Sorry Dr, I totally disagree, and I harp on similar discussion each and every year. Premiership sides generally have 2 rucks and 2 key forwards. Let's look at Geelong, the have West and Stephenson as rucks, and Hawkins and Pods as forwards. Collingwood generally play Jolly and anotehr ruck (was Woods the other night), and they have Dawes and Cloke forward. Hawthorn in 2008 had Campbell and Renouf in the ruck, Buddy and Roughy in the forward line. It is why I also say to my Carlton supporting mates that they will struggle to win a flag this year. They have Kreuzer and Hampson in the ruck, but onbly have Waite up forward. They need to get Warnock in to that team, and perhaps have Kruezer or Hampson playing that 2md KPF role. Andrew Walker isn't it, and I strongly believe they won't win a flag until this issue is rectified. The issue in your posts is more about the quality of the players you mentioned. I firmly believe that Rivers and Sellar should be competing for the same spot, especially now that Tommy Mc is holding his own in the firsts. I have absolutely no concern with our backline, and still beleive it's one of the better ones in the league (they get plenty of practice!). Our "big 4" will be Jamar (or perhaps Gawn) and Martin in ruck, Clark and Watts forward, then we will be getting close to push for a flag. At the moment, Watts isn't ready to demand that 2nd tall option, but it's coming. Hopefully by the time that arrives, we will have a mdifeld that can win its own footy and our inside 50 count increases dramatically. Given that we are averaging 18 blokes each week that aren't performing well, I don't think Martin in the forward line is the first issue we need to address. Let's get the ball down there on a regular basis first, then we'll see.

The biggest thing I noticed about Watts on the weekend was the amount of times he dished out a handball to a player who was 5 metres in the clear. Our other players continually handballed to blokes under pressure. I would imagine Watts' effective disposal rate was one of the highest for the team.

It would be more like going to see your ex-girlfriend's hot Mum who is recently divorced. She'll need to get back on the bike (so to speak) at some stage, but you know you shouldn't do it.

And get him in a few pretend fights out the front of nightclubs, pi$$ all over bars and get someone to call McGuire's radio show and complain about what a filthy animal this kid is!

Only if the teams under us believe Viney is worth their first pick. If they don't, and therefore don't make a bid, we could get Whitfield and Viney. Perhaps we should have a word in young Jack's ear, somehow force GWS to take him with their number 1 pick, we pick up Whitfield or whoever is the 2nd best in the draft (assuming we finish 3rd last!), then in 2 years we will get Viney back. In that time, Jack complains about a suspect knee injury, and manages to play a handful of games. How's that grab ya Sheedy?!

What about his brother Shaun?

Grand-Ma-Rino... I know the A is meant to be an E, but I couldn't do anything about that...
-
Speaking of that, I wonder how Tim's Grandma Rino is going?
-
It will happen...one day. When it does, I hope SoJV (son of Jack Viney) is progressing well and is being spoken about by Emma Quayle's daughter as that year's numbher 1 pick!
-
Ah, that's the English definition I was looking for DC, cheers! But at the end of the day, if we finish on top, and we have a F/S that is a potential number 1 pick, I think it works perfectly.
-
Would be best if you bale then before it's too late.
-
I may be wrrong sloonie, but it's only the teams with picks below us that can disadvantage us. At the moment, there doesn't appear to be too many below us!
-
Really RP? I can understand that if Vine is rated a Top 3 prospect, butif he were to slip in predictions to be a pick 5, and we had 3rd pick, and GWS declared that they would pick him with their number 1 pick if we didn't take him with our 3rd pick, they have to honour that, meaning we would get the potential number 1 or 2 pick, depending on what way the Gold Coast went. Wow, I hope that makes sense - I know what I was trying to say!
-
Isn't there a certain rule though, something like if any team that finishes above us, if they declare that they would pick him up with their first round pick, we have to use our next pick directly after that? But if it's a team that finishes below us that state they would pick him up, we have to use our very first pick after theirs? For example, if GWS finish 18th, and end up with Pick 1, and they say that they would take Viney with that pick, for us to get him, we have to declare that we will use our pick closest to the GWS selection. So if we finish 16th, then we have to use our Pick 3 on him. Or If Geelong finished on top, meaning their first pick would be pick 18, if they are the only Club that bid for him, it would mean we have to take him with our first pick after Pick 18 (which would be 21 - not counting compo picks in these examples). Is that right or am I wrong with the "teams finishing above us" rule?

I was talking to a kiwi the other day, and he couldn't believe how in Australia, we shear sheep. He said "back home, we don't shear them with anyone"...

You'd like to think Lamb will be an expert at finding Followers.

Craig Smoker?

DC - I get nothing for this? Damn, thought that was some of my best work, especially compared to the earlier stuff I posted! Bugger - just noticed the spelling mistake - should've been "check" not "chack", maybe that's where the confusion was! B)

Q. What's the difference between the Melbourne Herald Sun and the New Zealand Herald? A. The Melbourne Herald Sun runs an article with the heading "Lamb travels across the Tasman to check out talented New Zealanders"...
-
This is his problem - 13 x I50 tackles one week, how many the next 5 weeks? He's not on his own, but the type of role he plays is an area that we have 3 or 4 players that can play it.
-
I hope for his own saftey that the proposed push by St Kilda to play AFL games in New Zealand, that the MFC don't have a baa of it.
-
To be honest, Energy Watch were always considered a co-major sponsor, as appeared on the MFC website. Reality is, we couldn't find a business/organisation that deemed the FoJ to be worth the $1.9m+ investment, and as such, were always at risk of starting the season with no sponsor.
-
And players that can kick the bloody thing well. I'm sick of our blokes that continually shank it.
-
Absolutely DC. I just hope he can find players that can run out forequarters...

I hope this champ doesn't turn out to be a chump...
