This was the last draft I had anything to do with and I never understood the Ainsworth love. Seemed very vanilla for a top 10 pick.

Welcome to Demonland: Max Heath
We had a Max King at one stage. The illegitimate son of Gawny and Steven. Unbelievable to think he lost the genetic lottery.

Welcome to Demonland: Max Heath
Known for his aggression and tackling pressure, Heath stated that "I just enjoy tackling and being really physical on the ground, because I know it elevates my teammates into going in harder. They know I’m going in just as hard, and hopefully I can protect them or really help them out in that sort of way. I don’t want to hurt people, [but] I want to have a real physical impact on the game and put kids into the ground. Now, I’m focused on putting men into the ground.” Beaumaris Sharks footy factory product. Hopefully can do something every other player, other than Dogga, couldn’t do; co-exist with Maxy.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
I hope GWS wins the flag in 26. I am ok with Clazza moving on as I think he needs change as much as the club does. But he was my favourite player from day zero at the club. His first 100 games were the best first 100 I’ve seen. Always nice to me personally and to my kids. I hope this is the change he needs and he gets back to his best. We will move on as a club and give some of our younger players new roles and responsibilities which might enable us to surprise the competition and play some meaningful footy in 26.

It’s definitely a consideration. I’m not saying they wouldn’t trade with Hawthorn or Collingwood, more that they’d prefer not to if they have a choice. In other professional sports it’s a serious consideration.

They generally do but, without doing any research to see if there is precedent, it would seem odd to openly trade a contracted player to a team that you think is one of your main competitors for a flag. Especially a player of significance. GC could effectively tell him that he’s contracted but would consider a trade to a team that can provide the return that GC needs. Otherwise, see you at preseason Bailey!!

Just to add to Demons Forever’s update. I was told last night that we have an advantage over Hawthorn & Collingwood in that we have a massive trade chip in Petracca. Yes obvious I know. On top of that, GC sees those two clubs as top competitors for next years flag and sending Humphrey to either club is unpalatable to Dimma. We have been steadfast in our pursuit of Humphrey and we should have a bit of direction from player and agent by Friday.

Farewell Christian Petracca
Some might consider that personal growth

I wouldn’t. I expected 2025 to be a rebuilding year for Trac. I think he’s in great condition, works his butt off and is competitive. If he plays for GC next year, I’d expect an AA type year from him. I really rate BH but he has never played full time mid, hasn’t shown the running power to be one and still needs to work on his consistency. He could explode but I think it’s a far better bet that Trac outperforms him in 26.

I’ve said this before, he’s a mental midget, he may not have considered that.

The List Manager Tim Lamb
Yeah. Buzz words….. Can Demonland make “learnings” a filtered profanity? I [censored] hate it! Bit of water to flow under the bridge. 9 days of posturing and tough talk ahead. I think we’ll end up ok though. I had totally forgotten about McVee’s trade request until watching that video. He is dead to me. What a soft boiled egg he turned out to be.

Humphrey would instantly become one of our top 5 players. I like Windsor but he might even crack the starting 22 at the Dogs.

This ⬆️ People who think Trac isn’t capable of getting back to AA form have far differing opinions than both MFC and GC. Dimma wants a flag next season. This could be the deal that brings that want to life.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
I think there a couple of conspiracies in play. 1: As a part of the AFL equalisation fund, we need to provide AFL trade radio with enough content to keep the station afloat. No content, no payments! This has to explain our ability to generate headlines! We are elite at it. 2: The MFC just informed me yesterday that my membership has automatically rolled over into 2026. Less than 24 hours later we tell Oliver, my favourite player of all time, to look elsewhere! Can’t tell me that is a coincidence!!!! #itsthevibe or is it #Illuminati Either way, I’m not happy and going to have a glass, yes a full glass, of my favourite Oban.

We could find one. Just couldn’t keep it.

Yikes. Deleting that wording from my vernacular. And I prefer, “Goody” over “Goodie”. Don’t want people confusing me with a terrific British TV show from the 70’s.

Whomever is still leaking this information needs to be found and silenced. Again, we are walking into trade week with rumours and innuendo swirling about our club. Some are true and others are not but the optics of it are not helpful in us recruiting players as potential swaps for Trac etc. We don’t help ourselves in this space and allow the media free rein to stick as many pins in us as they want. FWIW, my understanding is that the meeting between King and Oliver is a scheduled meeting like other players. The outcome is not predetermined.

Shocking human being. Hates Melbourne with a passion.

Even unofficial coterie type groups not knowing their place. If you spoke to the current bunch in the Coterie you’d realise the level of info they get is pretty high level. They won’t be the source. It’s well known that we have a bunch of King Makers who lurk around the club. Want a rumour just ask them. Media know them.

The answer is StKilda, Essendon and Carlton….. “Name three AFL clubs with rubbish recruiting!” 🤔

2025 Player Reviews: #10 Daniel Turner
Love him. I remember when we drafted him. I was amazed how we found a player with so much untapped upside. Apparently works his backside off and deserves the plaudits. Still my pick for future captain.

Yeah but on a personal level, that’s not his ideal position. He wants to play midfield.

Posturing. It’s like negotiating with your kids! Stick your flag in the ground as far away from the resolution point as possible to start. See who blinks first. He’s gone.

Funny how the overly parochial Adelaide media is feeding the whole narrative that Rachele is untouchable. It would be like having the Melbourne media full of Garry Lyon clones telling Adelaide to pay up!! It’s nonsense. We’ve done a bit of background work on Rachele and ultimately, 9 times out of 10, if the player in question is happy to move and agrees to a contract with us, the other club will let him go. It will be up to our list management team and leadership group to convince a player like Rachele to request a trade. If Trac at 75% (which he was during 2025) was playing in the Adelaide midfield in September at the expense of Rachele; I’d expect the Crows to have been much more competitive. Funnily enough, his fit with Gold Coast looks less than ideal which is why I think he favours a move to Adelaide. The Suns are stacked for mids but need to find more avenues to goal. A bit of a wait and see regarding other clubs interest. Hawks lurking and Trac wouldn’t hate moving to Sydney.

2025 Player Reviews: #20 Xavier Lindsay
Shrewd trade and pick by us. Looks very good. Like his balance and skills. Got heaps of development in him too which is pleasing. 2 more players like Lindsay and Langford from the draft this year please!
