  1. I think they are both contracted. I'd pay them out if we think we can replace them with better players. I reckon we might be able to. Particularly, Terlich.
  2. I'd still be delisting Terlich, Matt Jones and Rohan Bail. But the latter two might be given a pass of there isn't a better alternative. At least, they're both prepared to run and harass opponents. Bail doesn't get enough of it for mine.
  3. Fair enough. I think there are still far too many (5 to 6) D to C graders on our list. We need to start replacing them with B graders at the very least. Agree about one A grader though, if we can manage it. I also think you'll find that Howe will be traded if the price is right. He still only does one thing and that is mark.
  4. Well, we're going to be going nowhere then. We need to keep improving the list every year. In fact, every club needs to do that every year, otherwise they risk falling behind. Col's a far more influential player when he plays instinctively. I just wonder whether he'll ever have the freedom to do that under Roos (and rightfully so). Spot on, mate. Very versatile. Can play on tall or small, can break the lines and isn't a bad kick.
  5. Yeah, I reckon he will. Particularly, once we've won our 6-8 games.
  6. He gets a three year deal, IMO.
  7. I think we'll see six go from the main list. Bail, McKenzie, Jamar, M Jones, Terlich and Howe to be traded. Grimes will probably get a one or two year deal on very little cash. At least, that's how I'd play it.
  8. There's no chance we take McCartin even if he's available. We'll be taking two midfielders and if we only take one and then say Wright, that'll mean Taylor and co don't think much of the rest of the midfield talent in this draft. Roos has signposted all year that we'll be taking mids, mids, mids.
  9. Well, given we've barely touched our midfield this off season, after saying everyone's tradeable, you'd bloody hope we'd look to invest in our C grade (B grade if I'm being extremely kind) midfield.
  10. I found the first half of the film predictable, but the final act was gripping and head ache-inducing. Bond girl Rosamund Pike is amazing. Fincher's direction is amazing, as is the cinematography. Reznor's score is wonderful too. A very solid watch.
  11. Is that sarcasm, jazza?
  12. Not sure if anyone's seen it, but the show that inspired me to become a filmmaker is returning in 2016, Twin Peaks. So excited. Not a film, but a DVD boxset.
  13. It makes a little bit of sense. We need another ruckman, but also a KPF that can ruck. That'll leave Dawes and Hogan to play true KPF.
  14. Interesting point, Mike. We know Dawes certainly won't be playing ruck. If we got Wright, that'd free up Hogan. Still, that midfield. We must strengthen the midfield. Early picks are the key to solve that problem.
  15. Are you angling at wanting the MFC to take Duggan for our half back line, spirit? Hypothetically, let's say Roos and co rate the top 10 relatively evenly, we may try to trade one of our top picks for a player and a mid first rounder (ala the Tyson/Salem deal). It is entirely feasible that this could happen and we do require damaging foot skills...
  16. I think we'll only go to the draft if we can't find a suitable trade for our first and/or second pick. Obviously, we'll draft after the first round, but I can see him trading picks all over the place for recycled players. It's what I'd do and given his history, that's what I expect he'll do if the players are out there.
  17. I think Treloar would offer our midfield an element we certainly lack and that's pace. But I'd take both too. :D
  18. Oh and can I have Prestia too, please? :D
  19. Haha, I know the feeling. I want Shiel, Treloar, a KPF in Boyd or Patton and GCS's McKenzie, please.
  20. This is a tricky situation, because I want us to pick the best players. If it means waiting an extra twelve months for a draftee to develop, for the long-term sake of the list, I'd much prefer that. We can't afford to work to a two or three year timeline, just because Roos may leave. That's doing a disservice to our long-term list management. I understand it's frustrating for everyone that we are continually anchored to the bottom of the table, but I want the best players. I want us to build our list properly this time, otherwise we run the risk of becoming a middle of the road team for the next decade. If the best thing to do means taking new draftees, so be it. Afterall, they may do a Wines and impact at AFL level immediately.
  21. I like Jimmy, but if we had to give him up to get PD, I think most would be okay with that. We'd be laughing if we got PD, JC and DS. Even Colyer would provide much need line breaking ability. Get them cleared with ASADA and I'd go hard at them. The only position we'd then need to address is the good decision maker/good kick off half back. We could really push next year if we managed all of that. Obviously though, that second top pick means Chip leaves, so it'd be a straight swap for Carlisle, I'm assuming? What happens if we got a PP? It's conceivable (but highly unlikely) that we'd have three picks inside the top 5. Can't see it flying for the AFL. They have a few clubs that are struggling that they'd probably want to get back up and running quickly. I wonder if we could push for a mid to late first rounder as a PP? Could be handy in some trades or picking up another mid. And then I woke up again.
  22. Matt Jones is one of the biggest offenders, IMO. What he'll do though is run back quite quickly, but he'll be facing the wrong way. By the time he's turned around, the opposition have set up. It's dumb football and it's really something that is drilled into footballers from a very early age. Never run with your back to the play.
  23. Bergman is genius and Polanski's done some beautiful work. Don't rate Fellini though. Prefer Bunuel. It's more the DIYness of those hands in the wall. I went to Deakin, then did a couple of years as a production assistant, now I produce my own films - mostly docs. Had no idea about the bluescreenness of TSOM. One of my favourites as a child. I would watch it religiously. Some of the greats have been fans. Tarantino, Truffaut etc. You don't have to attend film school to know anything. Watching heaps of movies is education enough. They'll be those around the traps that can help with the technical aspects.
  24. Ah, that's a bugger. Totally get you though. I probably won't be going along to much at MIFF, unless I get free tickets. It's a short film I produced earlier in the year. Quite female skewed, I suspect. I'll be interested to see how it goes. Yeah, I guess for the '60s it's okay, but I always had a problem with the groping hands. It reminded me of being in film school again. Shall certainly let you know about that drink. I haven't even looked at which hotel they've booked us into yet. My old man lived in Sydney for a few years in the early 2000s. Haven't been back since, so I'm intrigued and vaguely looking forward to it.
