I'm not convinced that he can't. Further, when you are traded that usually provides the wake up call to pick up your work rate.
-
Not for $600,000 mind you.
-
Whereas I think Malthouse is trying to play a game style that isn't suited to his list. Ratten had it right. They just have a middle of the road list. I'd take Betts though. I'd take him every day of the week.
-
I actually thought he was probably in our top 2 or 3 yesterday. Not saying much given our performance, but a much better return.
-
Totally agree, Tim. And the fact that he is playing in a midfield bereft of talent and leadership cannot be underestimated.
-
They are different types of players. It's like comparing Sidebottom with Sewell. Wines will be an important player for Port and if Jimmy keeps developing, he'll be an important contributor for us.
-
If you'd been at the game, you would have thought that was definitely the right decision. It was bucketing down. No one had taken those all day. He went back and completed the spoil. Right decision. Rather than trying to mark it, dropping it in the slippery conditions and allowing a Geelong player to run into an open goal. It was a great decision.
-
I'd say Jimmy's awkward gait has come about from his two hip operations. He's still no doubt learning how to move with it.
-
Trade Radio - his manager just said they haven't spoken to us. So that's no Caddy. Thank God.
-
Let's just hope we don't get Caddy.
-
Don't get the Caddy love. Very meh.
-
Let's not get fancy with our possessions. Kick it on your natural foot. We barely hit targets by hand or foot as it is. No need to complicate by turning onto our left. Trengove and Watts did this yesterday as well.
-
He got the ball and I have been a fan of Morton in the past, but jesus does he butcher it! I'd be giving him run with roles. His best two games have been against Adam Goodes as a tagger. Minimise his kicking of the ball until he gains some confidence. He can be a beautiful long kick for goal. He's low on confidence, but his turn overs were unforgivable yesterday. I'll tell you what annoys me. Why the [censored] do our players insist on running onto their weaker side and kicking it with their left? How many turn overs did that result in yesterday? A handful at least.

Clinton Grybas was easily the best. Very nice guy too.
-
Exactly, rpfc.

I'm not sure it's such a bad thing, fitness. It puts Malthouse in the frame as well. We have the cash to spend on a coach and a young, talented list. If Clarkson declines then Mick has his turn.
-
That perception may have come from me reading Demonland too much.
-
No, I reckon we pay Scully what he's worth at the moment. In line with JT and Tappy. Spend the cash on a coach. No one on our list deserves that at the moment.
-
Very interesting. Carries as much weight as anything else we've ever heard in the media, but I'd like to dream.:D

Nah, he's too conservative. It was his style that lost us last year. If we'd played the way we did for the last 5 to 10 matches (score at all costs), for the entire season, instead of sitting back too much, then we would have won the title. Our back four is too injury prone as well, to basing relying on them to keep clean sheets and our forwards just return one or two goals. The best form of defence is attack. Attack, attack, attack. If we do so, we'll beat anyone in the world. We've proved that over the past few seasons.
-
Go the Reds. Although, I'll agree Lucas is a hack. He has absolutely no passing range, he's not strong on the ball and doesn't even possess a powerful strike. As soon as Aquilani is fit, he'll be benched.
-
Well, it hasn't been a good start to the campaign for my reds, but as soon as Aquilani starts playing, we'll smash it up. We just need to get there with nothing but wins from now. Hopeless start. We were lucky to beat Bolton, Benitez needs to pull his finger out (he's a [censored] manager IMO) and get them playing the score at all costs style we played towards the end of last season. If we begin playing that, there's no one that can match us. Chelsea are pretenders, Man Utd nothing without Ronaldo (and Vidic) and Arsenal couldn't get close, with their lack of depth. Still that is a worry for us, with limited transfer funds. El Nino has scored 3 from 4 games, but at the same time looks out of form and perhaps match fitness. Just imagine once he's properly fit. He's the best striker in the world and he'll rip any EPL defense apart. Go the Reds!
-
The reds will rip that title off you next year though, High Tower. No Tevez, probably a Liverpool player soon and if Ronaldo leaves, we won't even have a competition in the next title race. Haha, I love my arrogance.
