  1. Future captain material and I don't like to anoint the young kids too early. He is a smooth operator on and off field.
  2. Ok so he WAS talking out of his [censored]
  3. Well that didn't fill me with any confidence at all 😞
  4. I'd love to see teams try to put a bit more physical pressure on him. Nothing untoward just see how he would handle some tough bodywork.
  5. Love hearing this although just want to check, is this one of the instances we believe Morris or one of the times he's talking out his [censored]? 😉
  6. How are Switzerland and Finland somehow defined as eligible?? Pacific Island talent part of possible NGA changes - https://www.afl.com.au/news/1278009 Also in the above article, no doubt they'll change the rules to I clude Pacific islands but we'll still get screwed because the changes won't come into effect until after Ah-Mu is draft eligible.
  7. But Switzerland and Finland do???
  8. I didn't notice Underwood/Riewoldt so much but felt Healy was a pain to listen to with his pro-Freo commentary. Actually I thought Underwood had improved as I used to think she was absolutely intolerable but I hardly noticed her (perhaps just me).
  9. I thought the NGAs were only for indigenous players or a player with at least one parent born in Africa/Asia? I didn't realise it was anywhere overseas?
  10. Yeah freo made it pretty easy for us to get through their zone with handball, I wonder how we will fare against a team like the Pies who apply great pressure and clamp down on the ball carrier. The quick handball chains look good when they come off but when you hit a brick wall (like the Saints did last night vs the Dogs) trying to get through the midfield you can fall apart pretty quickly.
  11. Petracca looked a lot better playing more attacking footy and streaming out of the middle but his disposal was shocking, he butchered at least 3 inside 50s that I recall and that set shot. Salem also played a lot better but made 3 or 4 crucial errors which a player of his maturity just should not be making. Oliver again was a lot better looking to handball first instead of dump kick but if I remember there were two turnovers he had which resulted in goals to Freo. If these three mature/experienced players can clean their disposal up even a little it will go a long way to fixing some of our problems.
  12. "Tiges supporters hate Docklands" they were already wheeling out the excuses last night on the coverage
  13. JVR will be fine once he's able to play 2nd KPF and not have to backup ruck.
  14. Midfielders that kick goals are worth their weight in gold.
  15. I was actually surprised with the 25k, considering our form and the long weekend I thought we'd be lucky to crack 20k. I bet those who turned up are glad they did.
  16. Nothing in it
  17. Yep my kids were going nuts for Kozzy yesterday, that was the loudest they've ever been at a game. It helps when the kids have plenty to cheer for, they want the quick play and goals they don't appreciate the defensive stuff so much as it's not as exciting for them.
  18. We're on the hook for a lot of Brayshaw's salary. https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/sport/afl/exercising-with-demons-christian-petracca-returns-to-training-track-20241122-p5kssh.html?ref=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_source=rss_feed
  19. I said it was a very good season, it wasn't Essendon 2000, Cats 2008 or Hawks 88 levels of dominance though. I wasn't trying to cut down his achievements more to put them in context. And I agree with what you're saying and that was my point - our 2021 season wasn't solely down to Goodwin being a master coach, there were others at the top of their game all contributing. You're actually agreeing with me there 😈
  20. Loved Kolts game too although he was quieter after leaving the field before half time (HIA?) Also how good was Rivs run down pantsing in the last quarter, saved a certain goal and possibly the game.
  21. It makes such a difference when the play on the field gives the crowd something to cheer about.
  22. I was honestly anticipating a 100 point loss today, I was prepared for a very ugly game. So happy with the effort and style of game the team showed, hopefully this will convince some more to turn up on Thursday too.
  23. Sparrow missed from just outside the goal square too
  24. What a fantastic performance and credit to Goodwin for moving the magnets around a bit too. Absolutely stoked with that performance, the run and carry, lowering the eyes, kicking to advantage, leading up to the ball carrier and above all the PRESSURE was there from the first bounce. I would rather see that maniacal attack on the ball and fight each other for it than see two players sitting back. A game that I will enjoy watching the replay for. Kozzie, 5 goals and actually hung onto a soeccy as well! Petty was great in attack and Petracca, Gawn, Viney and Oliver were back to their best. Bowey was superb as well, his first quarter was unbelievable, the pressure, ferocity and ball use 👏
