  1. May as well appeal, if they lose Beamer still only gets 1 week, due to an existing good record. The charge is outrageous, and I'm sure the club feels the same way, especially after the Kennedy/Sylvia fiasco.
  2. It's on live on Ten in Sydney. Also, bizarrely enough, in regional Qld. But FFS. Underwood? I'd be surprised if ANY of our players got the ball according to her commentary.
  3. Dang. Slightly too slow.
  4. Looks like the 'glove' incident was just preparing for this week....Demons thinking about gloves for Darwin
  5. Yep. He's definitely Junior Junior.
  6. He faceplanted the turf after getting a forearm to the head from Cox.
  7. 6. McDonald - brilliant yet again 5. Grimes - not helped by the midfield 4. Jamar - 3 excellent quarters with no backup 3. Frawley - kept them quieter than they should have been 2. McKenzie - never gave up 1. Warnock - to a lesser extent than Frawley
  8. I'm on the Moloney bandwagon (and admit that I would've preferred him over Junior, so now I look ridiculous). Just watch the footage of the Team Song after the Brisbane game again. If he isn't the most passionate MFC man in the team, I'll walk barefoot to the Gulf.
  9. Yep, one of a handful who signed 1-year contracts last year.
  10. Agreed. However, Jesus tapdancing Christ do I hate Dwayne Russell. Being in QLD, with almost all the Dees' games being broadcast on Fox Sports, it seems that he's commentating on all of our games, and there's no other option! (FTA excepted). Hopefully this will change with our rise up the ladder (doubtful, as Brisbane always seem to get the 7:30 Saturday slot on Ten up here.....)
  11. This may be another way bottoming out when we did may help us. As far as other fans are concerned, when some of these players are discussed, it becomes "They can't even get a game with MELBOURNE FFS." I'm not saying that the administrators at GC & GWS will be THAT narrow-minded / short-sighted, but remember that GWS did hire Sheeds.
  12. ^This. From my understanding (in QLD pubs FWIW) they're programmed to return less than 82% of money put into them (and give >10% to the government). This is slightly higher at the casinos (85%?), but only because of the sheer number of pokies contained there. I never have, and never will, understand the appeal of these stupid machines to the punter, but when they're all pulling in >$10000 a MONTH, I can understand why licencees absolutely adore them. That's not to say I don't like to bet, but I prefer to do it where a computer doesn't determine the outcome as soon as you press a button. (UniTAB Sportsbet all the way!)
  13. Point taken, apologies for the detour.
  14. Really? This is the line we're worried about against Carlton? I'd be more worried about Judd/Murphy/Gibbs/Carazzo, personally. Our backline (without Joel McDonald) is deceptively quick, for the height they are. Magnificent closing speed. But to answer the question posed, Bartram, Strauss (more medium-sized, though), possibly Jetta/Bennell to rotate through.
  15. Why? Harry O'Brien follows Cam Schwab, Nathan Jones and the Kangaroos, but I don't think he'll be coming here or going to Arden Street any time soon! Storm in a teacup stuff.
  16. Try this: Demonwiki I believe Supermercado does quite a lot of work on this. An excellent resource!
  17. Haydn Bunton, Sr. did it as well. I'm not holding my breath while messrs Judd, Ablett, Griffen and Black are still tearing it up.
  18. This. I'd be very surprised (overjoyed, but surprised nonetheless) if he gets promoted from the Casey reserves even within 3-4 weeks of returning from the injury.
  19. Exactly. The worst thing for my money is this horrible 'ducking into tackles' malarkey. Happens at least ten times a game, player gets the ball in congestion, and immediately ducks his head to draw the free. I know we have to protect the players' heads, but geez, shouldn't some of the onus be on THEM?
  20. If he gets 2, he'll have equalled Dunn's best return this year. Being a No.1 draft pick, may also attract the No.1 defender, freeing up Green and Bate (relatively). Shouldn't happen, but we won't know unless we try?
  21. Yep, I'll probably change my mind on Bartram after Saturday's game. Typical fickle MFC supporter.
  22. 1) A win (obviously). 2) Commentators to gush over someone BESIDES NicNat, even if it is only for a few seconds. 3) Sylvia BOG. I need one of my pre-season speculatory bets to pay off!
  23. Yep, it was difficult leaving that 2nd ruck choice out, but I thought I'd give Watts the benefit in this case. Was definitely considering Bennell to FP, Bate to CHF, Martin to the bench and Watts to the emergencies. And Bruce's engine is still outstanding. Watching the replays, he seems to be everywhere.
  24. Alright, here's my semi-educated opinion (feel free to judge/heap scorn on) FB: Rivers, Warnock, Garland HB: Grimes, Frawley, Bruce C: Morton, Trengove, Moloney HF: Davey, Watts, Sylvia FF: Jurrah, Green, Bate Foll: Jamar, McDonald, Scully Int: McKenzie, Petterd, Jones, Bennell Emg: Bail, Martin, MacDonald, Bartram All dependent on matchups on gameday. Already getting hard, and we've yet to see about 10 players be given a decent crack!
  25. yep. Power, Proud, Selwood out: Black, McGrath and Clark in.
