  1. They are very different players. That’s the best reason not to compare them. Danger can play a pack marking CHF and his burst from stoppage is incredible even at 35. His approach to a contested ball is maniacal. Trac, when forward, plays a roaming role where his ability to be clean and involve teammates in scoring strings is elite. As mids, they start in similar positions but go about their business in different ways too. Both are stars of the comp. But different.
  2. This is correct and well put. It’s a conscious uncoupling. Everyone in the room is aware of it. The only barrier is the venn diagram where our requirements are met by the destination club. Can we get what we think is reasonable? The current requirement is a player and FRP pick(s). Clubs like Hawthorn are baulking at that as they don’t want to give up on any of their senior players. They just want to trade picks. In the end I think it will get done for picks and we’ll convey one of the picks to another club for a player 23-26 years old who can slot straight into the best 18.
  3. Brownlow Medal wins are only good for marketing opportunities. It hasn’t consistently reflected the best and fairest player of the year for decades. I didn’t even watch it last night.
  4. We were into Josh Rachele 18 months ago. That’s not a rumour. Maybe we’d put him as a starting point for any trade? We also want draft collateral so it the deal would require some special sauce from a 3rd team… this is me making a rumour.
  5. Who knows. Maybe they’ll build the stadium and it will become a tourist attraction like McCaig’s Folly. Dillon’s Folly. Nice ring to it.
  6. Be hard to see them give up on Walter just yet. Unless they get Curnow or someone similar. I think they’d trade King though.
  7. Wow indeed. I’d like him to stay as I think he could potentially be a starting 18 player on a very good team. My question is, what does peak McVee look like? What’s the comparison? In my mind he is a role player/utility who could move around the ground who beat skills. I don’t think he is going to be any better than that.
  8. This is 100% correct. A lot of MFC eyebrows were raised. It was a spectacular error on Trac’s behalf. He is a mental midget so it’s possible he thought he was funny. It’s also possible he really doesn’t want to hang around. Again, like last year, it would be so easy for him to control this narrative if he so chose to. Waiting….
  9. He was there.
  10. Was a neighbour of mine 10 years ago. Very nice fella. Highly rated assistant. The question is, as a part of his introduction slash hazing, does Kalani get to kick him in the face?
  11. Unrelated to Judd, there were a few whispers on Tuesday night that we are trying to get back into the top 10 of the draft. Targeting 2 players. How that gets done or if it’s realistic is anyone’s guess.
  12. Wasn’t just footy players on the trip.

Yep he was agitating when he signed his current deal. Should’ve either moved when he was out of contract or done his job and honoured the contract.
  14. He looked flat last night at the B&F. I assumed he’d made his mind up. Didn’t help that his wing was in a sling but even so. Flat.
  15. I agree with your observations. It’s hard to see what he will become as an AFL player. So many aspects of the game don’t come naturally to him as you pointed out. And nothing irritates me more than a player who acts tough but doesn’t know how to get his own pill. Except for your first sentence, which I don’t agree with as I have never rated Kolt, the rest makes up a concerning dossier for a player that we’ve invested heavily in.
  16. I watched the game for all of 5 minutes and heard BT bring up that it was inappropriate to boo Quaynor. Very very poor form from the Crows fans. Pathetic actually. Not unexpected though. Some of the worst fans out there. Re Collingwood. I think the thread title could’ve just stopped after the 3rd word.
  17. I thinks it’s pretty natural to look at both situations and apply different rules and judgements. Trac felt aggrieved. Felt the club didn’t support him and was not enforcing core values that drive successful outcomes. (By the way, I would challenge him on the latter. From what I was told, that was a managed message from his people.) He felt it best to try the scorched earth approach and make the club implode by feeding the media. It failed from the perspective of his exit but it damaged the clubs brand (ironic no?) to the point that we were completely on the nose with potential draftees, their parents, their agents, potential trade targets, their parents, their agents and so and so forth. It even impacted commercial partners perceptions. He even got sacked by his management. (Unconfirmed) If you get a chance, ask Tim Lamb what he felt about last years trade period. He was forced to bring a knife to a gun fight. Clayton is different. Clayton has been a player that has required more steering than other players during his time with us. His output from day one has been incredible with a large drop off in 23 & 24 and glimpses of the old Clazza late in 25. The club has helped him in a lot of ways but also at times turned a blind eye to some of his antics as his performance was elite. His inner turmoil, personal problems and injury lead to a nasty spiral which impacted a large amount of people at the club and our performance as a team. The blast radius was large but it was a result of severe ill health, not an intentional act of defiance. It happened to coincide with a downturn in performance from the team as well. Poor timing. So, do I look at the two of them differently? Absofookinglutely! Trac thought he was bigger than the club and could force his way out. No matter the collateral damage. That includes supporters and members! Clazza also helped bring the club down but not in a deliberate way. Please don’t get me wrong, when he was talking with Geelong I was furious. How could he do that? Both were failed by the club in some way. Both handled themselves poorly. But someone who deliberately drags my club through the mud will need to do a lot more to get back in my good books!
  18. I remember our recruiting team was addressing future father son selections at a function. They didn’t mention Noah. Someone asked why and the response was, he has talent and could become an AFL player but it would have to be as a power forward. They also said that his focus, at the time, wasn’t purely on AFL so his development was behind his peers. I had a loose connection to Caulfield Grammar at the time and asked about Noah’s abilities and they agreed that he was talented but not sure what he wanted or was going to do. On that basis, his rate of improvement this year is not too surprising and there should be a lot more improvement to come. He has a fanatic set shot routine and is smart. Worth a roll of the dice I’d say.

I don’t think it’s real. Whilst he may be considering his options, he can do so in the privacy of his own home. And let his agent do the talking. He’s not stupid.
  20. I think he became a product of our game plan. He has poor hands so getting on his bike and providing longer leads will help him. It will also help clear space behind him which, to be honest, may make us more dangerous. He’s an interesting talent but may end up out of the game if he doesn’t lock down a position. Big year for him in 26.
  21. There were a few 2000 GF players involved
  22. Also a tremendous boxer from all reports. There was a rumour years ago that he took down 7-8 Bombers players at a bar about 10 years ago.
  23. I hear ya…. Most of it all is hyperbolic rubbish and the rest is utter [censored].
  24. JJJ replied to SthSea22's topic in Melbourne Demons
I’m not having a go or disagreeing but I had to laugh at the list of things he’s not great at in your post. No 2nd efforts as he isn’t fit enough. Needs a new voice/coach. Lacks size. Poor set shot. Not a threat in the air. Sounds like a perfect key forward prospect. 🫠
  25. Stkilda is the titanic and de Koning is the iceberg. What are they doing?
