan signed a contract full of clauses that ensure he won't miss out in any way due to changes that occur in the near future. What is the difference between Scully and Swan just answer that question for me please
  20. Are you serious? What relevance does the fact that he is far bigger target than most that are out of contract? You don't understand.. seriously? I won't expect you to actually clarify your point because I know you don't do that Why don't you just make a template for your posts that says EVERYTHING'S FINE AT MELBOURNE STOP TALKING ABOUT IT seriously save your nothing 'arguments', people here actually discuss things
  21. how many times does it need to be said that not every player is Tom Scully. He is every chance to be the next Judd, the bloke that leads his club to premierships and puts bums on seats. I don't care if Johnny Nobody with no left foot over at Port Adelaide is out of contract also, GWS obviously don't want him as much do they?
  22. interesting that the HS rubbish posted about Cale has 105 replies, and the refutation piece written by Cale himself and posted by our club has 5 replies
  23. to me that's what he was explicitly stating not even in a veiled way he's saying that everyone gets instructions from the coach, and if blokes dont follow them the system doesn't work. He is saying he is guilty of this, deserved to be dropped, and now he is learning it. I say good on him for writing that it is a ballsy thing to do and interesting that the club posts it on the same day the HS has a slagpiece on him getting dropped and leaving the club, what garbage. can't believe nobody else has raised the bit about Barty being one of the most rated footballers at the club, he gets absolutely no rating on this site
