I'm hoping the rumour on twitter re an announcement today are true - China Southwest Airlines sponsorship to be announced today?
-
They started talking about an article in the paper re Izzy having 3 touches for his $6m salary and how unfair it was. Stick with him blah blah blah etc. Mike went on to say that the really worrying $6m man was $cully, graphic came up showing his poor output - 1 kick, 4 handballs, one goal assist. Mike reckons he's a fan but said $cully wouldn't want to turn in too many more performances like that.
-
DING DING DING! We have a winner. I would reword though and say "I'd imagine until GWS win a flag".
-
Good to see Mike Sheahan give him a little whack On The Couch last night. There was a little comparison between the output of the two GWS $6m men - both were very poor. Sky News sports segment was also a little uncomplimentary about our favourite little liar. PRESSURE PRESSURE PRESSURE! Get used to it $cully, everyone is watching you. I hope this doesn't drive him to train harder, his knee might flare up if he does.
-
That's all good and well but when the AFL's "interests" are up at the tribunal the amount of weeks is first decided then the ratings system massaged to make sure the outcome is what the AFL want. If (god forbid) GWS made the Grand Final and their star forward was up at the tribunal for belting someone "off the ball" the AFL would simply change the meaning of "off the ball" for that week. It's happened before.

You can't look at who they subsequently picked up to see if they were fairly compensated you look at what they actually received. They did very well getting pick 3, 20 and Kennedy imo.
-
The thing that has been overlooked in this thread is the amount of players seemingly available to play on Friday. If you take away Spencer and Gawn we're in pretty good shape going into the NAB cup from an injury perspective. Touch wood!

I pledge to bag the living daylights out of him at every single opportunity until the day either he or I die.
-
Happened about a month ago I believe. He's been slagging off management at every opportunity andbagging TVN over twitter quite regularly.
-
Unfortunately Turfy has left TVN. I used to enjoy the banter between him, Richo and Terry Bailey.

or telling the truth......

vistaprint.com.au - not sure about getting it on a red t-shirt though. Check out the website.
-
Not to my knowledge. You might be thinking of Don Argus who I believe is a MFC supporter......
-
Not necessarily.

My $cully t-shirt arrived today. The photos a little bit rubbish but you can see it here: https://twitter.com/#!/Harcourt666/status/167085074326630400/photo/1 Probably not the best t-shirt quality you'll ever see but the printing (from just using the jpeg) is very good. Probably should've got a medium rather than large but I'll be wearing over a jumper come round 13 so it might just be perfect.

Totally agree with your comments regarding the Chinese being very tough to deal with and/ or hard to pull off. I can speak from personal experience. If they can pull it off and it could be a long term relationship then we're going to be a very very good position going forward. It's a high risk high reward strategy in my eyes. Don't get me wrong I have faith in CS but I'm getting nervous (again). Anyway, I'm off to have a bex and a lie down as advised yesterday.
-
OK it seems that I'm just about the only one slightly concerned about this - fair enough. I hope this Chinese sponsor supposedly taking their time ends up signing or we may be without one for half the year by the time we get into negotiations with other parties - that might end up costing the club a whole lot more than it has already. It's certainly isn't lost on me that this is the second time running we've been in a race against the clock to get a sponsor before the start of the season.
-
Hopefully! If the rumours re Malthouse / Buckley not seeing eye to eye are true then he might want to do whatever he can to help.
-
Got it done online at vistaprint.com.au - it was $24.08 delievered. If you want to wait until mine arrives I can let you know how well it comes out, it should arrive within a week.
-
Of course it's a fail, we've been without a sponsor for months now and it doesn't appear as though we're close to getting a new one. I appreciate it's an economic downturn and am sure they are working hard but it is a complete fail at the moment if you ask me. Last time we were lukcy that a long time supporter of the club stepped in and some bloke got pi$$ed in bar (or something) to land the other one for us. It's very concerning imo and is costing the club $$ each and every day it isn't sorted out.
-
This second sponsor is starting to become as big a worry as the last time we couldn't attract a major sponsor. Hopefully a member somewhere in the world gets drunk and stumbles upon something, somewhere, somehow like last time. Bit of a fail at the moment if you ask me and my confidence is low going on what the russian has said above. I'm tipping no sponsor to start the season.

I have had this printed on a t-shirt. Should arrive in the next couple of weeks. Cost $24.95 delivered.

Leadership group announced; Grimes and Trengove co-captains
Harcourt replied to Striker475's topic in Melbourne Demons
When you think about it how in the hell was Davey ever in the leadership group? He's probably one of the most petulant players we've had on our list in the last 10 years and has done aboslutely stuff all since he signed that massive contract. He really needs to pull his finger out this year. If he doesn't grab that forward pocket role and put pserious forward pressure on the opposition when they have the ball he is as good as gone imo. He's been worked out down back and that total squib job against St Kilda was sickening. -
