  1. I agree. Of course if we lose tomorrow I'm jumping from the Rialto.
  2. "Contrary to reports, McCartney was not demoted from the Demons’ coaches’ box to the boundary line this year. It was simply a return to the role McCartney had been playing for the previous three years." Well, there ya go
  3. He will if he doesn't have a choice a la Jack Watts.
  4. I think he's fixed this somewhat he's kicked goals from 50 recently. But any issue would be because he doesn't get full extension of the leg (ie his knee is bent)
  5. I reckon it was getting g fined for not tanking. AFL would've looked stupid and had lots of club kick back if they then handed us a PP.
  6. Surely the AFL wouldn't award a priority pick to a club who clearly tanked?
  7. Tyson and Vince would clear up a little space you'd think
  8. I could've told you that! Seriously I don't put any stock in anything these new breed journos say, more likely to source info off here than anyone connected in the footy world.
  9. Prestia went to Richmond. Turned out well but at the time it seemed a purely financial decision.
  10. That's a stretch saying Hunt is "classy" ?
  11. I thought he was bloody terrible today, I'd drop him for Viney on that effort and bring Salem in for ANB.
  12. Are people seriously still arguing OMac is no good?
  13. Oscar had a strong second half of last season and has followed it up with a very good start to 2018. Wrapt for him as he has copped plenty since debuting but is now showing why the FD has shown the faith. He is extremely solid down back and has built some confidence which is helping immensely. Great to see and I have faith now that he'll get the job done when the ball heads down there.
  14. Oh really? Love this kid, we've found one here. His intent is fantastic and he is NOT a skinny runt like I was expecting. Loves to get his hands dirty and doesn't mind getting stuck in, I love him. Great pick again JT
  15. NFL

Jets get Darnold I was expecting Mayfield wonder if Browns will live to regret that decision. Looking forward to next season hopefully the Jets can get back to playoffs it's been a long drought as a Jets/Demons supporter
  16. We need to get to a baseline of 50k hopefully finals this year will help that.
  17. Ponsford stand is all Collingwood reserved areas for all their MCG games (home and away). So those empty spaces are due to Collingwood supporters no showing.
  18. There was 85k last year and 88k at ANZAC Day. There was steady rain for both games from memory.
  19. The only reason it won't get 85k is if the weather is a torrential downpour or MFC members don't turn up. I don't think either will be the case.
  20. If we can pull wins out over the next couple of weeks we should be aiming at 45k. Shouldn't underestimate the value of Anzac Eve as a home game (every 2nd year) moving forward either, being a member may be the only way to get a decent seat.
  21. That's what I thought - so the fact we are getting the arms up in tackles to get a handball away means even when we are "tackled" on those occasions it does not count towards the tackle count as we are able to get away an effective disposal.
  22. That's a good point, tackles only count if you don't get a possession off don't they? (Or do they break the tackles stat down to effective and ineffective tackles?) We seem to be raising our arms to get handballs off in a tackle far more this year (and Petracca just bulldozing through tacklers) which would result in fewer effective tackles.
  23. Was going to say the same thing. We're more prepared to move the ball forward at all costs, knock ons, kick off the ground, quick handballs over the top of a tackler. Previous years we've more inclined to handball backwards then sideways and around in a circle. I'd say moving it forward and getting a kick off quicker would result in being tackled less.
  24. This guy seems to have gone to another level this year. He seems to be really enjoying his footy and the freedom that had come from playing further up the ground and being allowed to play his natural game rather than sitting in the goal square with defenders hanging off him. His body language has improved exponentially and he is in career best form. This is a credit to a young man who endured a year of hell in 2017. I look forward to watching the rest of his season and career play out, he will be a key piece to our 13th flag when we finally get there.
